Today is the day!!!

Harvest time in the GOD tent

Well after checking all the trichomes and looking at the bud formations it seemed that its time to take these ladies down
Last night I chopped all the plants and they are currently hanging to dry.. should be about 1 week before I trim them up and then jar them for curing as well as I will take measurements on weight and g/watt to see how they GOD's did.

My current impression is, I'm very impressed..LOL The buds were all extremely dense, and frosty and they smell unbelievably stinky so all good signs in my book. The buds were smaller than many of my other grows, but for using only 340W I think they produced extremely well.

Here are the photos before and after the chop

The Budmaster COB tent update:

Well as all the plants from the GOD tent were trimmed yesterday and today I cleaned out the flowering tent in preparation for moving over some of the vegging plants to the flowering tent. I have not yet decided which strains will continue on to flowering and which ones may get left behind for next grow, or iv I will just flower out all 8. I took clones of all the strains in the COB tent today using my typical technique of clonex, a humidity dome, 26w cool white cfl and root riot plugs.

Here is my video on how I do cuttings for cloning.

I did add I clipping of my aloe plant to the water which is different from the video, but other than that everything else is the same.

So along with taking clones I gave the plants in veg another haircut and did some pruning/topping of the plants to reduce their height and to help fill in the canopy. I figure since it will be about a week before I put them into flowering or so in the other tent, that will allow them to recover and get ready for flowering.

I am still running the Gas Lantern routine and the plants seem to love it and are thriving

Other than that not much else to report on. Here are the photos for today

So I spent most of this morning as well as last night trimming all 7 of the plants from the GOD tent. The one thing I noticed immediately was how fragrant the plants were. I mean they smelled absolutely amazing but also extremely pungent and Im almost certain anyone walking by my apartment could smell it. I did one plant at a time and kept the tent closed as well as burned incense to help mask the immediate smell but man... so potent!!!! I'm legal and all in my state, but still don't want to "broadcast" my hobby. LOL

I made sure this time to let the plants dry a full week before trimming/manicuring them and jarring them because of what happened last grow when I rushed things, and the buds were perfectly dry, with just a slight bit of moisture deep in the buds which will help the curing be smooth Aftter trimming all the plants I weighted each one and the total weight of this harvest was 228.1Grams or .67 Grams per watt.

Here are my total weights for all of my grows and G/w
Grow 1: 1000w HID (400w CMH + 600w HPS) Total yield 574g or .57 grams/watt
Grow 2: 1000w HID (400w CMH + 600w HPS) Total yield 547g or .55 grams/watt
Grow 3: 1000w HID (400w CMH + 600w HPS) No Yield Data (Powder Mildew took over)
Grow 4: 1000w HID (400w CMH + 600w HPS) Total yield 325g or .33 grams/watt
Grow 5: 580w (400w CMH + Mars II 400w) Total yield 245g or .42 grams/watt
Grow 6: 540w LED (3x Mars II 400/180w models) Total yield 308g or .57 grams/watt
Grow 7:>300w LED (2x Intelligent Gro, GEN1, 180w each on dimmer) Total yield 191g or .63 grams/watt
Grow 8: 540W LED (3x Intelligent Gro, GEN2, 180w draw each) Total yield 367g or .70 grams/watt
Grow 9: 494W LED (2x Advanced LED XTE300, 247w draw each), Total yield 391.4g or .79grams/watt
Grow 10: 750W LED (3x Advanced LED XTE300, 247w draw each, Total yield 475.1g or .63G/Watt
Grow 11 (2x Advanced LED first 30 days of flowering (247w each), 2x Budmaster COB-x-4 at 400w total) Total yield 327.7g or .81g/watt @ 400w, .65g/watt @500w)
Current Grow, 340W (2x Budmaster GOD-4, 170w draw each), Total yield 228g or .67 Grams/watt.

So overall the Grams per watt seems to be towards the higher side of my LED grows, but my yield was way down this run. Now this I believe is due to a couple things...
-I had an overwatering issue in mid flowering which seemed to stall out the plants
-The plants had gotten way too tall, and required constant adjusting and supercropping and overall got much too close to the lights, which caused shading of some of the plants in between the lights, as well as the lower canopy.
-Very low wattage used in total

Now I know that Grams per watt is only really a gauge of my rate of success in my personal grow, however even between grows things change such as nutrients used somewhat, watering frequencies, temp and humidity...etc... so I only use gram/watt in sort of a broad range aspect, of how decent overall the efficiency of my grow space is, and not an indicator of a lights performance since every grower is different...

Now on the plus side, even though the weight was low and the gram/watt was mid-high range of what I normally get, the one thing that really stands out with the GOD grow is that the buds were unbelievably fragrant. The Ogiesel which I sort of use to guage the success of the grow and have run it probably on 5 different grows under different lights is a pretty key indicator. This grow under the GOD panels took the Ogiesel to a whole new height, I mean it was like a new strain to me the way it tasted when I packed a bowl. Just utter skunky and the sour diesel came out very strong along with the og, just complete mouth watering dank smelling and tasting. The best flavor and overall quality of my ogiesel to date very pleased.

As far as the other strains, the same is true, and all came out extremely fragrant and potent smelling and loaded with trichomes. I will snap some photos of the individual strains later but I'm tired after a long day of working on my garden and apartment, time to relax after this post

I definitely am happy with the budmaster GOD's and with 340w total draw I wasn't expecting much as far as yield which proved true, however the quality of the buds was I would honestly say the best I have grown yet.. they are absolutely mouth watering

Hey everyone!!!

Update time!

The Budmaster COB tent (veg):

The COB tent is coming along quite nicely as the plants grow in size and gain health. I'm still having issues with my Harlequin which has been tempermental since the clone was put in the soil and I'm wondering if it had to do with me cloning the plant when it was in bad health. It doesn't seem to want to be happy and will grow a few sets of new leaves and then the others get discolored.

Its in the same soil as all the other plants and I have been making sure to feed my plants water feedings at a 6.5 ph (or around) using either fish juice to lower ph or potassium silicate to raise it. All the other plants seem healthy for the most part but Harlequin is just not happy. Its getting better, but still compared to the others its being the problem child. LOL oh well, hopefully in the next week it will get better.

So I have my next feeding on bubble currently, which is a compost tea consisted of my premixed and aging soil, a spoonful of bee honey, a sprinkling of biovam and a spoonful of biominerals along with some yucca extract and 20 ml of botanicare organic grow. I will be giving the girls a foliar spray tonight of the compost tea as well as feeding them tomorrow.

All the other plants are looking good. I'm still waiting on the clones to show roots before I flip this tent to flowering so I assume that by next weekend we will be in 12 12 but currently still using the Gas Lantern Routine and the plants are loving it. I haven't decided if I will be flowering all 8 plants or removing a few but most likely I will just flower all 8 since I have clones of each rooting. I took extra clones because most likely I will be putting up my 3rd grow tent again so that I can start my long awaited and postponed seed project.

Well here are todays photos

Smoke Report: Black Diamond OG...

Initial impression:

Well the black diamond OG was one of those clones that I picked up from the "clone Hacks" and most of what they gave me was absolute garbage, however, I think I struck it lucky with the Black Diamond OG. Through flowering the buds looked absolutely amazing and frosty but really weren't having a strong smell to them like other strains that I grow. They had little to no smell to them. This all changed though once harvested, dried and cured.

The smell:

The smell of these buds when dried is amazing, not extremely pungent where a nug would smell up a room, but when broken open or grinded the smell is very good. It has a very similar smell to a bubba kush and also GSC with a very earthy, sweet, hashy smell to it. You can definitely smell the power of this strain when you sniff the bud, and with all the trichomes you know you are in for a ride.

The Inhale:
The initial inhale of Black Diamond OG is very pleasant. The smoke is very smooth on the inhale with very little throat or lung burn and can be held in for a significant amount of time without discomfort. A very mild lung expansion does happen, but not to the point where you have to exhale out of discomfort. Upon the initial inhale the flavor is that of a sweet, smooth hashy, earthy and almost soapy (like an irish spring) taste which is very appealing. Not significantly overwealming in flavor, but very full flavored and complex

The effects:
The Black Diamond OG is defininitely a power house when it comes to the effects. Upon 1st inhale the feeling overwelms youand you can feel it right in the head and behind the eyes. It seems to be a more indica dominant strain and almost puts you into a creative trance where you definitely don't feel couchlocked, but concentrating on too many things would be bothersome and overwhelming. Such a great strain though for a intense project where focus is needed and really great for pain seemed a little visual on the effects too, almost like a slight tunnel vision from it. This is definitely more of a night time smoke or for relaxing than getting things done as after a while the intensity grows and it would be great for movies, relaxing, video games or a research project.

I am very happy overall with this strain and I definitely will be keeping her in the garden for a while. Very impressed

Smoke Report: Tangie pheno #5

Initial impression:

This tangie was grown from seed on my last grow which was then cloned, and these buds were from the tangie phenotype #5. Unfortunately last grow I was unable to taste #5 because it molded and was discarded so it was a pleasure being able to try this one. Out of 8 seeds I originally planted, 2 hermied and were removed and 1 never developed a scent or tricomes. #5 was the shortest of the bunch but grew very thick fat cola's on the first grow and on the second grow (current) it was also a decent producer. This is one of 3 of the phenotypes I really liked of the tangie, and may be one of the ones I keep.

The smell:

The smell of tangie #5 is very interesting. Upon initial smelling of the buds, broken up and grinded, this one smells very much orange/tangerine citrus, mixed with a almost carmel sweet smell and slightly buttery. A very good smelling bud and very fragarant and pungent upon disturbing or breaking up the buds, definitely one that will stink up a room (in a good way) just by breaking up a bud.

The inhale:

Upon the inhale, this bud is very smooth but does have a somewhat harsh throat burn, followed by a very smooth inhale. The smoke doesn't seem to expand in the lungs so a hit can be held in a very long time without discomfort. The taste is also very fresh and has a very sweet buttery citrus taste to it. Very yummy indeed:

The effect:

The effects of Tangie #5 is definitely more of a sativa dom feature. Very clear, energetic, uplifting high, but also not the best for concentrating on one thing as it definitely makes for a busy brain, racing with thoughts. A great strain though for daytime activities as it seems to act like a morning coffee and gets those eyes wide open . The high itself was very strong, and 1 bowl was enough to last quite a few hours. Great for anything active that doesn't involve deep concentration as it was very hard for me to keep a single train of thought. One of those highs that you start 5 projects and keep flipping back between them...LOL

Smoke Report: Fire OG

Initial Impression:

This cut of Fire OG also came from the unreliable "clone Hacks" so I was rather unsure if it was going to turn out good or not. As it flowered I could definitely tell that the genetics were a OG type by the growth structure and buds and as it got late into flowering I knew that this Fire OG was going to be a treat. The smell while growing was that of the typical OG kush smell, a lemony, fuel, skunky type smell.

The smell:

After the buds dried the complexity of fire og came out in the smell. It definitely wasn't the strongest smelling OG kush I have grown or had, where usually a small bud can fill up a room with odor, this one has a pungent smell when broken up and grinded, but not as strong as it probably could be. The smell is the typical OG kush smell, a very lemony, minty, pine skunky smell with a hint of a sweet lavender in the very background. It smells really good but again not as pungent as other OG's I have had.

The inhale:

The 1st few inhales of this strain were packed with delicious wonder, as the hit is very smooth but had a very heavy throat hit/burn followed by a smooth inhale. Lung expansion was minimal but noticeable, and a hit could be held in for quite a while. The flavor on inhale was very much OG kush like, with a lemony pine, minty skunky taste, much more minty than other OG kushes and had a almost toothpaste minty taste to it.

The effects:

The effects of this one are very strong. Initially you feel this one hit you right behind the eyes as almost you feel a hand on your head lifting up your eyes, and jaw and a whole headchange occurs very quickly. surprisingly this one as heavy as it was, also was very clear and seemed to be great for social situations where you feel the gift of gab emerging, as well as you feel very creative with this one. Thoughs are clear, and its easy to focus, however after smoking more the high becomes much more intense where this one would be good for painting, drawing, gaming or creative work as well as social outings. Not very much of a couchlock to it and kind of middle of the road as far as sativa/indica feel.

Smoke Report: Tangie #6 phenotype (purple)

Initial Impression:

This is tangie #6, the purple phenotype and one of the most beautiful in both looks while growing and bud formation. As far as the looks while growing this one is definitely one of my favorite phenotypes of the tangies I have. This also is one of the larger yielding Tangie phenos too which also is in consideration for the final choices of tangie to keep
I love these tangie strains as they are very easy going for the grow, not to finniky which is nice and seem to grow very hardy.

The smell:

The smell of this one is very very sweet, citrus and cheesy and a good blend of the smells. This one is also very pungent when the buds are broken up and grinded, and definitely smells amazing.

The inhale:

Upon the inhale, this phenotype really is smooth, with very little throat or lung burn. You can take a deep hit, hold it in for what seems to be forever with no discomfort. A very pleasant strain to smoke and the flavor is very sweet buttery with a strong citrus and cheese flavor.

The Effects:

This one is very very energetic and upon smoking you feel the high almost open your eyes like coffee in the morning would. You instantly feel very alert, clear headed and want to be active. This one defintiely doesn't have the "racy" thoughts with it and concentration is much easier than the phenotype 5 which leaves you dumbfounded at what you were just doing. This is a perfect smoke for a day out and about, working, or just general daytime activities. Very very good high and sativa dom with little to no couchlock.

Smoke Report: Ogiesel

Initial Impression:

Ogiesel is one of my favorite strains that I have on hand, and I have kept this strain going for at least 2 years. I usually use it as a gauge to tell my grow success and even though its never been a high yielding strain, the high and indica dominance of it is incredible. I usually call this strain my "night night" or "sleepytime" strain. There has been many occasions when I have smoked this strain, a few hits later and 4 hours later I wake up next to my bowl that is still half packed... LOL.

The smell:

Well this strain is definitely one of those that you smell, no matter what. Its extremely pungent and strong and even a small bud that is broken up or grinded will fill the room with a skunky OG smell. This run of Ogiesel proved to be the best smelling run I have done to date, and the smell of minty, skunky kush fills the room.

The inhale:

This strain is not for the faint of heart, or anyone wanting to get things done. Upon the first inhale you taste a very smooth hit with little throat burn but definitely the smoke expands when it is held in the lungs. not to the point of discomfort, but definitely a large hit would leave you coughing and gasping for air. Immediately upon inhale you taste a very minty, skunky, kush flavor that overwhelms the tastebuds and sits in the mouth for a while after smoking. One of those strains where the exhale fills the air with pungent smelling smoke and definitely nothing discreet about this strain.

The Effect:

Immediately after inhaling you feel yourself sink back in the chair or couch you are sitting on as the high engulfs you. The thought process is very clear and the high is very clean, but it just demotivates you completely and about an hour later after smoking this one you will feel really tired where all you want to do is close your eyes for a while. I smoked this one and literally passed out for a nice 4 hour mid day nap. Not intended, but I guess my body just needed it or the Ogiesel told me to...LOL

This is a very very strong indica strain and definitely a full couchlock feeling.

Grow Update:

The clones:

So as of now, some of the clones have rooted enough to be planted, and some are still taking their sweet time on getting roots out. I may take some more cuttings tomorrow if I don't see roots to make sure they root and so I can get my plants into flowering soon as they are getting large. The black cherry soda so far has 3 clones that all rooted, the fire og 2 rooted, the harlequin 1 rooted, and the tangie #6, 2 rooted. 3 cuttings were taken of each strain. Black Cherry Soda will be the first feminized seed to be produced in my upcomming seed project so I will keep 3 of this one, and 2 of all the others, one to mother/veg and the other will get cross pollenated with the black cherry soda.

Still waiting for roots:
Harlequin x1
Black Diamond OG x2
Tangie #3, x2
Tangie #5 x2
Tangie #6 x1 (one of the clones didn't like the soil and wilted, not enough humidity)
Ogiesel x2

Currently I am running this tent on the Gas Lantern Routine, and only using one of the GOD-4's on 1/2 power (85w) until the clones get situated in their new soil and start showing some new healthy growth.

The COB/VEG (soon to be flowering) Tent:

The veg/soon to be in flowering tent is doing amazing and I have corrected all the leaf issues on all the plants. It took me letting the soil really dry out a lot along with ph balancing my feedings and the plants have really shown some fast new growth and look very healthy. Today when I was moving up my COB lights, I noticed that one of the modules on one of the lights, the fan wasn't working, so I will have to contact BM to get a replacement, or just pick one up locally at the electronics store. Not too worried about it as these things happen and easily replaced but just figured I would note it as I do with any issues during light testing. I turned off that 1/2 of the panel until I get a new fan to prevent the COB from overheating.

The girls got fed today with just 2 cups of some water and botanicare organic grow I recently picked up. I like earth juice a lot but also wanted to try something new and so I saw the botanicare organic grow and figured I would get it instead of getting more earth juice which seems much harder to find at local stores.

After I either see the rest of my clones root, or take more cuttings I will be flipping this tent to flowering because the plants are really starting to get tall. I'm using the Gas Lantern Routine still and the plants seem to absolutely love it. The plants seem so much less stressed then they did on the 18/6 schedule which I love, plus saving more electricity which is money in my pocket. double win for GLR

Strain Review: Smoke Report: Tangie Phenotype #8

General:

This is the tangie phenotype that I cut from my last round, and I almost regret the decision after giving her another go round. Out of all the tangies this is the highest yielding one as well as seemed to actually need longer time in flowering than the others which seemed to finish much quicker. The reason I cut it was that the high last round didn't stack up to the others and the bud structure was very airy and funky. Now that I have run them all again, this one probably has the most unique, sweet smell out of all the phenos.

The Smell:

#8 definitely seems to rock a very sweet smell and its very pungent and pleasant. A close wiff reveals a very sweet citrus smell, like a fresh cut orange would smell, mixed with a carmel and cheese type aroma, this one definitely has some amazing scent. This is why I almost regret getting rid of the genetics last round as even though the buds were odd and ugly, the terps were off the chart and it would have been nice to breed into the other phenos or strains I have. Oh well, I still have some seeds left so I can always try again for her

The inhale:

The inhale of #8 is very smooth, no throat burn or lung expansion. It almost feels as though you are inhaling a flavored mist and its very enjoyable. The taste is that of a very sweet, citrus taste followed by hints of cheese. Overall the taste of #8 is amazing and is an enjoyable pheno overall.

The effect:

The effect of this pheno sort of comes on quite slow and non shalontly, and you don't really feel an immediate change. A few minute after smoking you realize that you feel more light, like the stresses have been lifted, and a slight energy comes on. The thoughts however are much more disfunctional and racy, so concentrating is very tough and even getting my fingers to type this seems like a task. Overall the high is good, and would be great for daytime activity which don't require steady concentration, like outdoors activities. This one sort of gives me an anxiety type feeling where I don't feel content inside, like I have to figure out what is not right and fix it, but can't pinpoint that thing to fix...LOL if that helps describe the feeling.

Overall even though the terp profile on this one is amazing, the racy, cloudy anxiety type effect it brings on is not my type of feeling I favor so I am glad I got rid of this pheno. I still enjoy it while its left but I think I favor the purple pheno and #3 still the most out of all the other phenos.

Strain Review: Smoke Report: Tangie #3

General:

This tangie was one of my favorites from last grow. It starts off in flowering having a very tar/asphalt smell with a cheese and sweet garlic smell but not much citrus. Even though one of the lower yielding of the phenos I have, and the buds are sort of foxtaily and knobby, the taste of this one is very good. I'm still debating whether to keep it or go with #5 as 5 has many similarities in sense of smell and taste but was a higher yielding plant and the bud structure was nicer. Still can't tell yet, have to do more testing...lol.

The smell:

The smell of this one once dried is very interesting, and very pungent. Its hard to exactly place the array of smells that make up the fragarence but its very heavy citrus/orange smelling, almost like smelling a slighly overripe orange mixed with spraypaint. It also has a garlic/spicy/pungent type smell to it which gives you that wow face when giving a squeezed bud a wiff, very fragarent.

The inhale:

The initial inhale of this one is very harsh on the back of the throat, and makes you want to cough instantly but after the smoke gets to the lungs its nice and pleasant where you could hold your hit in for a long time. The taste of the smoke is that of a very citrus orange with a sweetness to it. The taste is not extremely long lasting but its a very good taste and the exhaled smoke leaves a nice aroma of orange freshness in the air.

The effect:

This one again is one of my favorites for the effect out of the tangie phenos. Immediately upon the inhale you feel your energy level rise, your eyes seem to open up and your senses all "wake up" and become very active. The thought process is very clear and not overloaded and you feel very social and happy. Such a great day time smoke for getting things done, social outings, or even anything artistic or creative. You wouldn't want to smoke this one though if you were looking to get rest as it definitely shows off its sativa dom characteristics.

Overall I still really like phenotype #3 and it will be a hard one to cut from the final round, but we will do some more taste testing over the next few weeks as the bud cures longer and see which one takes the win..
