How about we help?

I think it would be prosperous and nice for everyone with the information( quite a few of us), to go to the unaswered questions and help some people. lately it seems like most of us wont answer a post unless it is cracking on someones grow. In the hope of building a better communittty, we should all help out those who need it more, and keep our smartass remarks to the right place and time.

all i ever say is Check the grow faq or read the other posts about the same topic if the question is one asked every single day! seems simple enough to read the growFAQ and then ask a specific question related to what you are confused about instead of asking

"how do i grow marijuana"
"what light do i use"
"how do i put soil in a pot"
"where is my light switch"

heres the thing though. Most of us here want to know who we can talk to and depend on for real info, and if you just post "check growfaq" you arent really buildign a bridge of trust between the persons on here. It's all about the positive vibrations.

yes, i think people who post read the FAQ are just wasting space for a post that could of helped them or hell maybe they've never seen the FAQ who knows. But i've realized i can't always find the same threads in the faq that i've already read.

I think the pressure of doing something so illegal is making some of us angry stoners.

and 40acres i wanna see how those LEDs do for ya

ah ok, i think the efficient LED technology for growing is still a couple years away, Unless they start making them have the lumen output of a HPS, i'll never go with them

I think that's a great idea! In fact I've already been doing this... why? Because I get frustrated when I put up a thread and no one responds to help (which is most of the time). I feel guilty if I bump my own damn unanswered thread so I wait it out and feel lucky if I get one response.

Yes I've read the grow faqs... yes I've searched out other threads... and yes I've read my fucking book... SO WHAT! This is a forum.... people talking to each other and sometimes we just want to talk to others about our specific problem.... even if it's something that has been posted a million times before.

Honestly it pisses me off when I see people post short nasty comments like "check the grow faqs dumbass". Those kind of comments are completely unnecessary.

I think the thing to remember here is our gardens are very personal and very important to us...... and sometimes we may have problems that we KNOW what the answer is... but we still want to talk to others about it... get different input. Isn't that what a forum is all about?

If someone is sincere in their question and asks for help and you can't possibly bear to post the same answer you've posted a 100 times before then simply move on.... no need to belittle the poster for asking for help.

Remember.... sometimes just a little sympathy and "sorry I have no idea" post can make a poster feel like people in our community care.

There... that's my 2 cents :peace:

yes if you got the time to say "Go The Read Grow Faq" you got time to give them a link to the damn page their lookin for. otherwise, find a new thread to terrorize

how about we help? how about others do their own homework.

when I started off I didnt post a bunch of questions and useless threads. I dug deeply into the grow journals, and took maaadd advantage of the search feature and of google. I used google so much that I had to cancel my Gmail account for fear of being caught!

People are new to growing, theyre not new to using the internet and using search engines. Its not fair for us to feel 'obligated' to help any particular person.
I am by no means discouraging the idea of ppl answering some unanswered threads. Even I go back and **bump** older useful threads to the top and look for threads with 0 replies.

But to be obligated to do that is another issue.

If people are too sensitive to the replies "check the grow faq" and "use the search feature, buddy" then they obviously are too stuck on their egos and need to learn to listen to the advice first, then catch feelings later.

i agree with spittin. Im not saying Im not willing to help. hey some questions need to be answered without "check the growFAQ" but what i notice is a bunch of questions from people who have maybe posted less than 10 times on the forum asking about what kind of lighting is good. and i know thats not hard to find in the grow faq or by reading the next 10 posts below it that say the same exact thing.

Im very helpful when it comes to clarifying a confused persons issue but when its simply answered in the "how to grow marijuana" section of the growFAQ and in the day and age where we all know how to use computers theres not really an excuse.

if its a legit question Ill answer to the best of my knowledge.

I agree with Superhighme and Spittn4cash...before you jump in and ask a question, go to the FAQ. I mean how hard is it to look at the main web page to find the FAQ. I still look at the FAQ before posting a question. I bet most people asking the same old basic questions are the one's who are not old enough to be on this site in the first place. And no...just because I answer a post by saying "look at the FAQ" doesn't mean it takes the same amount of time to answer the question. I mean come on... do the basic research like most of us do...I mean the "How much weed can I grow in a 3'x2' space" or.." Please help quick" are just bullshit..

I am much more likely to respond positively to a thread which begins,
I wondering about *****. I know ********** from reading ************, but does that mean that my plant will recover if I *************?
I do agree that abuse is not help, however, a kind reminder to meet us half-way where the information is so readily available everywhere is not an unreasonable response.

Everyone has had a problem thats in no book..(or so it seems)...I've looked for stuff and not found a thing..then ask and hope someone knows what the f*** I'm talking about......It's the "can I piss on my plants" shit that annoys the crap out of me.....
