Upset... Nate Diaz rear naked choke over Connor McGregor.
Two pretty skocking outcomes for UFC 196; rear naked chokes are no joke.

@EfficientWatt

I was the exact same way when I built the Frankenstein Crowns back in 2014, extremely jubilant about my first cob DIY work and pushed everyone new to the scene to try it for the fun. I learned with the following cob diy project that there was vast room for improvement in terms of my craft.

How do you perceive my products to be the lowest in performance? What do you base performance on? PPF? Efficiency? What variables are you factoring in when you compare my lights to HPS? 600W? 1000W? Reflector? No reflector? Did you take into account that my fixtures are equipped with a dimmer switch? Did you take into account that my fixtures offer better spread and cob spacing, due to their size, than other brands? Did you consider the optics used and the underrated impact they ultimately make on our canopies, not our walls and ceilings? How convenient is it to force customers to have to place their lighting fixture 6" away from canopy for optimal performance??

It sounds like you're relatively new to the application and technical side to cob fixtures, EfficientWatt, regardless of your time as a member here so here's a bit of ease for ya. I've tested 600W HPS/MH and 1000W HPS/MH, with premium bulbs, hoods, ballasts, fans and tents and recorded those results. It turns out the Mothership blows both 600W HPS and MH out of the water with respect to PAR readings at similiar distances and consumes less wattage, around 150W less. Of course the Mothership can be ran at various currents, so there's no need to run her at this level of high performance. Those recordings can be found on my resource page.

@OneHitDone

Does a General take orders from a Captain? The mothership is relatively new to the scene, should have a grower or two in the coming months showcasing it's potential.

"Your tests" are a joke, every pseudo test you have shown is BS. Stop pretending you have done extended tangible testing of anykind, we both know it's a lie.
Please don't pretend you know anything about me, or how new I am with leds or cobs.

You've been caught trying to discredit people with *much* better understanding than you, multiple times here. You are pushing your lights onto newbees cause you know anyone who understands fairly well cobs would never buy one of your lights.

If you read what I wrote it's pretty clear what I'm comparing, PPF/W output.
Your lights are weak in relation to what can be made. My point of view, end of story.
Live with it.

My tests are a joke? Why don't you prove your claim instead of openly discrediting my efforts without any proof? Why don't you first build your own diy cob fixture and then recommend what people should and shouldn't buy? Like you said before, it's not that difficult, right? How long have you been apart of this community, 5 years and still no diy fixture?

Let's clarify: who'd I try to discredit and what matter do they possess a better understanding of?

PPF is a good reference, as well as efficiency but PPF/W doesn't mean jack to me. Again, your lack of knowledge and experience over this matter precedes you, EfficientWatt. Don't sweat it though, there's a few other jokers here that replied to this thread that share the same inexperience and dislike for me. They will likely continue their efforts to discredit my character and company for no good reason but will subsequently boost the awareness of Heaven Bright and it's products like they have from this thread.

I said it before and I'll say it again, love and hate only fuel my drive.

All this arguing is so lame! We get it some people here don't like AP. This thread is not about him, it's about his lights and the bottom line is that they are dollar per watt the best deal out there that i know of excluding diy. Is it the best build? No it's not, but everything is mounted and wired correctly. Did he borrow heavily from other LED makers? Yes he did and I'm not defending him, but as a customer I am happy that I got a light that looks like a Tasty/ PLC hybrid. More than a few people here think diy is an option for all but its not. The best lights I've seen are diy, some amazing builds in this forum and definitely the most economic way to go for some but not all. This thread is about the best non diy cob fixture. I don't truly feel that there is an overall best out there. I love the PLC light but have no use for it, I originally was going to go Optic but read bad things about the company. I fell in love with the timber because of the build quality but could not afford 2. I also was considering Tasty and Area 51 but they had no stock. I considered Go Green and Johnson but I would have needed 4 units run at half power to get the coverage that I wanted and I just didn't want to spend the money. At first Heavenbright was in the same category as PLC because I didn't need a mothership but AP put out the mini Mo and the bottom line is for the same quality components (cree/vero/meanwell) at roughly the same wattage from these other companies will cost about $200 more give or take. Out of all the companies I corresponded with, Timber, Heavenbright and Tasty had the best overall customer service. AP responded faster than anyone and was really easy to get in touch with. AP in order for your company to have success among members in this forum and other you are going to need to do some test grows ASAP or get a forum member to do it for you. Test on paper are great and all but at the end of the day we all want to see real world performance. In the meantime everybody needs stop bickering, because it clogs up threads of useful information. Throw hands or just agree to disagree.

LoL

PPF alone doesn't say anything about efficiency.
PPF/W IS a metric of efficiency.

2.4 ppf/w is 20% more efficienct than 2ppf/W.
It's that simple, but seems even a simple metric you are not used to, is just to hard for you to decipher.

Out of respect for OP, and others, I'll stop this conversation, I beleive I made my point.

:peace:

PS : Stop making assumptions about me. I've made more builds than you think .. all between 2.4 and 2.8 ppf/W .. Way out of your league of >1.9 ppf/W.

And there is the almost forgotten Hans panel, just another option.
You know if you live in North or even South America you may want to give a real good thought before buying one. If you ever have to ship it back you're gonna not like the cost and hastle of shipping it back with the added onus that Hans wants you to claim the cost of the panel to be no more than $35.00 otherwise there is some tax or tarrif he's suppossed to pay and which also means it's very difficult to insure at it's actual value.
I mean he's great with getting back to you with problems, I fucked it up and knocked out a section of the flowering mode with water :wall: but he was still willing to repair/swap it with less than two months left on the 2 year warranty. Still, at this time, I would say it's just not worth crossing the Atlantic for anymore.

I had one but sold it when I went DIY, Mine kicked out some good bud with no problems.

.... PPF/W doesn't mean jack to me .....

How is that NOT a bad sign ?

A light designer that doesn't give a damn about how much light is produced for each watt of electricity ?

@PurpleBuz

PPF/W is determined by a few different variables, mainly by current. The error in @EfficientWatt 's argument/point is that he left out the fact that my fixtures possess a dimmer knob, so my PPF/W for my fixtures can be attuned to various levels and aren't just limited to 1.82 PPF/W and can actually go upwards to 3.4 PPF/W if fixtures are dimmed down a spell.

And with enhancements such as the sticker below, hitting specific PPF/W values can be easily obtained with my products.

There are so many other important factors that take precedence over a PPF/W calculation that most of you are unaware of, simply because you're NOT light designers, simple as that.

But try again.

Edit:

@Rahz

They really are.

+1 vote for tastyled. Might not be the cheapest/watt (I think they're still relatively cheap), but it's a solid product, Rahz(the owner/creator) is quick with his response on these forums, and the rectangular 2cob fit perfectly in my small rectangular grow (was actually one of the only products to come with a rectangular footprint). It has a dimming switch for veg/flower and the active cooling (while probably unnecessary with the size of the heat sink) is very effective, functioning much the same as a video card in a computer would (intakes air from the top on one side which is pushed across the heat sink and out the other end which is open).

I'd say the only negative about tastyled is that it didn't come with a power cable, but it uses a pretty standard power cable and I had a million laying around (i think most people do too.)

(I really like typing things in parentheses.)

O, an I/O switch? That's cool, so it's like a built-in dimmer I take it or does like a light go out or something? I've seen a lot of 'straight outta China' panels have a similar wiring configuration where hitting one of the I/O switches turns off some of the lights.

Rahz get's it what most are looking for in a cob system. Emitters spread out, not all packed tight in a box!
