Lol.

How much trim per 5 gal bucket did you use?

How much did you yield?
I didn't weigh the trim, it was only half dry anyways. It filled a freezer bag about half stuffed, meaning I think you could have stuffed twice as much in. Whatever that weighs out to...

Hash ball weighed out to 2.91 grams. Oh, and it is 2.9 grams of perfection. I really like hash.

Me too.

I dry mine. The whole concept is to create friction, removing the cold and vulnearable trichs. It just seems to me that logic would dictate having a dry medium would be benefical. What do you think?

I agree with tha thinking, however I think that the argument for wet leaves is stonger, or rather better for my taste.

I think drying it would make for easier separation of the trichs from the plant matter, but I think you would agree dry leaves break up easier than wet ones, so with wet leaves you have less 'breakage' of the plant matter leaving less broken up plant to contaminate the trichs.

While dry vs. wet I don't think would make too much of a difference in the long run, I would imagine dry leaves to produce slightly more hash, but the wet leaves might produce slightly cleaner hash. I hope that makes sense.

My other worry about drying my trim for hash is that just moving it when it is totally dry, many trichs fall off. I understand this is why you don't dry your trim on a trapolene, but I find it hard to do anything that requires stillness and attention easily in a house with 9 cats. I would think I would lose any extra trichs gained from drying the trim and thus making it more easily separated (in my opinion).

I use a super fine mesh screen from the cooking section of a local department store.

I get pretty much ANYTHING that won't stay suspended in the water.

And the taste is excellent. I purpose on our next runs we switch methods and continue this conversation then based on some emperical evidence.

We are both finicky and married to our mind made ideas and methods lol.

I love a good discussion though don't get me wrong. I just really can't say, I have never done it another way!

I'm game. I'll be done with my next one in about 3-4 weeks. Then a week to dry my leaves.

Oh yeah and may I please have your recipe/instructions for making butter?

I have never made it before, believe it or not, and wanted to try it out with my non sugar leaves after reading your report.

Didn't you make CannaOil too or something? Well give me a thorough Oh So Fresh review, eh?

Please and thank you?

:-)

For sure you can have my recipe... I just don't know if it's that great.

It is for sure easy.

Ingredients/ supplies:

1 Tub Country Crock
Leaves and stems
Crock Pot

Instructions:

Put Whole tub of CC in CP and put plant on top.

Turn crock pot on high for 6-8 hours. I poked at/ stired the stuff a few times, but don't think it is necessary.

Strain out plant matter.

When I did this I ended up with about half the country crock stuff I started with. I guess the other stuff either evaporated or soaked into the plant matter. Like the sugar trim I didn't weigh the plant going into the mix. It was probably more than would stuff into a freezer bag.

Next time I am going to turn the crock pot on low (last time I just forgot). I think this will make there be more 'butter'. But it may have just reduced the stuff on high making it more potent, so maybe not a bad idea.

What I was left with was pretty much like vegetable oil... but absolutely different. It was green and funky... the stuff is pretty gross looking/ smelling. It also kinda divides into a few different layers/ chunks. Gosh how apitizing do I make this sound, haha. When I have made brownies I have used Betty Crocker Brownie mix which calls for 1/3 cup vegetable oil, 1 egg, 2/3 water. The result is just amazing. Really really good tasting brownies, and they work well too.

One of the guys at the party I attended claims to be an edible connesouir (sp?), guess he doesn't like smoking all that much. Anyways he was very complimentary of how well they tasted... like something you would want to eat as desert after dinner.

It will be hard to top the first for sure. The grow going on right now I'm learning some becuase the plants are growing so differently. It's nice to kinda diversify your ways of growing, just so you know what's going on in different situations.

I hope I didn't just write this in this journal, but I think my aim is.... in my first 5 grows to have one be absolutely problem free. After that I can try to get things more perfect.

The biggest problem is I am too impatient to grow only one strain forever... and so I will have to adjust to new strains all the time. Oh well... tough price to pay to smoke on a bunch of different strains.

I think my grow after the Purple Kush will be either HeadBand or Casey Jones... I forget which is which but they are - Sour Deisel x OG Kush and Sour Deisel x Trainwreck.

WOOOOO HOOOOOOO.... I'm not even done curing my first harvest.... not done flowering my second and I CANNOT WAIT till I get going on the next.

I love it.

I love sharing with all you guys and having you care. It's such a great reward to not only get top shelf herb, but to see pics of other peoples set ups and grows... just awesome.

This website rocks. The people on this thread rock. That is why I feel a responsiblity to bring you grows that rock as well.

:peace:

Yeah, males in a screen would be a bitch. Worse than snakes on a plane.

Thanks man... they taste pretty good too. I really need to grow a sativa plant soon. Indica only for a month now (not a complaint).

Did anyone actually see that movie. I turned it off when a giant snake latched on to the guys crotch, blood shooting everywhere. Not really my thing.

Thanks for reading.
