Is the ViparSpectra Reflector-Series 300W LED Decent?

@TacoMac if you weren't such a hot head you'd say what would be my best option but instead you start insulting people. If you had any sense you can look into Vero 18 and make you a 160w light for around $150 and you would be proud of that light. Keep on being angry and when you buy that light and it fails I'm not the one who will be upset.

So the entire LED field is bogus? I mean, that's been the entire premise of LED: producing an equal amount of light for a fraction of the amount of power.

If what you say is true, then the entire LED and Compact Florescent industries are lying.
I know you will probably leave without learning anything, despite sincere efforts to help you, but I just wanted to say thanks for this post. It's the cutest thing I've ever read in here. 100% squee.

This guy recommends Mars because of their barbecues. I, personally, would disregard. I use two ViparSpectra V450s to great effect. Check my journal, ifyou'd like.

No amount of bending space and time is going to allow a 136W light to replace a 250W HPS. That's a lie, I don't care about the rest. I'm sure it works fine or whatever. But they are a dishonest company, full stop.

Actually, probably one dishonest guy who ships from Alibaba to Amazon. "Company" is probably being generous.

And you forgot the New Years party!

Also, you're dumb. I know a 78w COB (Tasty T1-2100) that puts out 60 more micromols than my 450w (206 drawn watts). If what you say is true, all lights use wattage the same way, and they don't, otherwise a 78w COB would not put out 60 more micromols at 24" (480 mmols) vs my 206w draw. It's called efficiency. By the way, a 400w HPS only puts out 127.

Donnie, meet the element you are out of. I have zero problem with you, but you really shouldn't be in this conversation and using numbers. Calling me dumb was not very nice, either, but especially ill-advised considering the amount of talking your ass is doing right now.

Anyway, peace brother. :peace: bongsmilie

I guess calling you dumb wasn't very nice. I apologize for that. Definitely not talking out my ass, though.

Show you what? Your own ignorance and unwillingness to learn? You are doing a great job of that by yourself.

Oh well, I tried to show you, but some men can't be taught to fish. Keep telling people this light is literally THE MOST EFFICIENT LIGHT SOLD ON PLANET EARTH, because that's how ridiculous replacing 250W with 136W is, and how ridiculous you sound. It's complete horseshit. A lie. Snake oil. Hokum. Bunko. Claptrap.

But since you are more concerned with winning an argument than being right, I guess you'll just have to trust me, and keep growing with your light that is probably throwing off more heat than an HPS while costing twice as much. Awesome deal!

Again, your argument that 136w can't compare to the power of a 250w less efficient light technology has been debunked. Let's move on. You don't seem to comprehend the meaning of efficiency. And in any case, they are better quality than Mars, and most agree.

Only to somebody who has never done and/or understood the actual numbers. Here's a hint: your light doesn't make 200lm/W. It also doesn't make 3+ umols/J. No light does. Well, maybe @REALSTYLES has broken that barrier.

The only thing we've debunked is the myth that you understand these numbers, which I tried to correct, unsuccessfully. I don't know if it's your pride or my abrasive personality. But boy are you on the wrong side of this one.

Granted, I am almost neurotic about finding and telling the truth, but some people just need to win a fucking argument.

No, seriously. You didn't even prove anything. All you did was state your disagreement. You did prove you don't understand efficiency and progressing technology. 250w HPS has less PAR wattage than a 300w LED that draws 136w.

You only used disbelief to reinforce your position, which isn't evidence.

Where's the button for unfollowing boring dick swinging arguments??
I'm not here to swing dick none the least. I used to run burple lights so I do know what I'm talking about no dick swining here

You can see which one is better 1 400w dyi light vs a Mars II 1200 and 1600 @Olive Drab Green you should try a cob light you love it and you think differently about the light you are using now.
