Horizontal vs Vertical lights

The only root issues I have is the occassional slight blockage at the drain sites in each post. I use 4 posts now with 8 sites in them but use 7 per post. My drains I use has a riser and screen now to help stop roots getting it but ocassionally some creep in so I just lift the plant closest to the drain and it pulls and roots away from the drain. I use 1/2 inch pvc pipe inside with 7 sprayers per post. Tne roots stay about 5-8 feet long inside and the level of water inside is less then 1/4 inch as it flows down hill as with these setups there is a gradual 2 inch slant down to the drain end by the res. I have a 50 gallon res and keep about 30 gallons of water in it and then top off as needed. If you get a chance can you get a picture of the inside tube I wanna see how they have thier insides setup as I havent seen the insides on these yet just other companies designs.

My tubes are slanted too, ever so slightly though, I keep the water in them about 3/4 to 1 inch deep.

I like to let the roots go down the drain, then they get a little bit of and NFT treatment - then they go into the res and get some DWC action.

There are 12 sprayers per tube, here are some photos I got of them.

Thanks for the look see.So it looks like they use 1/4 inch pvc pipe with 12 small drill holes in each line basically making a flooded root zone crossing NTF and flood and drainhmmm guess thats a good alternative to aero misting. On the opposite end of the posts in the end cap is the tube inside held up by something inside like maybe it comes through the end cap for support?

It gets some good aero spray too - there are tons of little droplets flying all over in there.

Basically the "laser lines" are held by little rings that are glued in there and a gasket on one end cap holds it in place.

Changed res to aggresive bloom formula:

Used GH 3 part and also added Cal/Mag and Hydroguard - also had to add a little bit of PH down.

PH 5.9
Res temp 68F
PPM 2150 on EC
Room temp 74F
Humidity 51%

All is going well and smooth, this by far has been the most easy grow so far.

"Knocks on wood"

I'll do pics at 4 weeks 12/12.

I'm starting to get excited :P They are getting all sticky and stinky.

I added some tunes and started the Co2 - only a few more weeks to go!!

5 weeks and a day of 12/12 :

Still on Aggressive bloom feeding.

PH 5.8
Res temp 67F
PPM 2250 on EC
Room temp 73F
Humidity 49%

I waited until the HPS went off, but my camera is bullocks or I need help taking pics

Going well, starting to plump up and getting really frosty. I tried to get pics of the frosting going on but they got blurry... I think I need to just take a lamp in there because I think the flash in the dark is too much and the HPS just messes it all up.

Going to change the res tonight, maybe I'll try again right before the HPS comes on.

Check it ->

Those look great! I have found that the beach setting with the flash on and the macro as well gives me the best results with the HPS on (I am just assuming that you have an auto digi, even then you can set it manual but the above mentioned tip will be easier unless you know). I really would love to have the ability to attain a med card. Wrong state :(.

Changed the res tonight - in 10 to 12 days I'll go to the ripen res, then about a weed after that I'll start the flush out.

After Resevoir change:

PH 6.0 <- a little high but I'll test again and adjust if still high tomorrow
Res temp 66F
PPM 2200 on EC
Room temp 71F
Humidity 47%

Messed with my camera and I think I have figured out how to take some shots now... Couldn't get pics of the top colas very well with the HPS on but I think I know how to right when it goes off. I ended up using the "beach" setting along with the "super close up" macro. (The flower +)

I'll try to get pics of the bigger colas tomorrow but for now check out these:

Nice job!

Actually I just checked, I cut them off the mother on 9/11 ( I know great date to pick  ) and the roots poked out on 9/18 and that's when I dropped them in the hydro tubes. So technically they are 6 weeks old not 5. 5 weeks of 12/12.

Looking very nice, I got the cold chills through my body looking at them buds, I started flowering two girls 12 days ago and one other that I topped 6 days ago, have you been to my journal lately? I've got updates, I added lights and the flowering is coming along nicely, I'm soo excited! I'm noticing a difference every day.

I can't wait to see your harvest, again Nice Job!
