fox news is reporting that the detroit bombing plan was plotted by ex-gitmo detainees. probably too early to tell if this is true or not but if true, it really throws a wrench into the histeria created about gitmo. if true, it supports that cheney and bush were right.

one thing that is definitely a fact is that the yemen anti terrorist guys are saying that they have at least 300 more alqueda guys planning more plane bombings. they are begging for our help to come kill them. maybe obama should tell the yemens to provide those terrorists with lawyers and constitutional rights...that would be a good idea right? after all janet napalotano siad that the system worked perfectly..err...failed perfectly...err. well she said both so i feel safe.

once again, egg on obamas face.

no need to worry though because more people are killed on our highways so it should be okay....yeesh!

It was really interesting to see it in action. It started with a quote (they were interveiwing the blonde that was Bushes press secretary) that Napolitono was talking about what was taking place afterward the event took place, and your news spread it like wild fire that she was saying everything was peachy.

So with that huge number of 300 people hiding out and trying to get the 70,000 planes that fly everyday, you are saying to invade yet another country that will allow them to flee to yet another country. All the while spending billions more and costing yet much more lives than they would ever get from terrorist events.

It is amazing that many of the same people that will deny global climate change being man made because we are so small and the earth is so big are worried about a few hundred people when they are in a sea of billions.

i tend to find the bbc to be more robust in their reporting than fox. but i think all of the news channels over here have got more intregrity than fox so thats not hard

i never insinuated they are lying. they reported it is what i said. i havent done any research yet to see if it is factual. doenst matter to me who reports it, i always check it through other sources.

all the news stations jump the gun on occasion ie. al gore is your president....err john kerry has won the election...err...dan rathers "secret" documents that show gw as the antichrist...those were all made by the big 3 networks. so i guess my point is, they all fuck up. i

believe this one will probably turn out to be true. but i will wait for confirmation.

and i didnt catch the whole report as to when they were released.

Maybe not, see your messiahs took her out of context, and ran with it saying she said that about the entire attack. She clearly was talking about what took place after the event went the way it was planned and not before.

And one thing I’d like to point out is that the system worked. Everybody played an important role here. The passengers and crew of the flight took appropriate action. Within literally an hour to 90 minutes of the incident occurring, all 128 flights in the air had been notified to take some special measures in light of what had occurred on the Northwest Airlines flight. We instituted new measures on the ground and at screening areas, both here in the United States and in Europe, where this flight originated.

Here is what she said. Notice what she is talking about, not that somehow the system worked by getting the terrorist on the plane, but what took place afterwards.

But hey why should we not just take everything out of context. Next time I hear someone say bless you I will just assume that they are Jesus Christ and trying to actually bless me.

unless you are trying to say that people on planes are supposed to enforce terrorists not to blow up planes.

the guy gets on a plane, with no baggage, a one way ticket, in a foreign country headed for a major US city, with a bomb, with no passport, tries to detinate it but by the grace of god it doesnt explode. his father called the embassy to telll us to keep our eye out for him and it was ignored. he also told them that his son has been in "trainning" in a jhadist camp and hasnt been seen for a couple months.....which part worked? her words not mine.

there was Zero part of the govt reaction that worked. the guy got on and would have killed at least all members on board and probably hundreds on the ground....but the system worked?

then she retracts, or more properly backtracks for damage control and you say, "hey, she was just misunderstood". riiiggghhhtt. yes, i am nuts good call.

i wonder what she would have said if the bomb exploded? maybe she would have jumped for joy?

and what "special measures" was she talking about? the govt totally let these people down by not protecting themeven though they had every red flag known to man. but hey....it worked and she is just misunderstood....

Yeah because of idiots that don't bother to actually find out what was being talked about. You don't seem to get that they hear about what is going on and end up with the same stupid story that you bought into.

So instead of being able to talk to us like adults and give us actual information, they have to coddle to the idiots that listen to something and don't have the sense to not just believe everything that they read. Your bible study group over on Fox news had already made up the story, and they wouldn't let something like it not being true stop them from going forward with you.

I wish I could find the clip, They even said that they were taking it out of context, but by the next commercial they dropped the other part about her talking on the measures after the incident.

But hey by now the made up story has real quotes and real people talking about it, so the fact that she was talking about the measures after an attack that they have set up (see they may need be prepared incase something does happen like a 9/11 that everyone coordinates rapidly), and they completely took everything out of context (psst which is akin to lying), doesn't matter because the real story gets burried and you get to be anti-obama.

Really, people like you make it that they can get away with this garbage.

And Rick face it, you just want somewhere to be a angry old man. This does need to be looked at, but do you really not get that this is how we are here in america? We bust ass get it done, then inevitably people get complacent and shit goes down, something wakes them up and they kick it up for a while and eventually things will lax again. The only thing that can be done is to get a system that is so tight and efficient that people have a long time until they need to tighten it up again (hopefully with newer much better technology).

This was a thread about what fox news is reporting if it didn't report the lies we may actually beable to have real conversations about it. Until then the lies that they report have to be sifted through first to figure out what actually happened.
