Another stellar harvest Dropastones, really digging those close-ups, just dripping w/trichrome...What was your ratio again before you cut those? How much will you amber out the other one? I plan to stage out "50%, 75%, than 100%" the amber on my gold this run, I’ll cut the BW when she is at 50%....Your NL#5 always looks awesome even in early stage of flowering, cleanly pruned...I can’t reach that well around my grow-box yet, I want to rid of all the undergrowth as much as possible so they look like yours...I read that a few fan leaves need to remain. Also your branches look purple, that’s kool as hell, also for an indica plant, your foliage, leafs look sativa to me....so I have to ask again what is the percentage of indica is the NL#5?

Great grow bro......sit back and enjoy that awesome bud....:joint:

I'd say only 10-15 % amber and that's plenty for me. This weed already knocks me out at those ratios. I smoke a bowl and a few hours later it's nappy time for me.

From my understanding, THC is starting to degrade when going amber, So to me 10-15% is ripe. Although if your looking for that couch lock I guess you could say the more amber the better. Personally, I wouldn't go past a 50-60% amber but hey, that's just me.

I want to rid of all the undergrowth as much as possible so they look like yours...I read that a few fan leaves need to remain
That's the first time I ever took so much undergrowth but it's the first time I'm trying to grow this many plants out too. Every watering I have to take em out so while there out I just keep pruning all the little stuff that isn't making it to the top, that includes the fan leaves too and I don't remove anything on top. I've also been supper-cropping to maintain an even canopy.

also for an indica plant, your foliage, leafs look sativa to me....so I have to ask again what is the percentage of indica is the NL#5?
From the website it says it 100% Indica but don't believe that to be true because from what I understand, unless you have the holly grail, all NL#5 or any NL for that matter is crossed with some type of sativa.

Also I had the same question as you about the leaves not appearing to be an Indica. So I wrote HGS about it and they said
At first any plant will grow out big fans but the longer it grows and the more leaves it produces, lessons the need for them to grow so big. They start off big because they are trying to catch all the sun they can to produce enough energy to grow. Once they hit a certain stage in life big fans are no longer needed
To me that's just hearsay because I have no proof to back up what he said, although he's the expert not me, so take it with a grain of salt.

This is copy and paste and it's only the first paragraph of the article found on strain hunters.

Northern Lights story
Hey guys well there are a few of you that keep asking me for some more strain history's well here's one of the greats of all time. I first grew Northern lights along with many G13 strains back in the 1980's I love these old school originals
. The original Northern Lights family is genetically diverse. No other indica plant besides the legendary G-13 has accumulated such widespread recognition and fame as the Northern Lights Afghani. The original Northern Lights plants were pure indicas but later hybrids were released with a bit of Thai Sativa in their pedigree. This probably accounts for the fruity taste and great, almost psychedelic, high that this plant is known for today. Although most of the subsequent plants were bred towards an indica expression, there are still sativa phenotypes popping up now and then as a reminder of the genetic history of the plant.
If you would like the whole story you can find it here.

Thanks amber you always say the nicest things. In all honesty I don't consider myself a person with the gift of growing but none the less I'll certainly take all the compliments I can get lol.

How long I veg for depends on what I'm trying to grow. If I want monsters I veg for 6 to eight weeks. If I want medium plants I veg for 4 weeks. The shorter the veg time the smaller your plants will be. The ones I'm growing out now went for 4 weeks, a little longer than I originally planed for. This round I was looking to have plants half that size. I should have only vegged for a cpl of weeks but due to my spacial limitations and waiting for plants to finish in the flower room it set me back a bit.

I really don't have any grow secrets. I just water em when they're thirsty and feed em when they're hungry. I never try to overfeed, actually I always tend to underfeed, my motto is less is more. Pumping them full of nutes can lead to problems but I can also say the same for underfeeding. You just have to find that happy medium and they will love you for it.

Well I hope there is something that you can take from that^^^^and apply it to your garden. But in all honesty I think your doing just fine all on your own. I believe you have your own special skills with the plant we all know and love that would make anybody envious of you grow.

Peace and happy growing my friend.

What up surfer. In the picture that's 4 oz but in reality I got 4.5 dry. I've been smoking quite a bit and the weight has been dropping lol. Then I got a 1/2 oz of popcorn, so on a rough estimate, I'd say more like 5 oz total.
Damn not a bad pull I'd say! Haha ya I seem to have similar problems with my yield once it's dry, it just keeps going down and down.

Ask and ye shall receive.

Here's a few pics for ya. I'm still growing NL#5 but this will be the last time round for this strain. Then I believe I"ll be moving on to some G13 Labs Pineapple Express.

This is the end of round two 86 days flowering. Sorry I don't think these are very awe inspiring and definitely not the prettiest looking plant but I had some serious pH lockout issues on this one. I was gonna chop it last Sunday but I just couldn't get myself to do it because she still had a little ways to go. She'll probably be coming down in the next few days. I'll be checking the trichs tonight and see where she's at.

And this is round three. Nine plants @ 18 days flowering, crammed into a 3x3x8 closet. all in 1 gallon superoot air pots under the 400 watter. When round two is done they'll be going under the 600 watter.

I hope y'all enjoyed the show. Y'all come back now ya hear.

Check y'all later.

Putting em all under the 600 my friend. If it gets too crowed I'll split em up. I'm going for a (sog) sea of green. I'm not looking for any buds to grow below the canopy. I still got a few branches I'm gonna prune on my next watering. The way I see it, if they don't make their way to the top of the canopy by the end of the stretch, there getting pruned. In the next few weeks all I wanna see is a sea of buds. I'm trying to maximize every sq inch of my grow space for bud production.

Yeah it's pretty cool isn't it. It's like whole other world you just can't see with the naked eye. If I look close enough I can see an amber here and there but at the same time I can see some clear with mostly cloudy ones.

hahah, your too funny saying that your dope aint the prettiest.. hahah, THEY ARE FUCKIN HUGE!!!!!!!!!
i will take ugly buds like that any day!!!!!! lol
Trichome shots are amazing!!!!!!! i wonder if you cut a couple buds now and noted the day... and cut others later and then cured them both and then sampled them both.
It would be interesting to hear the different smoke reports on them.. ?
so you had ph lockout? any idea how that happened. Im also very amazed that you grew these in 1 gallon pots!!!!!!!!! could that be the reason?
Very intreging garden you have Dropa. AWesme journal repotring and amazing photography.
