Yeah I'm in 1 gallons too.
If we grew in the same size tent and started flowering the same day from rooted clone or seed even. I'll run 100w less than you and decimate you bro. Any day. Lmk.
you live in a fantasy , you don't even know what my setup looks like and i run way better genetics than you so it wouldnt even be a competition you'd be growing some big bud schwag while i'm growing the most fire og you ever seen.

About the AC direct type LEDs I mentioned earlier, after some research I found that they can only get up to about 100 lm/w in system efficiency. You'd make up the price difference in a few months of saved power with the Meanwells.

And as long as my Quantums grow me more weed, than my current light, I don't care who can grow more. I grow organic and all I care about is the quality, if I need more, I'll use a bigger space!

That's where i used to be, only caring about quality, but once you get to reproducing fire every run (i grow organically too COOTS ROLS style) then you start caring about yield a lot more.

Data Time !

I received some QBs late last week, and finally had a chance to do some data collection. I was fortunate enough to get in on the last batch by logging into the NGL website at 9:05 am on the only day the 90 watt kit was in stock a couple of weeks ago. Purchased three 90 watt kits and 3 spare boards with series 1 heat sinks, all 3000K. My angle on this is to find a sweet spot where these boards can be run soft to maximize efficiency and still produce top quality results.

Performed a series of tests using one, two and three boards in parallel run off one Meanwell HLG-80H-C700A driver. Here is my test rig:

My "light meter" consists of an iPhone 6 using "LUX Light Meter FREE" app from Nipakul Buttua. The app gives a read out in "LUX". While I have no way of checking the quantitative accuracy of this application, it should provide a good relative measurement of light output of various configurations at various power outputs.

The test was run with the iPhone and the QB oriented in parallel planes separated by 18 inches. The iPhone camera is centered in the middle of the board horizontally, and at 5.25 inches above the workbench which is a little above the center of the board in the vertical plane. The readings were collected in a dark room with no lighting. The light meter app gave a reading of 0 "LUX" with the lights off.

Readings were collected with the driver's built in dimming pot turned to maximum and then to minimum. The driver's dimming pot was adjusted from max to min several times until the light meter app gave consistent readings at both ends of the driver's power output. Readings were collected with 1 board, 2 boards in parallel, and 3 boards in parallel, at both maximum (high) and minimum (low) output using the driver's dimming pot. Readings were only collected from one board even when 2 or 3 boards were being powered. The other boards were placed inside a closed cardboard box to prevent light leakage from affecting the results. Here are the results, rounded to 3 significant figures:

1 Board High: 39,900
1 Board Low: 23,900

2 Boards High: 21,300
2 Boards Low: 12,700

3 boards High: 14,600
3 boards Low: 8,770

If I had a Kill-o-watt meter, I would have collected those data, too. Perhaps I will pick one up and run this experiment again.

Discuss.

Link me your quantum board grow I'd love to see how much less you grew with them over hps
