not sure bro, u just have tom play around with things and just go with ur gut and what feels like it will be good. less plants more veg time makes nice buds, lots of plants less veg time makes nice buds. i have no clue about ur lights or ur growing skills so its hard to say what durable, but nothing is impossible. ive pulled 19oz from 4 plants with my older 600w spectra led with 3 weeks of veg. but were talking different lights, setup and strains everything

this is some good info i got from a grower using the two spectras 180s comparied to his old 600w HPS setup

Sorry for the wait everyone, just started a new job and have been working 24/7 pretty much. Here are a few shots of some dried buds from the harvest. I'm still trimming on the rest(harvested in two parts), but yield looks to be just as good as the HID plant. Once I'm done trimming up the rest, I should have an initial smoke report. I can tell you that these are some frosty nugs, they feel like rock candy!

how high did u keep the lights bro?
I've been keeping them around 18-20 inches. Seem to get much better spread when you raise them up and they still penetrate pretty deep.
thats what i thought? seems ur mind was on to somthing. this is great info thanks very much

Mike was on the money.lol. i am thinking Mike is right and thats the guide line to start at
I was running a 600W hps prior to this. With the same strain, both grown in DWC, I noticed little to no difference in yield. Granted I don't have scales, so that is all by eye. Both plants filled four mason jars, but the difference is in the trich production. These buds are noticeably frostier, even for Sannie genetics, which is some frosty stuff to begin with.
this is great news! u may have just help change things and the way to grow with these leds. it seems ur mind was right closer isnt better, seem the PAR is real high from the lab test mike had done and its over loading the plants on some strains and just making them go yellow and weird stuff, remember my plants that died? well seems i may have had them too close? anyways ive been watching allot of these grows and it seems that the ones with the lights higher are getting better results then when closer. now some growers are doing fine with the lights close but most of the grows that are matching HID or doing better all have their lights further, not on purpose but for foot print but seem to work out in their favor.

I'm pretty sure GLH claims they will run in any country/voltage used in outlets

i am not sure on that one, i would contact the company and ask then to make sure?

it most certainly will work you just need to ask him for a 240 cord. If he doesn't have them ( I think he gives you the option actually) then you can pick one up. The female part on the LED plugin is the same shape and cord needed to plug in a computer power supply, and many other small appliances that don't have a built in cord.

check this out... does that end look like what you normally plug into your wall or surge protectors? http://www.powsolec.com/product/Power-supply-cord-Computer-10A-240V-A143A.html

because the other end, looks to be the same that goes into a computer power supply, or the spectra LED, or even my little boombox I have on the back patio ;) I have lots of these cords (well the 110 version for America)

should not be a problem (if Mike doesn't already take care of it).

I was going to order my 3rd 290w spectra on wednesday, but I posted that here and I think someone jumped on it because I called the next day about noon and he sold the last one 2 hours earlier hahahaha. so thanks whoever did that ! it caused me to get 2.5zips of some fantasitc purps, and the most gasoline smelling master kush I've ever seen (even in so-cal mmj despenseries). So I'm happy for now... but I do need more light. I think I just have to move the 600HID from veg to flower, and find me a cheapie 400w ballast and bulb for veg. I never run the 600@ 600w, I turn it down to 400 (too much heat in the upper portion of my double decker zone of 3x3x4 - so it was kind of a waste however it was like 30 or 40 more for the 600w digital ballast vs the 400 digi so I went for it. Made sense. Now it'll make sense in flower for heat and efficency.

man im baked and rambling, sry :)

very good point... that makes me feel better about it. In your opinion what do you think of two 180's in a 3.5' x 3.5' area?

sounds good to me, i look at it like this i rather have 2x180s over 1x290w just like i rather have 2x290's over one 500w unit. please do remember ive never seen the new 180's or 290's in person, but lots seem to love them. 2x180's should be good in that size area. i know i did 2x the older 180's (witch are not nearly as brite as these new ones) in my 4x4n tent and it was plenty of light, just remember that was a tent with reflective walls. these new ones are supposed to put the older ones i used to shame on how bright they are, so u should be more then good.

Really?? That is some damn great info!!! I have one of the new 180's in a 2.5 x 2.5 area and I am about to harvest one of the first plants that I put in the flower box after the new light was installed a couple months ago. but for me the proof is in the smoke.... not the scale.

I wasn't aware that you had two of the older ones in a 4' x 4' area. I didn't build my new area yet so maybe I will make it 4 x 4.

What height did you keep your older 180's from the canopy?

4x4 is a great size area. i never finished that grow because i swapped out the 180's for the new 240's that came out and had them like 12" and fried my plants or it was the PVC i used as a intake and it off gassed? not really sure what happen i think it was the light too close, but they were rocking under the 180's until i put the 240's in and had them too close.lol. either way it was a great fit for my 4x4 tent, and their not as bright as these new ones from what i here. whats cool about the 180's is way latter down the road u can always add another 180w and put 3 in a row and really setup ur game, u can also just use one for veg until they get bigger and turn on the other ones. dude i quoted up above and posted his bud pics is comparing his 2x180's to his 600w HPS so thats great news and this dude is no BS'er and i big HID fan. i never used the new ones but plan on doing it.

heres what he was saying

Here's a few pics from today, she's still packing on the weight and getting super frosty. I also moved the herijauna/big white in coco to the flower room today. I've been stalling on the aero system, because the clones weren't as healthy as i would like. I think I'm going to move on to a new strain and take some fresh clones for that setup. That will work out better timing wise anyways, giving these other plants time to finish flowering. I can honestly say that I see a huge difference on not only bud development, but heavy trich development with these LED panels. I had the exact same strain under the 600 hps right before this and it was not nearly as dense or frosty. I'm pretty shocked considering the 240W differential!
hers a pic of the 2x 180's and how bright they are u can only imagen in person.lol

a youger close up in the early days of flowering. look how frosted she is? love led budz

amazing bro. u mind if i post these pics and show others? please post updates for me to see on my thread if u will. thats going to be a killer girl now i might have to get 6x 180's to replace my 2x500's..lol. was going to go with 4x 290's and am debating on the 6x180's instead. i plan on doing grows with all the lights so we can see whats the best, i get them to test out for free, so its cool.lol

how high u keeping that 180w?

you bet you can show others... I would be honored!! here is a raw link: http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd361/stoneyluv2/DSCN2859.jpg

I'll update her once a week or so for ya!!! I have high hopes for this girl.... and like I said she is sitting directly under the panel... she is dangerously close at moment, at about 6" from the glass. This is why i really need a new grow space.... looks like I'll make it this week coming up!!

I know you were pondering the four 290's. I never thought of six 180's. the 290's sound simpler but like you said having more smaller panels gives you more flexibility... probably more core saturation area too!!! Thats a lot of light bro... I'd love to see that in action!!!
