Totals are in. Not as great as I had hoped but still beat any harvest under a 600w hps I've ever had. Just under two ps from the diy light. 650g of gsc and 215 g off holy grail. I'm positive with better temp and more plants less veg I could break 2. The area 51 tent pulled 611gs under 700w. Not to shabby for an og dominant pheno and a girl Scout so cut. By far the best quality I've had. Coated in trics and smaller but more dense nugs. I'll snap some. Pics of finished flowers tomorrow and throw them up. Cookies finished with lots of purps and blue in her. Beautiful bag appeal and stanky as anything I've smelled. So 865/600= 1.4 gpw on the diy led. To contrast in tables 30 rooted clones flipped in hydroton on a table with 600w hortilux nets me about 450-600g on a flawless run. So needless to say I'm jacked. First time Coco as well so factor in the noob flaws I'd say the sky is the limit with my temps dialed in as well as some more Coco experience.

Good job there!

I've been watching your thread with great interest. I've recently finished my own COB build, 4 lights, each with 2 bars of 4 COBs (32 total) with 2 dimmable 1,400ma Mean Well drivers. It's also my first go with Coco. I'm loving it, now that I got my head around the fact that you actually have to feed the plants from the get go! I've only got 3 of the new lights up at the mo as I've got some plants finishing under a 600w hps at one end and wasn't sure if they would like it if I swapped the light. I have just put a bunch of new plants under the COBs to flower and am running the lights at .700ma, which seems to be plenty. My plan is to boost it to 1.04 in a couple more weeks.

I was wondering if you dimmed the lights in the last couple of weeks like you mentioned near the beginning of the thread?

Update: Starting my week and a half or so flush tonight. Looking at the trics and plants they will be ready within the next couple weeks. I usually take them down at 65 days under hps but they look done almost a week early. Still not much amber but lots of milky so i will wait the 62-65 days and take them down. Want to get a nice and proper flush on these babies to get the best final product. Right now compared to the same cuts run in my buddies grow under 600 hortis my flowers look smaller but when you squeeze them they are twice as dense. Much more color under the leds as well. Had some cool temps but still looking to be on track for my best gpw ever. Will post pics before chop and dry weights. By far the greenest and most triked out flowers ive ever had. Usually by now i have some leaf fade but this run their as healthy as ever. Smell is off the charts. You can see the two different strains in the overhead picture pretty well. The stretchier golf ball purple nugs are the GSC and the green leafy ones are my Holy Grail Kush cut from DNA. Shes usually a stretch monster but for some reason this run stayed very short and stocky which im thinking came from the foliar feeding off Bio Cozyme by growmore the first two weeks after the flip. Ive known a few people who have tried this and said it worked and i now have anecdotal evidence myself it works. Anyway here are the pics before the beginning of the end ! The one picture you can see the mylar in the back is a flower obviously on the edge of the 5x5 but is still looking pretty damn nice for being on the edge of the coverage design of my light. Uber impressed with the performance of this light. Im going to build another soon but i think i will run them at 75w each with the same type of setup but bigger spacing between . Cover more area with more light. A little less efficient but from what im seeing i dont feel i would see much of a difference except more yield and better coverage. We will see, eventually my whole setup will be cobs and im sure i will have people wanting me to build them some after i show them the results. I already have people asking me based on what theyve seen already and thats without seeing or weighing the final product. Cheers!
An awesome grow...documented build to finish. I see build-wise you are thinking of going to 75w a cob and spreading them out. This is a copy of some math that Supra did:

@49.7%
(2) CXB3590 3500K CD 72V @ 1.05A (75.5W ea) $95
(1) HLG-185H-C1400 (running at ~1050mA) $65
151 dissipation W -> 76W heat ->
passive cooled heatsink 9120cm² -> (2) 10"X10" heatsink $75
or
active cooled heatsink 3040 cm² min -> 3.5" X 30" heatsink (for spread) $40 + 80mm fan+psu $10
or
(2) Arctic 64 Plus CPU coolers $26
(2) lenses $8
75 PAR W covering 4ft² = 840 PPFD
75 PAR W covering 5ft² = 672 PPFD
$243 = $3.24/PAR W passive cooled
$218 = $2.91/PAR W active cooled on bar heatsink
$194 = $2.59/PAR W active cooled on CPU coolers (uniform spread, best value?)

I think with your number of cobs, and going to 75w, you would be in the 700ish PPFD in your 5x5. A very productive PPFD and a step up from the spread you have now. And look at the results you got with what you have! Looking forward to HPS Killer 2.0 Thanks for sharing.

I didn't dim the last few weeks as it was too damn cold out and was struggling to keep it above 70 lights on. So figured dimming wouldn't help save terps as it was already pretty cool in there and didn't seem worth it to dim. I will be trying it next time depending on temperatures.

On to the next run. I ordered more cobs for another setup. 16 cxbs at 50w each for my gorilla 5x5. Right now I'm running a d/e air cooled in that tent and doing a little test. The gorilla has 9 plants from seed vegged for 5 weeks and my cob 5x5 has 6 clones vegged the same amount if time. Not a true side by side for sure but it will give me an idea. I've never run a double ended before always single thouies so well see what the difference between the two is. Flipped both on the 23rd. Pics show the cob side and the hps side. Pumped to see what both will do with warmer temperatures.

So your saying it was a HPS killer grow ??? You ran 600 watt of Cob lighting to get under 2 pounds ?? So you had 6 plants plus how many holy grail ???
Also was wondering how did you know the ppm of C02 in that mushroom bags did it come with some sort of dial ???
Or you have sniffer ?? and if so why would you not run bottle instead ??? Just think with cob lighting being so much cooler then Hid adding C02 would be a moot point i mean useless you added heat .
Cause you never get it up to optimal temps were in the 90 - 92 degree F range and DE hueying like a mofo when we run C02 supliment
Have tested the sugar n water mickey mouse Hydro store bought c02 boosters and kits there a waste of money and produce very little ppm if any i highly doubt you were in the 900 ppm range but more in the - 450 tops

Nice grow non of the less i am finishing up some cherry pie 2 plant 600 watt HID 18 gallon no till Although its not a huge yielding plant i think for 2 plants might just surprise my self another 2 - 2.5 to go i am guessing anywhere from 1.5 up but we will see they were vegged 2 weeks under 150 watt Hid then 2 weeks under 600 and flipped there beasts last pic is top view
I am more of big boy 1k grower found one of my old 600 watt units thought give it a try lol

I'd say it was up to par of a thouie. Problem was in peak bloom with lights on I was only hitting 68f so way to cool. Now I'm up to 78f all the time because of the DE exhausting into the same space. I won't buy another hps ever if that's what you want to know. I'll keep my old setups for when it's cold and I need heat but otherwise I'll be running strictly leds especially in the summer. The co2 bags were just given to me and I figured I wasn't pulling a whole lot of fresh air as it's a detached building with no heat so I was just recirculating the air because I needed all the heat I could get. So extra c02 is a bonus

Update a week into flower. Stretch is on should have laid some trellis down before flip but may just throw it on for more support this weekend. Want to be on herm watch with fems from seed so may not trellis that tent until I'm sure I won't be yanking one. You can tell what tent is what based on the lighting. Here are some pics. The holy grail kush grew much faster then usual this veg and are the three at the front in the LED tent. The back three are cookies. The hps tent has a couple different strains. Purple og 18 and djs gold by DNA a blue headband g13 labs and Burmese kush by th seeds. So far djs gold looking to be the winners out of the bunch. All along the outside.

I have had low-heat issues in the winter as well, but prefer that to high heat anyday.
I reverse exhaust and slow it down and i helps some.
Your grow looks great, and I expect it to give you the results you are after.

Start of week three. Everything is happy as can be. The holy grail kush is looking much different from last run. Much healthier going into bloom so they blew up big going into flower. The cookies looks the same as last run maybe a few less tops. Led tent is looking like its going to put out like I think it should. The hps side is doing great as well. Feeding the hps tent just over half the strength of the led tent. Most likely because of the fact their from seed, also they are a little behind the led tent as they definitely aren't as mature as the donors of the led tent. I'm super pumped looking at the Djs gold phenos I have. Three kosher dominate phenos and 2 more blueberry looking with the crazy ridges on the fans. Even the Burmese kush freebies from th seeds are looking nice. Big leaves open structure lots of tops. Cant wait to see how each one turns out and find my diamond to run again. Going to keep a steady stream of my mother's going as well as always have a seed run on the side pheno hunting. Up next I have Florida Gold from DNA which is supposed to be the crippy s1. Looking for some straight daaank in there. Here are some pics,

End of week three. Full bloom is on! Clones looking nice and full. Plants from seed under the hps are much stretchier. Got a bunch of different phenos. The Burmese kush from th seeds is supposed to be a fast finisher. One looks as far along as the clones I run and the other barely looks like it's in flower yet. The same with a couple of the djs gold. Doesn't look like I have many blueberry dominant phenos. More stretchy og phenotypes but that's fine. Maybe one blueberry pheno. I cleaned up below the skirt on the hps tent and will do the same with the led tent when I get a chance. Here are a few snaps of how things are coming along.

Week 5 Bloom
Everything in the LED tent is rocking. Definitely going to smash my last harvest as long as nothing devastating happens in the next four weeks. The hps pheno hunt tent is looking like 7/9 strains won't be done by week 9. That's how it goes I guess. They weren't completely mature when going into bloom, but after this run the mom's will be nice and mature and hopefully get a quicker start next run. The DJs gold are looking to be some fire and have a dank smell to them. So far the star of the pheno hunt is the Burmese Kush from th seeds. Quick flowering on par with my led tent and dank lemon pledge smell. Chunky buds with tight internodes. Very surprised and happy with that one. Hard to see her in the back left corner but she is impressing me more everyday. The LED side is looking super frosty and tons of tops. The holy grail kush looks more like what I'm used to her looking like this run. She stretched out better and filled out better this run and is looking dank. Temperatures are in the mid 70s lights on and mid 60s lights off which is much warmer then last run where I was in mid 60s lights on. Here are some snap shots of a couple days ago. Having issues with uploading pics so will do pic update tomorrow

hahah i had issues uploading them. here are a bunch from the last two weeks. Trialing some mendocino avalanche this run to compare and see if the hardener claim is legit. I really like growmore and run a bunch of their stuff in my rooms. I have good feelings all round with this stuff. first five are the cxb 3590 tent at end of week 5. HPS tent update coming soon. Looks like i have a couple phenos that are going to take longer then 9 weeks which is pretty annoying. But we will run em and see how they are. Usually finish a week faster once their more mature. Will keep updating more. Also purchased 9 cxb 3590 6500k DD i beleive the bin is for veg. Gonna run them at 50 w each in bars of three to cover the new 5x5 veg tent. Should be plenty of light at a max of 450w

I have a short 2'x1.5' veg/mother box with 40W of vero 18 5000k at 500mA so about 49% efficiency... so 13.333W/sqft? The plants will hit the lights after about a foot tall.
Thanks dude. Got my hands on some 6500k DB x9 for my 5x5veg going to do 50w each and spread them out on 40" passive heatsinks. Couple snaps from the area 51 tent with the cookies. Frosty as a mofo. Been slacking this run, way to much on the go. Had a buddy see what's happening with my leds and gave me some loot to build him 4 750w lights. So needless to say been uber busy. Don't want to see a tap again for a while. Will post some pics of my diy tent and the thouie tent before harvest. On the second week of flush now so their a little rough looking but will be quality meds for sure!
