DIY with Quantum Boards

Oh man I really want to get my hands on two of these bad boys. It's the only thing that would fit the bill for my grow area. Someone sell me theirs!!

Can someone who has one tell me how thick the unit is with led and heatsink? And how close are you guys able to run the lights to your plants? I'm aiming for 6" as I'm in a tight space.

Day 47
Raised the lights up a link on the chains to let them get a breather and so I can see them better.

This is my 3rd time running this cut and it is by far the bulkiest and frostiest she's been! And she still has 20 days to go!
It's safe to say this is my current favorite LED tech. It was nice knowing you cobbycobs, you've served me well but there's a new king in town.

Fucking beautiful man! How close are the tops to the light in that pic? And what is the closest you've gone without burning or bleaching?

If I just had a more definite timeline, it would be better. I want to pop seeds, ASAP. But I don't want to pop seeds, and veg them under inferior lights if the quantum boards won't be available for another month.
lol we all are in the same boat...@robincnn didsay a few weeks for new boards and designs aside from order within a week or 2...I'm feeling it man,,I was ready 3 years ago ,just needed all this to manifest to make sure of it lol...few months from now will be really cool to see everybody rocking there QB builds and pics,...:bigjoint::peace::hump:

You can pop seeds well under a couple normal light fixture leds. Hell, Cpt Morgan and I have done full veg to harvest back in the day using similar bulbs. Just buy a 3-4 bulb vanity fixture from Lowes/HD + either Cree NWs or some other NW (+ one WW for root development), and get going. By the time they need more light you should have your order. If not replace one more NW with another WW to carry through

I take your point and I have some old T5s from my aquarium that can get them into veg. Suppose, however, that there is some other hiccup in the availability of the QBs. I don't have unlimited funds to waste on inferior lights.

I'm projecting myself getting into them in like a year from now for the QBs...hopefully a few designs will be solidified by then and it won't be such a madhouse/rush to get your foot in the door.

In the meantime, I'm looking at a great deal on an Apache Tech AT600 fixture. I've always wanted one...could never afford one at the regular retail price. I just like the idea of a multi-emitter array light that spreads the light out a lot.
