We didn't have gay pride in the 70s we had 'places' that the adults told us we couldn't go into to buy a bottle of soda.

Right down the street from where I spent some time.

Great cousin Jackie (John) died of AIDS in the 80s; he always wore the obligatory white T and that cheesy moustache which I guess let each other identify themselves.
We'll have the 50th Anniversary parade in just a couple of years. One of the original organizers from 1975 is a long time family friend, whom I consider "one of my mothers".

I was very disgusted; again, kind of the beginning of this, a family in Boulder CO had their daughter do this. One Christmas morning they found her murdered in her own home..never solved.

I've noticed that female children dance, cheer competition has turned into pants, leotard and jacket..they're starting to wise up- pedo's are everywhere..google your neighborhood and see how close you live to one..don't be shocked, it's as close as next door.
My wife made me go check out the house, gross stuff all around.

I saw the house came on the market again for like 7m.

They changed the numerical address..I drove past whilst in Boulder waiting for doctor office to pack their specimens. Meh. It's changed hand a few times. Tried to get a vibe hoping something would pop; I need to feel inside. Would be awesome to solve it.

Good thing I have no intention of ever living in Portland. It was cool a long time ago, but not anymore.
Good. It's people moving here that have messed it up for us natives.

"Referring to Oregon's tourist industry in a 1971 speech, McCall may have first publicly voiced his famous "Come visit, don't stay" slogan: "I urge them to come and come many, many times to enjoy the beauty of Oregon. But I also ask them, for heaven's sake, don't move here to live."

You do know that was back when Oregon was ran by republicans,. The democrats are the ones who ruined it.

It was also back when Republicans were Republicans not these conspiracy theory chasing magas who are the real rino's. Tom McCall would be considered a far left liberal by the nuts in the Republican party today. The things he did would get him flogged by the GOP today.

First bottle bill in the nation
Pro environmental regulations
Public ownership and access to the entire Oregon coast

You can't actually believe that todays Republicans are anything like the Republicans of that era.

Hell, George Wallace was a Democrat. Nothing like the Democrats of today. The Democrats have moved forward while the Republicans have been going backwards.

George Corley Wallace Jr. (August 25, 1919 – September 13, 1998) was an American politician who served as the 45th governor of Alabama for four terms. A member of the Democratic Party, he is best remembered for his staunch segregationist and populist views. During his tenure, he promoted "industrial development, low taxes, and trade schools." Wallace sought the United States presidency as a Democrat three times, and once as an American Independent Party candidate, unsuccessfully each time. Wallace opposed desegregation and supported the policies of "Jim Crow" during the Civil Rights Movement, declaring in his 1963 inaugural address that he stood for "segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever."

don't "gotta believe". I'm surprised that people are still falling for this shit. Or maybe you are promoting it. Hard to say.

Pedophiles go where the children are..........seems a simple concept.
Don't think pedo is a gay pride issue nor is it a left or right thing.
I think it might be. The only people who talk about pedos are Republicans. It's def a buttoned down right wing Christian conservative thing, which also means it's a Republican thing. But also too, you are half right, pedophilia is not a gay thing.

Also, what's with Proud Boys hanging around outside of libraries all about?

Montgomery police to patrol drag story hours after Proud Boys protest

A group of men yelled homophobic and transphobic slurs, held wooden signs with graphic imagery, and shouted “you’re bad parents!” at families walking into a Silver Spring bookstore for a story hour with a drag queen on Saturday, according to Montgomery County Council member Kristin Mink. The men, members of the Proud Boys, also confronted volunteers holding rainbow umbrellas and ushering in children to the program, she said, by shoving and pushing against them.

The first amendment is only for right wing radicals, at least to their mind it is. Isn't it about time to declare Proud Boys a terrorist organization?
