A 150 watt HPS is literally one of the worst lighting options available.

Perhaps you are doing something wrong because there are dozens of unbiased growers on this site who've posted their successful results. So I'd say that cobs didn't work for you but can't say that they don't measure up completely. But to each his own.

Loved my 150 wt hps it was great for vegging and seedlings kicking myself in the ass for leaving it at a friends if you mainlined a plant you could flower a plant under it all buy another one in the future

I used a 300 watt (130 watt) model for my test grows but this yield is based on you tube grows by independent growers as well as my personal experience.and on actual watts used. if you use the tricks used by LED makers in their youtube "infomercials" you will get a higher yield. a flowering initiator can increase yield by 10% and chemical growth stimulants can increase yield by 30% . using supplemental UV like the agrowmax UVA plus bulb will also increase yield,potency and taste.top bin bridgelux diodes can reach 35% efficiency and top bin cree or osram diodes can achieve 50% efficiency but light using those diodes are expensive. high end LED grow light makers claim that plants can only use 40% of the light white LEDs produce. the energy output at chlorophyll peaks and the intensity required to trigger photo inhibition and other signs of light stress would support these claims and is why all large LED grow light makers use mono's in combination with white leds to adjust their spectrum. some of these light have up to 12 bands but with cree and osram diodes these light are as efficient as any white LED on the market and provide a better spectrum. have fun with those strip lights. my LEDs are collecting dust in my shed because they could not match the performance of my T5s and my small (150 watt) HPS worked better than my T5s. buy I'm a PU MMJ closet growers so quality is more important to me than total yield.I cannot legal sell any of my crop in my state and T5s were the most cost effective way to grow due to their longer useful life. but I'm just a disabled 60 year old man trying to stay off prescription drugs. for a commercial grower HPS or CMH will give a higher yield
