As you have surmised, a lot of forum users, at this website, build their own light. I am currently using a mars-hydro 48 x 3 watt reflector in a 21" x 21" x 60" space. "Churtmunk" listed off a few decent COB based LED array companies. I personally will be building a COB based LED array.
I've had my COB LED modules made to order and I could not be happier with them. I'm in the process of replacing every lamp I own with COB LED sooner or later.

I actually just picked up the Reflector 96, It does give off quite a bit of heat. Gets the tent 2 degrees hotter than my 125 CFL was. But it's still more light than the 125 was doing.

you have any picture's of the some of the results you've gotten with them? seem's to be a lot of mixed feelings on premade led's everyone i've talked to keeps saying get something like Black dog but i'm not willing to shell out that much cash yet like i said never grown before
Well yea i got some pics.. But understand I'm a hybrid lamp user, I like HID/LED combo! IMO using LED alone it cant get penetrate through the leaves like HID can, plus my Hurtilux bulb is 92,000 lumen!! I run 2 192x3 reflectors split between a 600 watt HPS, I also use a mars 900 LED for side lighting.. in bloom..

Ill share some of my Graceland pics with ya bro!!!

I want you guys to understand these lamps are "tools" of the trade, yes they are better "tools" for more money, but at the end the grow they will do the "job"..
I just like to use the tools that work for me.. mars hydro/ LG can build a lamp that i can afford, and i use them to there full penitential.. They have paid for them selves about 1000 times!!!

This grow room cost about a grand to build, Its a autoflower room, and can produce alot of cannabis!! With the upgrades I expected this room to make buds!!!

I dont know what the science is when I use Hybrid lighting, But I do know it works , and it works "very" well.. TCB!!

whoa. much appreciated at this point im thinking a 400w MarsII and a 400w HID combo still doing research can't quite decide yet need to figure out how i could go about cooling a 4x2x5 tent thinking about getting a air cooled hood with it being vented right out of the tent. going to be in the bedroom as that's the only space i have free for a tent so heat is a issue don't wanna die sweating while sleeping lol

is a carbon filter really necessary? i was thinking about setting up a 6" duct fan venting through the hood straight out and also pulling from outside the tent maybe a fan on each side one pushing air through and one pulling it to help make sure it's getting hot air out. i'm still not quite sure what role a carbon filter plays like i said i'm new to all this so my guess would be smell control?

Smell control can be a big deal even in a legal free state. That smell is telling more about you than you wish to be told. People rob legal banks for legal money.

smell would be a big deal if it was off the wall i can only do 4 plants legally i will get a carbon filter but is there any you suggest or are they all about the same? how often does the filter itself have to be replaced?

They really are all pretty similar aside from sales pitch stuff, I order carbon to refill myself. Some plants really do stink. Carbon filters are extremely effective. I replace mine about every 24 months but we are all a little different. Refilling is a bit messy.

You want results?

PHRESH FILTERS are the only way. Amazon has them. As does ebay. But I PERSONALLY lucked out and got an amazon warehouse deal on a 6" 24" skinny for $68. Normally $180.
ALWAYS look at the other prices when on amazon if theyre there. Its surprising how much good quality shit you can get just by looking. Amazon warehouse deals are awesome. Mine had a tiny bend in the flange that I fixed WITH MY FINGERS. ALSO GOT A GALAXY TABLET FOR $48 that was $130 usually because the sticker was ripped that sealed the box. Both the filter and tablet were BRAND NEW.

About as good as any name brand, just stay away from homemade stuff on eBay. Buy one and refill forever.

"If a grower has a "Small" budget and is not, yet, capable of allocating additional funds to better lighting for whatever legitimate reason.
Yes...MarsHydro develops decent LED arrays."

For the price of these you can get hps. Even at $50 you can get a used hps 600w
