"Driverless" cob swap

I told someone in another thread that I had ordered some of these and would show putting one in a chinesium cob fixture.I use this to shine up into the canopy. It really helps in my tall narrow closet.
These cob fixtures are really nice but we are kinda locked into using the company's chips.I have not seen these double chips anywhere else. Two drivers one chip. When I saw these driverless cobs,I thought I would replace a burned out chip with one.It really is just as easy as it looks. Two wires.034.jpg 035.jpg 036.jpg
After taking the old stuff out, clip one of the leads off the old chip and solder it to the new one.It don't matter which one goes where because its A/C.Put a thin layer of thermal grease on the base and mount it to the sink. 040.jpg
Plug it in to one of the power switch connectors and reassemble the light.043.jpg 046.jpg049.jpg
There are many of these "driverless"cobs offered on ebay and such.I liked these because they looked well made. They are not really driverless, they are just on board with the chip.the one you see was claimed 50W 4000k.
