This is my first grow journal. I have been on the site for over 3 years and I thought "its time to start a journal finally" and here I go. I am well into my grow,4 days into flower. As the title reads I have 1 Super Skunk 1 Sensi Star and 1 Early Girl. I vegged them under 2 T8 shoplights with 1 warm and 1 cool bulb in each fixture. I use Pro-Mix Ultimate Organic with mycorrhizae, probably the best and only store bought soil I recommend. I am using Advanced Nutrients Jungle Juice Micro and Bloom for the whole grow using the Lucas Formula. 8ML micro and 16ML bloom with 1 tsp of epsom salts added ever two weeks to their feeding. I also use occasionally superthrive(usually only when they look a little stressed or after transplant) and I use H2O2 at 1/4 cup per gallon at every feeding. During veg I fed every other watering. During flower I will feed every watering. I plan on adding AN big bud and bud candy at week 4 of flower to boost flowering and help them swell. They are now in 5 gallon buckets under a 400W HPS with super hps bulb. I use a filter queen defender for odor control(doesn t work too good) and am about to invest in the growbright 4" inline fan and filter combo which should knock out the skunk in my room. My temps stay a constant 77F during lights on and drop to 70 at lights off thanks too my new ac. It was a bitch to control without one. Im suprised I made it through veg without problems. I am adding pics which were taken a week ago. I will add recent pictures tomorrow.

They only appear droopy because I took them out of their area and misted them heavily with carbonated water. I now have a DIY Co2 system in my area. I am using the active yeast/sugar/water method and each plant has its own 1 gallon jug of Co2. I run the hose from out the top of the jug into a little cup of water which sets on top of the soil. If its bubbling I know its active, when it stops bubbling I know to change it out. Works great I have noticed major improvements in growth. A bit stinky but I get over it lol.[h=3][/h]

They are doing better than I anticipated. Since I threw them into 5 gallon buckets the growth has exploded. I also prepped my soil a few days a head of time...getting it nice and wet and letting it sit covered for a few days to get the beneficial fungi going before I transplanted. They transitioned perfectly, no stress and right back to growing. They are on day 6 of flower. All of them have preflowers but the smaller one. It has calyxes but no white hairs popping yet. No signs of hermie anywhere...Im stoked. 4 more weeks and I can start posting some bud porn :)

Thanks guys and gals! I am super happy with what is going on in my garden. I really appreciate the comments :) I will be adding 6 clones to the flower room in about 2 weeks. I was able to get 9 healthy clones out of the 3 plants bottom branches. I might get lucky enough to get a couple more before the early flower stretch is over. After that branches slow down growth and trimming anything other than dead or dying leaves can stress them quickly. Im only gonna veg the clones for a week after they have roots poking out of the peat pods.(right now there are just small nubs starting) My clone cab is pretty small 16 inches wide by 16 inches deep and 2 foot in height so I will have to get them out quick so I have room to turn 3 of the clones into new moms for the next grow. I had a 100% success rate with this round of clones. All is well in the land of 420! lol

I made a minor booboo and the worst kind of booboo to make during flower is accidentally bumping a mechanical timer and not knowing a couple tabs popped down during the lights off cycle. I think they were on for about 30 minutes...I flipped the switch to my room right away. This is THE only time they have ever been interupted in their dark cycle and I have heard as long as its a one time thing..chances of hermie are very low. I hope this is true. I would hate to have to start over with clones. Took a lot of work to get these ladies as big as they are lol. I had a digital timer but it had a red indicator light so I scraped it for the mechanical as it has no lights. Now I am going by the timer on my cell phone and a flip of the switch on the wall. It has always worked best for me because night and day...all I do is think about my plants. I went in to check for light leaks about 6 hours into the dark cycle, noticed my ac tripped the power strip because I had my filter plugged into it, fixed that and closed the door(I have the ac plugged into a strip because its on the same circuit as my lights and I would rather it trip the strip than the whole circuit and shut the lights off ;)). I noticed the peripheral of the plastic I have on was lit up. Something just told me to go in there and check lol!

thats lame fella..... well hopefully nothing bad will come of it, i don't think it'll stress em too much.

i know the feeling when my girls were growing they became part of the family.... and i did get into trouble for neglecting the GF a little hahaha

They seem ok..but only time will tell. Stupid ac lol. I checked the plug on it and now I know what the problem is. The plug is burnt. Im sure this is causing a surge in electricity and causing the circuit to trip. Im wondering...can I replace the plug on the ac or will that just make things more unstable? I would hate to have to tear it out of the window along with the sheeting that is keeping it lightproof. That took awhile to get set up. The ac blows super cold air so I'm hoping I can save it. If not it's back to keeping the door to the grow all open all night so my wall unit can semi cool it off back there. Everything was going so perfect....I guess something has to go wrong though and I hope that was all that is in store for me.

I think that you need advice from an electrician. I've had 3 round mine !!! It could be that the fuse box needs a higher amp ( I did that) or it could be that the wiring in the house is 1950's when we didn't have electrically draining consumables like AC, tumble drier, dishwasher etc...Is the block/house old? Can u take a picture of ur fuse box for me? I can always ask one of my electrician friends...

As for the light accident. The more they are in veg the less chance of hermie, I think. It only happened once b4 u realised so fingers crossed. If you had a digital timer and got a power cut then it would be ok because they have an internal battery to keep the time, as long as the circuit was switched on again soon. In other words it would keep the same light cycle without you having to re-set it. Digital timers are great for sychronizing different equipment - like CO2 on whilst fans off. I use both timers and have a built-in clear plastic cover over mine.

yeah sounds like something isnt right ...... so you should isolate it (and work without ac) if you don't know what your doing you should consult an electrician, and thats gonna be a pain if you don't know a like minded person as you're gonna have to clear the room....
you really don't want a fire my friend... get it sorted as soon as possible

I was so paranoid in the beginning (b4 I upgraded the fuse) that I bought a fire extinguisher to have in the house. I should really buy a smoke alarm too. I had the power shorting on me and the lights went off midday for 4 hrs !!! I was using too much power for my box. Even if I get the most powerful fuses I would still have to check the cables to see if they could take the power.

I figured it out guys. I fixed the plug that had the burnt prong and when the lights are on I run my ac with a good quality extension cord to a single use outlet. It is for blow-dryers, microwaves ac's etc. Its in my bathroom and it never gets used so it works for me. I was exceeding the amperage for the circuit in my room. The light is 3.8 amps, the ac is 9.6 amps, and all my fans together are about 2 amps...so too much juice. I know anything over 12 can trip a circuit if the wiring is bad. The apt. I live in was built in 1947. I tested all the outlets and they all passed with a green light. The circuit box is just a standard box that is found in all homes with the switches. No fuses for us! I know about electricity to a point. I just had a brain-fart and never got around to counting up how many amps I was using in my room. I talked to an electrician and he guided me in the right direction on how to fix the plug and what type of extension cord to use with an ac...even though its not recommended to use one he said as long as its not on high cold all day I will be fine. Shoot I keep it on low 3 and it keeps the room at 77F during lights on and 70F lights off. Without an ac and me not being able to vent in my room to outside it would easily exceed 90F during lights on and I could never get the temp below 80 at lights off no matter what the temp was outside. They are looking fine, no signs of hermie. I had them in veg for a while so I should be fine. Pheeeeew! Thanks for the advice all :) BTW I am a worry wort when it comes to fires too. That's why I ordered the 12KG watchdog auto fire extinguisher so I can mount it in the middle of my room.

Speaking of ac's and extension cords. I fondly remember my uncle using one in his barn that had no electricity. He combined 4 100 foot orange extension cords to reach his trailer. In between, the connections were uncovered, getting rained on, chewed on by rodents etc. That ac ran that way for the better part of 10 years without a fault lol.

Pics from a little while ago before I watered them. Early Girl wasn't ready to be watered yet so I will have some of her tomorrow when I do water her. They are now on day 11 of flower...Super Skunk is the untopped plant, and Sensi Star is turning into a monster of a plant. They are getting a bit too dark green for me in places but I haven't noticed any clawing on leaves except a few towards the very bottom nodes of the bottom branches. Im guessing its lack of light and that is where air from one of my fans is directed, so I am going to prune them leaves off.

Thanks troutie!

I am scraping the DIY co2 yeast sugar water method. Not because it doesnt do the job but because I cannot stand the smell and I heard that if you use it through flower it can make the buds smell and taste like potatoes. I am buying an exhale co2 bag. It won't work well during the day but when I close the closet up at lights off it should fill that small area up nicely with co2 and without that funky fermented smell. The ona block works great but once you get near the plants all you smelled was yuck lol.

Damn these clones are strong. I took them from bottom branches too! I heard that bottom branch clones root faster because they are closer to the root zone. I don't know if this is a myth or not. The two that were the strongest I put under a 55w cfl in my clone box. When the hps comes on I throw them in there at the bottom far away from the light. They have not wilted,sagged...nothing. They are doing awesome even with a very small root system. I put them in fresh pre-flushed promix(I preflush so all the nutes are out of it and started them on 1ML/gallon jungle juice micro,2ML/gallon jungle juice bloom and a ML of Bud candy to feed the beneficial bacteriaand a quarter cup/gallon of H2o2. I'll work my way from here. I always use the lower concentration h2o2 with organic soil, especially if it has beneficial bacteria and fungi. The higher grade stuff seems to just kill off the beneficials leaving me with unhealthy plants.

So Early Girl is no longer with us...Lights came on and I do my usual inspecting since the accident with the timer and on 3 separate branches next to pistils are clusters of male pods. So I pulled it and now I am down to 2. They are the two beasts tho so I still expect a good yield. I inspected the other two for the better part of 2 hours, every node, front and back and they are ok..so far. I'm hoping the Early Girl was just supposed to be hermie. If it was an easy stresser...good riddance lol. I will update pics weekly when I water them. The pics are too crappy near the HPS. I will update if I notice anything else going on with them though.
