OMG !!! I can smell them from here!!!! They look amazing, not too long now !!! That Sat looks really tall. Loving the look of those colas. It'll be interesting to find out the dry weight afterwards. WELL DONE !!

Thank you! The smell of them changes weekly. I use the sugar leaves as a good test of what they smell like. I just find a frosty one, squeeze and rub and smell and its fruity/earthy/skunky. The smell in the room overall is just a slight skunk. There is much more smell when the lights are off though. Im out of ona block, never was able to afford another carbon filter so I am relying on fabreeze and this generic odor absorbing gel cannister with little gel beads in it. It works to a point but I find myself using a can of febreeze every other day lol. I cannot wait to find out the final weight either! The sensi is 35 inches tall, the first foot is the main stalk then it was topped so it splits off into 6 bigger branches with colas on them. There are two small bottom branches also. On the 4 biggest branches there is solid bud growth for 18 inches! The calyxes are really starting to swell now and push out more and more. I would say 10% of the pistils are orange/red now too. Trichomes are 80% clear 20% cloudy. I saw one amber trich on the sample sugar leaf so I'm not counting that lol. I would say 2 weeks left til I flush and they are averaging 2-3 waterings a week now, they are very thirsty girls guzzling 6 gallons of water per week. I test the pots by lifting them, the finger method and taking some dirt out of the holes I have drilled to see what the moisture level is like and they still require 1 1/2 - 2 gallons of water every 2 days! So 1 more full feeding this week and one more full feeding next week then flush then I will use only water and bud candy for the remainder of the grow. The sativa I am feeding 1/2 strength veg+bloom every 3rd watering. The in between waterings I use cal/mag at 5ml/gallon only as she is a cal/mag hog. Since I started using this water cal/mag,water cal/mag,feed method all of the new growth is nice and green and no more spots on any new growth. What I did notice that is weird on the sativa is the very top leaves that are forming went from 7 points to 5 points to 3 points...on every single branch and sub branch on the entire plant. It is still budding very very slowly with all of the branches budding at the same speed except for the very top....which still hasn't crowned or produced a single white hair. Starting week 7 here tomorrow so I hope she kicks into gear soon. What do you think of a nice dose of boombastic next feed to see if it kickstarts her. That would bring the PK ratio up to 40P and 43K. Or just slow and steady like I've been doing? The only N it gets now is the lonely 2 that is in the cal/mag +. More pics tonight :)

I love it when the smell develops, it's great. Sounds like u've got some serious bud weight happening. At this stage I would probably be flushing my fast indicas so I would have stopped feeding 10-14 days before, depending on pot size. The boombastic is strong so a little goes a long way. Were u considering 0.5 ml / litre. I've had mishaps with Canna PK 13/14 and boombastic is even stronger. Sats are so sensitive. Must be time to taper off the feeding anyway, u said 2 more times. I cut when my trichs are half cloudy and on Jamaican Dream the hairs can be really white at harvest but carry on processing to orange. I love JD. People never get bored of it and it's still unusual. Do ur fan leaves yellow at the end of the flush, just b4 harvest? Do u wait for them to yellow or just count the days? I think you should write a book on 'How to grow MJ' & I'll write one ' How Not to Grow MJ' !!!

What about the next ones? U've got the clones??

Yes the bud weight is happening! I was just thinking today of adjusting her feeding to 1/4 strength for one more feeding then flush and let her finish up munching on leaf nutrients. Yeah I let the leaves yellow. Flower time on her is 8-9 weeks so one more feeding would bring me to about the 2 week mark to flush. That boombastic is very strong stuff. I underestimated it lol. There is a slight burn on a few of the sugar leaves but nothing affecting the buds. I think what happened was this. I overfed her and that coupled with me choosing not to flush her a week or two ago, the high temps and very low humidity while the lights were on caused her to gasp and choke from not being able to transpire correctly. I dont want that to continue happening so just that one more light feeding in a few days then thats it with the food. Now the sativa I feed very very lightly. I only give 1/4 strength bloom nutes with cal/mag every 3rd watering and every second feeding I add 1/4 strength micronutrients. I only add micro once in a while because of the higher N in it and she absolutely hates anything to do with N. The cal/mag has a little in it too. I just trimmed a whole bunch of dying leaves from the lower and middle parts then trimmed a few tiny wispy branches down low. I should have done this long ago but you know how it is sometimes lol. She is flowering slow enough that I have no worries about it causing her too much stress, she'll slow down for a couple days but its all good. I have her partway out of my closet so the sensi can get full light so she can finish faster. I just rotate the sativa 3 times before I go to bed and i have a huge cfl on the other side of her for a little extra. I would love to write a book on writing mary j...if only I had the time lol, maybe after the kids are out of the house lol. After this grow we are taking everything down and packing it up for the move next february. We want the next grow to be in the basement of our house with much more room. Growing in a closet is cool and all, but I need to be able to stabilize the environment better. Our buddy is gonna have lots of clones for us too from these two strains. Im just gonna pass on the sativa and grab about 25 of the sensi star up and go to town. We get about $8000 back from tax returns in February too so we plan on spending about $2000 on a new setup, couple 1000 watters...DWC....some pure organic soil grows with my grandma's secret soil recipe....shit like that :)

no it is never enough fabreeze lol. I got some closet odor absorbers too now so the smell is really down. Not having a carbon filter is a challenge lol. Thats another reason why we are waiting until we move for another grow. We want to make sure that we have everything we need and some backup supplies just in case something fails. Another reason...our landlord informed us that sometime between november and january code enforcement is coming through to do their yearly inspections. So I have to make sure everything is taken down and packed up for their visit. Almost feels like a bunch of nazi's walking in, they look through closets, test outlets and smoke detectors, test our stove, our water, check our pipes. They are so picky smh. Once we move into a house the days of code enforcement visits are over.

I started off with 3 different strains. Super Skunk,Early Girl and Sensi Star. Early girl hermied after the timer problem I had and super skunk turned out to be a full out sativa so I was given the wrong info on that one as to what strain it was. It has been an honor to grow this sensi star. She is strong, resiliant and very fast to flower. She can take alot of nutes or none at all and still grow at a rapid rate. I have had no pest problems or diseases with her and she clones very easily even under stressful conditions. Its a shame that I don't have any more clones of her. If the person I donated the majority of the clones too doesn't keep them going for me its sad to say that this pheno is gone after these plants finish. The smaller clone I kept of her is doing awesome, budding nicely and is about 3 weeks behind her mom. I would love to grow this strain over and over again until I got it absolutely perfect. Its perfect for beginners, stays short, not too many leaves to worry about and like I said, she is very resiliant. If for some reason my friend doesnt keep any clones for me I will be getting some feminized sensi star from paradise seeds for my next grow.

I've smoked Acid from Paradise Seeds and it was awful, like perfume or eating soap. My friends have sold a lot of their AF's this year. Sensi Star is their biggest Cup winner and the pictures look good. They were at the show this year. I've never grown anything of theirs and they're really mean with samples. My Super Skunk clone looks very vigorous compared with the White Russian. Very hungry too. i'm vegging up my Super Skunk Mum for clones - looking lot happier now at PH 6.5 ;) . I'm cloning Double Dutch tomorrrow. Wish I could let u loose on my Mums with a pair of scissors. You'd have plenty to play around with!

Do you only veg with CFL's or do you use the HPS at a distance? I need to veg up my Power Kush fast!! Choice = digital ballast 250w(-440w) ? Or just the cool & warm CFL 55w x 2?

I know you vegged your plants a lot longer than I will be (8 pots under a light). They're 4 weeks old 20 cms .

Im glad everything is lookin' good for you. I wish that sativa would have turned out to be a super skunk. This sativa has got to be the absolute WORST plant I have ever grown lol. It pops a couple white hairs, then starts growing vertically again, pops a few more..then more vertical growth. Its about 6 ft tall right now and to tell you the truth it looks the same on bud growth than it did 3 weeks ago. I have the ph perfect, dropped off the feeding almost totally and every single leaf on the plant has the claw. So I am thinking the only possible thing left that could be wrong is that it is pot bound. I am thinking of giving up on her as she is so far behind and we are totally out of money having to foot the whole bill to get our car back. I do have the lone sensi star clone though that should give us another half oz. I had high hopes for the sativa though. If it would flower correctly it could easily pull 8 oz but I just dont think its going to happen with things being the way they are now with our finances. About the lights I used in veg. I started off with T8 shoplights, 2 of them overhead for the first month. Then I put them under the hps for the final 2 weeks of veg. I do this with all my grows as I just dont have the room to veg them entirely under the hps. I always veg for 6 weeks or until I see the first preflowers and the nodes start to alternate. Everytime I have tried to flower early with a premature root system I get hermies. Thanks for the kind words on the pictures. I love taking pictures and this plant is total eye candy with close ups. I think because of the high temps it is going to fox tail. I say this because on the 4 main tops there are huge calyxs with a dozen mini calyxes in each one popping out tons of white hairs. Right now I would say 1/4 of the plant has red hairs and there are more and more when the lights go on everyday. I am flushing on wednesday and 2 weeks after that I am planning on harvesting. If its not ready by then I will play it day by day but it will be getting water/bud candy only from wednesday on out.

Do u always go over the rec'd time or is this usually when the trichs are half/half? Do u think the Seed companies underestimate the flowering times? Many people say that the days start counting from when the pistils form but I count from 12:12. I go by the trichs but I don't think that I go over the flowering times by more than half a week. The Super Skunk that I've got from Sensi Seeds is supposed to be 45-50 days with a bumper yield. In soil, i would expect it to be at least 49 days and maybe less in hydro. What do u think?

How much volume are you going to flush the plants with? Will u use anything, like mild soap or a flush solution?

Around here, there are some real commercial growers and it's always about; how long to clone (root), how long to flower (7 wks average) and how much yield. Of course THC and flavour come into it but these are the main concerns !!

Double Dutch cloned and now I need to do the White Russian !!! :)

Usually because my conditions are not perfect with minor stress's occurring here and there I don't go by rec'd time. Anything even minor that happens during flower delays flowering from a few days to even a few weeks in extreme cases so I always go by trich's. That sounds about right for your flower time on the super skunk but if you have any stresses during flower I would note what the stress is and how major it was so if its not ready on time according to breeder instructions you will know why. I plan on using RO water only for flush. I have never used flushing solutions before, maybe I should lol. I always end up with nice sweet tasting bud so if what I am doing works I'll stick with it. I use a 3:1 ratio with flushing so I'll be pushing 15 gallons of water through her. The last two gallons I mix in bud candy and the rest of the way I will use it. It really seems to help frost them up. I think I will be putting the sativa to an early death. Upon inspecting the roots they are damaged beyond repair imo. They are dark brown and dying which is why I am seeing all of the claw in the leaves and last night I noticed half of the plant has black spots showing up all over the leaves and every pistil on the plant is dark red and shriveled. I am worried about it going hermie and I don't want to ruin what I already have going. I think I got a sativa that is showing off its hemp genes which is another reason why it just refuses to flower. I am going to pick up some auto's from attitude and try to squeeze in a sog before code inspection in the winter. Im sure we can pull it off I just have to find the right strain to give us a nice yield. Here's what I had in mind...
Berry Ryder
Purple Cheese
Critical Mass
Diesel Matic
Kannabia Seeds Speedy Gonzales
Sagamartha Seeds Stuporsonic

I might just pick up a couple singles of each strain and run them all. Im going to be making a homemade tent out of the closet in the corner of the room. Im also going to be picking up a cool hood for our light to take care of the heat. It should be easier growing as the fall nears and using my homemade tent we'll be able to bring in fresh air from outside without fear of leaking light out or in of the grow area. If I like these auto's I might just keep doing sog grows for awhile and build a nice supply up then start a perpetual grow at the new place and really start experimenting and homing our skills.

Wow !! You've got some lovely looking buds there. Nice peachy orange coloured pistils, was that of the Super Skunk??

Sounds like u've got a decision to make abt this Sativa. If u are definitely going to do the AF then why waste time if the roots are brown. If nothing else will continue then maybe ride it out, if poss.

The critical AF will prob give u a good yield in a very short time. Not sure about the others. I have some on the go now. This is from Sweet Seeds - Sweet Skunk, I think.

The only plants I have going are the 2 sensi stars and the sativa(the one I was told was super skunk) lol. The pics are of the lower buds of the sensi star momma, she is so frosty all over! I have already put the sativa down, upon inspecting the entire root ball the roots were too far gone, she would have hermied for sure so it was for the better. I would rather spend my time growing the auto flowers out.

new pics..day 47 of flower. Getting closer!! I know I have a cal/mag deficiency, even though I have been giving her cal/mag at every feeding. I guess she is programmed to naturally yellow and drop leaves at this stage in flower. I checked the roots, they are bright white and very nice, ph is 6.7 in the soil and 6.9 runoff so its within range. I am starting to think the pro-mix ultimate organic I am using has more nitrogen in it than is stated in the bag. I even removed almost every twig and piece of bark in the bags. It says it is a soil-less mix which should allow me to follow my own feeding regime without fear of overfeeding so I am just left wondering....I think next grow I will be using the bio-soil from atami and doing purely organic run.

Sensi Star Clone...We call her Dwarf Star, She is starting to grow weird, bud growth is fine, even a few trichomes on a couple leaves already and she is only about 2 1/2 weeks into flower. This clone was transplanted and put into flower as soon as the roots were about an inch long. I watered her just a little bit the first few waterings to encourage root growth, used the rootbastic and now she is drinking about 1/2 gallon every 3 days. Her feeding regime is 1/4 tsp veg+bloom every 3rd watering. I will be adding no cal/mag unless needed(I highly doubt I will need it as the veg+bloom has plenty in it) and no bloom boosters or bud candy. This is a trial run using just the veg+bloom so I can see what it does as a stand alone. So far I am noticing a little claw on a couple leaves and a very dark green color. I will drop the feeding down to 1/8 tsp if I have to. Notice the 3 point leaves on the top and the very top leaves are only single bladed leaves. Is this normal?

Oh yeah !! That was the one that slipped the net. I kept thinking there were 4!! Can't keep up, need to smoke less!!

So, u've made ur sacrifice. That Sat may have taken ages to finish, especially with bad roots and now u will be able to free up the room for another quick harvest or just free up the room!!

A lot of plants look quite knackered just before harvest. They're leaning over, shedding old leaves, sucking out the last bits of N and going yellow. As long as the buds are fine it's all good, right?

I think I've got a Mg def with my clones and I attached a picture to my Outdoor 2012 thread. Can u please take a look, pretty please? :)
