Thats a good question, I have a cup of dolomite lime in there (the pebble kind) by grow more, which is supposed to be a good calmg source I iust dunno how fast acting it is. Is that enough? All of my plushberrys look great but my bagseed (turned out great) clone is pretty light green w brown spots on the leaves, I just sprayed them with a alfalfa kelp and mexican bat guana tea and theyre starting to green up. Btw is bat guana bad to handle w out a mask?

Has anybody recycled their rev's style tlo soil mix? I have about 10g of his used soil mix, and would like to recycle, it but can't understand what he does when he tries to explain it in his book. Then he has a article about it in skunk magazine and he uses a different method, but doesn't give any real measurements of anything, just add a little of this and that. If any of you have done it or recommendations on it I'd like to get your input.

I am down with Rising Moon 100%...Sorry yall...also he didnt really sound like a dick in the first post - that was a great wake up call for 99% of the growers on this site. Someone advocating that hard for true organics should be welcome, and very appreciated on this thread...

I heard a lot of hype on here about TLO and the rev etc so I bought the book, read the whole thing, and honestly it didn't teach me anything new, and a lot of the things in there made me cringe a little bit. It is still full of great stuff (worm farm in the flower room etc.) but nothing that you cant find with a tiny bit of research online, or think of yourself...also the whole "layers and spikes" thing is BS in my opinion and pretty sketchy.

Much more valuable information is to be found online (read all of Lumperdawgz posts on grasscity and you'll see what I mean), in Teaming with Microbes, or in books like Permaculture: A designers manual by Bill Mollison, or numerous other real gardening books. Unfortunately the cannabis industry leads itself to gimmicky practices, and a lot of the information out there coincides with buying a certain product. Funny how that is....notice how soil companies always have a line of nutrients to go with their shitty soil that always runs out of nutes around a month...I learned this one the hard way by falling into their trap like so many others.

Recently I have started another compost pile, a vermicomposting system, beginning to experiment with FPEs (fermented plant extracts), Bokashi, EM-1 (effective microorganisms) and BIM (beneficial indigenous microorganisms). Using rice hulls and pumice instead of perlite, etc. Integrating fermentation and CO2 exchange into the flower room with edible products...the opportunities are endless!

The rev may provide a good foundation on which to get started and build your organics, but true living organics are above and beyond that book. If you had to choose, Teaming with Microbes is an infinitely better choice IMO.

I am by no means an old advocate of this practice, I only began reading Lumpers posts about a month ago...but can tell you I have seen the light and I will never turn back!!! Permaculture has always been my thing, so it is natural to apply the same principles indoors - even though the environment is synthetic the soil can still be alive as ever.

So Rising Moon...tell us of your ways :bigjoint: I'd love to hear more and you sound like you know what you're talking about

Everyone else sit back and listen...stop hating on someone who is trying to open your mind!

Im glad your here cann because you seperate the bullshit from the truth and i LOVE that about you. Sheet mang there's folks here posting that are handing out archaic knowledge to folks without any warning to them that the technique they offered you is not only outdated but not right for true living organics! It took me awhile too actually be able to seperate the rockstars from the groupies here sorta speak but ive been paying very close attention since december and ill avoid those asshats like herpe's! Once again cann thankyou for being part of the solution here not the problem! Riu has a bad problem with people handing out shitbag info acting like there doing you a favor! really sad!

:) there is a reason I have been avoiding this thread for a while...LOL. I used to be interested in TLO...then I opened up my third eye and saw it for what it is! utter complete bullshit nonsense. TLO makes a mockery out of the "living soil" approach to gardening. I'll leave it at that.

that dude just came on here and started advertising, seems like bullshit, i wouldnt touch any of it. ripping off the rev's style (which is a poor choice anyway lol) and trying to sell folks stuff. go check his recent posts, he says that he has most experience in chem nutes but understands the tlo style of growing...wtf? he has been posting for 1 day....definitely not trustworthy IMO

don't buy anything. this is why advertising shouldn't be allowed here

First off Cann you just have something against The Rev or TLO because you have your own style that mainstream gardeners won't touch. LOL. next I saw his post and you didn't post anything on his post at all. You need anger management. Every comment I have seen from you is angry for some especialy from TLO.

And I contacted him about him getting banned and his products. And he said he asked to be banned and thats the only reason for his ban. He said sunni was crying.

permaculture: a designers manual by bill mollison

the new organic gardener by eliot coleman

sowing seeds in the desert by masanobu fukuoka (also one straw revolution if you haven't read it)

earthworms eat my garbage by mary appelhof

that should keep ya busy for a while...lol. mollison's book alone is one of the densest things you can imagine. chapter 4, titled "pattern understanding" is a fantastic read to gain overall perspective on life and patterns in nature. worth the money for the hardcover, no question

Usually, I'm not a hater. But when I see bullshit I call it out. Everything I have read from "The Rev" has just been pretty lame, not based in tradition, past or present and seems like a great scheme to sell bottles and bags while pretending its so much more.

I should have said, the Rev can come and choke on my True Living Soil/Biodynamically grown smoke.

Peace and Love.
