Flowering with Cree bulbs

After more research I'm now not as hopeful for the Philips Slim style, this is a good video tear down of it here,
It is noted at 1:30 it has a fair amount of flicker, more than the Cree's. Flicker has got to be something to avoid for growing huh?

Tear down of the Cree
It has less flicker.
Cree also has a 100w equivalent bulb now too! http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cree-100W-Equivalent-Soft-White-2700K-A21-Dimmable-LED-Light-Bulb-BA21-16027OMF-12DE26-1U100/205054835

I'm back to focusing on flood LEDs however, for their directional light beam. Home Depot has the Philips BR30 for $16 now.

13 watts used, 65w equivalent, 2700K, minimal flicker. Thinking of getting 4 or 5 to make a 260-325 watt equivalent flowering panel for 2 plants.

The problem with the new Phillips bulbs is their omnidirectional pattern just like the crees, but they also make a 3000k version A19 I prefer, because Cree doesn't.

Do not use watt equivalent as any kind of guide. That would be 260 watts of incandescent which still won't grow you much, since most of that is heat and crappy spectrum.

How much light is being pushed out of a bulb at what power is what you should be concerned about.....

If you bought 4 bulbs [BR30] that would equal 52 watts, nothing more, nothing else. In a 2 sq. ft space, they would be adequate for flowering.

nice.. home depot have them yet? I didn't see it on their site... I wish they would make some t5 ones. I have 3 t5 fixtures sitting in the closet doing nothing..
Take out the t5 bulbs and hang them around your current grow to finally get some light reflected back to your girls.......And stick your blankets in the closet instead;-)

I ordered panda film last night. Ive been debating between than and permaflect for the last few weeks... Broke down and got the panda film.. This summer I plan on lining the walls with thermal mylar over the poly film and other walls. Its going to be a volcanic summer here..

the blankets and black out curtain are covering windows. they will come down in a few days.
