Have HPS bulbs been tested before ending in stores...or why look used

There is a lot of opinions on this thread also..people are reasoning what they think is correct..but lets face it a clean fresh unused
looking bulb is new for a fact...it would be nice if somebody would have a conversation with a big HPS manufacturer and could really post for example from Philips and Sylvania that do the lamps leave factory clean, white and new looking or with some amount of brown in the white tubes...because the white unused is a guarantee of a new bulb IMO...

I agree and don’t see a conspiracy I just see a bulb always that is dark at the shop
While on the side of that one is a fresh white one.. when I first started I won’t lie I didn’t check and when I got home my bulb was dark and had scratches.. so it’s just really a heads up for newbies.. check the bulb the cleaner the better IMO. I would never order online for
That reason I was going to get them off amazon for 65 but in the comments you can see that most ppl get used bulbs..

I dont like hps bulb threads cause it reminds me mine is long overdue a change.

A while ago someone made a thread about old bulbs blowing up - he got trolled off pretty quick.

Stfu :-)

Another thing, does anyone else have a hard time getting a bulb in and out?

My e40 seems to want me to screw in till breaking point before it finally clicks into place on the last thread, bulbs practically cracking with the force, scary times having to do changes :-(
I thought there was sand in my outlet the first time I screwed a bulb in my new hood and it felt like the bulb locked up. I used a dry, fine, scotchbrite pad to polish the outlet, unplugged, because I could feel the coarseness of the plating, then put dielectric grease on the threads. So much better.

Yer i think maybe if i scrub off some of the coarseness, that is probably whats holding it back.

Thanks great idea:-)

You cheap bastard!!
Have you tried omega bulbs. Supposed to output slightly more than most and slightly less than Hortilux at a 3rd of the price.

Yeah, why don't you hit them up and ask them yourself?

Here ya go. Almost 600.00 in bulbs. I'm NOT happy with the 2 bulbs on the left. Clearly look used or at least tested for a bit. I wont name the company, as I think they are or were a site sponcer here.

All bulbs were ordered same time, same shipment, etc.

I agree I put the name Protopia up there, gave them proper acknowledgement on Amazon reviews and started a thread about those scumbags on here too, they sold me a bulb that looked more burnt than the bulb I was replacing!!!

I buy only Vivosun now, I've never gotten a used bulb and they are packed very securely
Vivosun puts out a decent inexpensive bulb. My entire setup is their equipment.

Can I ask what the difference is then between a top of the line bulb and a cheap $10 bulb if you're just going to use it 1 time? Or do you have to be expert level to see the benefits?
Not enough to make up the difference, in price!

Bull shit! Utter Bull shit!

Bring on your high priced, name brand bulb.
Bet I'll beat you with my Plantmax common Green House bulbs.....

All that spectrum tweaked stuff is mostly crap on a cracker and advertised as such by proffessional turd polisher's (most likely hired away from the Republican's)..

NO WAY you can get anywhere near that amount! Not even a whole zip!

You should actually try it before you stick your neck out......PLEASE don't bother attempting to defend your undefendable claim!
