Is this a Vero 29 killer?

Actually I did consider using a .01 ohm.
Theoretically a 0.01Ω could work. I am assuming you are using a Mean Well HLG. If so, then the resistor is a total waste, and that would make this discussion moot.
If you are indeed using a CV such as the Mean Well HEP, then the minimum value of the resistor is dependent on the delta between the forward voltages of the CoBs.

To select the resistor you measure the cold forward voltage (Vf) of each CoB that will be connected to the same power supply (Vin). The highest forward voltage determines Vin which will be just a little over its Vf. How much or how little over depends on your operating ranges and tolerances. If you are at 1000mA and the delta between Vf and Vin is 0.1V then the resistor is 0.1Ω. The same applies to the rest of the CoBs. The resistor value increases by 0.1Ω for each 0.1V below Vin.

You could use 0.01Ω if you can adjust your supply in 0.01V increments and the tolerance keeps Vin at the set voltage.

If using an HLG then remove the resistors.

im looking to build light thats runnig 10/11 vero29 3500k at 700ma- 1050ma any one else doing this as from what i can gather its the most efficient

fine setup, lots of people use vero 29. I wouldnt say its the "Most efficient" because there are a number of factors, chip model (multiple vero 29s alone at different voltages, as well as other chips), current, color, CRI, etc.

FYI there are better threads for Vero, this thread despite its title is not about Vero really, it was started over a year ago comparing chips at the time with Vero 29 which is not the same as the "gen 7" thats come out since then. thread is mostly old info

I think the vero 29s are about the same if not better at that current. The 4000k are 137lpw at 2100ma. 157 at 1050ma. So on paper not really better efficiency in the 4000k citizens.

so whats better ? vero 29(what version is the competition?) vs cree cxb3590?
I already use cxb but I'm planning in buying more.
I'm not too good with all the number info, any fast way to explain the different, and better?
I'm going to try to make a new forum.

At this moment I have 16 Cree cxb3590 3500k with 4 hlg-320h-c2100b.
I'm planing to add another 16 cxb3590 more(32 cob total) take off the 4 hlg-320h-c2100b
And add 4 hlg-320-c1050b (one driver for 8 COB)
I know this set up is DOPE, I already did grate on my first and this one is better.
But I understand new stuff is always is coming out and been seen vero29 is the Cree competition, but is not much info, and videos.

I think crees still best when run at low current but they lose efficiency fast when driven hard , they'll all work :)

Bridgelux (vero), citizen and luminus are all similarly priced and offer same performance as cree at 50-70% of the price, same cobs youre used to, no manufacturer has a magic bullet, just incremental advantages on one another

at a given wattage some are slightly brighter. for similarly priced chips,+/- 5% at most

i like luminus cxm 22. for $17/chip below 70W they are brighter than any chip under $30. they are within a few percent of the top of the line $40-$50 citi3618 and luminus cxm32

I run 4 of the cxm22 50v on a hlg-320-1400 and it is bright as shit. I might build another one here soon. Great chip for the price.

What would be a good cob/driver choice to hang in the corners (1 in each) of my 5 x 5 tent to raise the PPFD to usuable levels? I am diy a replica of the HLG 550 (4 x 288 quantum boards ) with the hlg 480 2100B (A is high dollar)? I guess I should also ask if this is even a good idea? Lol Thanks

if youre just boosting light you dont need much. (4)50W cobs on a 200W driver is cheap and easy

Pleezz help my cahnnl grow if u dont mind I respect everybody in this room more than you know especially a couple of you more than others but I say that with the upmost respect I am interested in purchasing some more LED's to extend my system and I do have a handful of CLu 48 1212 but I want something more bang for both maybe I could put them all together but closer together I mean but or maybe even put something smaller but a lot more of them next to the clu 48 1212
I got 50volt chip now at 3amp max and 24000lums 8 .50plus ship 10$ not for long
