Michigan Medical Grow Blueberry, Blue Cheese, Chernobyl

They guy who gave me the Chernobyl said to let them go 60 days, or at least that's how they finish best in his soil set up with pro mix, advanced nutes, and CO2. We'll see if 60 days is the sweet spot or not. Gotta keep my temps low for the Chernobyl in the future since it looks like a keeper pheno :) Definitely a lime pheno and not the cherry at least in smell.

Hey Kurtdog, your browning leaf problem could be a from a build-up of salts and minerals. I had this problem with clones and adult plants while using super thrive, but it stopped when I quit feeding with super thrive. It could also be a million other things. Good luck.

Urban your grow looks wonderful. Thats all i can say .... The browning of the leaves has stopped now and just growing they have adjusted to the soil now. My plans when i am back is to do one monster plant and hope to pull a LB from it. Using a DWC for the grow thats when i will do the blue berry like yours. Pineapple xpress have you grown it before and if so anything i need to know about it before i crack it? Also the White widow? Those are the three i think i am ready to do on my First full run at growing with a purpose.

I've smoked white widow it's super potent and I have a pineapple express autoflower that I just germinated. Other than that I have no experience.

image.jpgOkay so I've been lazy with posting but I have pics of the grow throughout so I will repost later. Its day 62. All the girls have pretty resin and some fading leaves. Looking all the pics if the buds do you think I should pick them. A lot of the top growth isn't throwing new pistils at the very top. But most of the second shelf is throwing new pistils. I'll look at one part of the bud and see cloudy trichomes and there are a few ambers so going by that I would say they all have 10% amber on the top growth. The mid or second shelf buds are not quite as dense and have just cloudy trichs. The thing is I know I could harvest this and it would be effective medicine. I harvested some blue cheese at day 50 and its pretty decent smoke 12 days later I let it dry a day or 2 long. But will I get more weight and better bud at day 70? Or 75 or is the wait not worth it? I need any and all opinions. All these girls had white pistils in the last few weeks of veg so I feel like this truly is day 62 of flower. Not sure why the chernobyl continues to crumble but it does. Heat stress I guess but the buds look great

I do the same but I've really been having a hard time with when is the best time to chop. My last smoke was awesome but I wondered if some plants would have weighed more if I let them stay longer. Is it worth going past today the last day of week 9?

I pull mine wen 80% of the pods are amber and looks like a swellin takin place then I still do an extra week, max out on weight potential.

Thanks Raiderman and Kurtdog for the advice. I think I will let them go at least another week maybe two. I'd say 60-70 percent of the hairs are amber if that's what you mean by pods. Maybe only 10 to 20 % of trichs are amber so I'm really glad I didn't pull them yet. Hopefully I can get close to a lb per light. If not I might look into co2 (besides exhale bags), using ro water, and maybe bottled nutes like advanced nutes. Gotta get to a lb per light to get to my ultimate goal of 2 lb per light.

I have to say thanks to everyone that helped out ill be posting final pics before chop and after drying. I chopped most stuff around day 68. The bc came out each around 3 oz. One chernobyl is still drying but it looks like it'll be over 4 oz maybe 5. One blueberry is just over 4 so it seems waiting longer is better. I will post pics soon

Okay so here are a few pics. It won't let me upload more than 3 on my iPad. These are all chernobyl bud shots. There's some purple and pink coming in the sugar leaves on the edges... Not sure if you can see it. After things were really dry I ended up with 4 oz on each blueberry and chernobyl and 2 oz on each blue cheese. The chernobyl is the best quality look and effect and yld so I'm gonna run a lot more in the future. It needs 70 days though maybe 75. I have one blueberry, 2 nobyls, and 2 bc ready to chop. I'm going to add ice to the top of the soil and throw them in the closet for 48 hrs of dark. I keep hearing these two methods will add resin from stress so I'm excited. I will be continuing this journal as I get the chernobyl dialed in better. I will also be adding a journal for my 818 headband and power Kush. I'm adding co2 to the room today. Sweet stash, bio root, and bio bud, possibly bloombastic will be added to future grows to see if I can increase the quality or yield.

Here are a few bud pics :) shout out to Saginasty the medical community is suffering without your expertise. Also excuse the bathroom I bought this place cheap to grow medical in. I tried hanging it to dry with and without the leaves, both work. Most important seems to be that the buds are brittle almost and the stem snaps when you jar it. Gives best flavor and preserves potency it seems. Also, super soil is better than botanicare full line in my opinion, at least for a rookie. Even with adding botanicare per instructions having to flush I feel like could mess up a strain that could go longer, what if you deplete too soon etc. super soil allowed the plants to go as long as they wanted to with a top dressing at day 30 of flower. Dense bugs too all the way down. Even small buds tend to have firmness. The taste far surpasses what I grew using botanicare as well. Both strains are around 5-6 ish in smell but the potency is great and the smoke is some of the cleanest I've smoked. It seems like in organics you can just smoke it once it's dry with no cure and there isnt that harshness that my botanicare run had when I did the same. I'm happy to not be smoking bottled nutes and my patients like the quality too. image.jpgimage.jpgView attachment 2846583image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

I've started adding a few things to my super soil besides water to see if I can push the plants further in quality and or yld. My 818 headband and power Kush love the sweet stash organic soil tonic. It's made in Michigan which is cool. Literally though, every grow store says it's the best product in the store and they are right you can see your plants kickstart 48 hours after adding it. Most nutrients I haven't seen a noticeable response from. I'm also adding general organics bio root during veg, more roots more fruits I'm hoping. From weeks 2-8 of flower I'm adding general organics bio bud which is supposed to be a veganic bloom booster. I just hope these products don't negatively affect flavor I'm extremely picky and certain nutes people use really irritate my throat. I looked up bloombastic again and I'm gonna stay away for now and see if I can get 1.5 lb per light organically since I'm already get 1 lb per light with the chernobyl a medium ylder. I'm thinking it will happen with the headband, blue dream, bay 11, power Kush, or qrazy train I'm running over the next 60 days.

also, I think I'm going to stop adjusting ph because gen org says you don't need to. From what I've read you just ph for mineral based nutrients so that the roots can absorb the synth minerals. With a living soil the microbial activity feed the roots and ph isn't really important although it seems that super soil does keep it in a specific range. Sub also doesn't ph along with a lot of super soil growers so we'll see what happens.

Sounds like a cool set up. I like the coffee can idea. The pic button is the third one from the right below the quick reply. I have been putting my clones into rockwool but first soaking the rockwool with superthrive and ph'd water to 6.2 ish. They are on a tray with a dome the most basic stuff I could buy from the grow store. I first dip the cuttings in a rooting gel before putting them in the medium. I spray them every few days with ph'd water + superthrive and flood them with the same solution every few days as well. I drain all the water out immediately after I flood them. I just made more clones tonight with hydroton, hopefully those root well too. I am new to cloning so I am still figuring out what works best. View attachment 2746748

I added the solarflare 200 and the kessil 350 today. I threw in another blue cheese, blueberry, and chernobyl to go under the lights. I figure I'll rotate the plants around the room and hopefully the additional different spectrums will help produce good meds. I still need to close up my room and work out my venting, I have negative pressure in the room.
Love the set up!! You're growin' some weed!!:leaf:

I appreciate the love bluecheez! I'm keeping one blue cheese pheno as it turns out. Super light green crystally skunky and fast growing and stretchy. I Hope to train it right with super cropping and I'm going to add silica blast to stiffen the stems as it grows skinny stems with fat colas.

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgSo I cut the ac off and hooked 6 inch inline fans up to temp control switches to keep the room at 72 or below. Free co2 and ac :) Also I'm noticing incredible colors and resin from the cooler temps. I gotta say subcool has the bomb genetics and soil recipe. I can't believe how much difference ten degrees makes. The plant that has the purple buds and white hairs is the purple Maroc. It smells awesome and the buds are pink red and purple and have just started to show tints of green here n there lol. The crazy pink purple and yellow green leaves is the chernobyl. I hope the buds get tinged with extra color. The plant with the bluer blackish purple on the leaves is the blueberry. I'm saving both plants for sure as the medicinal properties are strong and clearly room temperature brings out the natural colors. There is still three to four weeks to go on these based on flowering times last time of 10-11 weeks. I do wonder if if they might finish quicker under less stress and better temps. I'll be watching for the hairs and trichs to change. Perhaps everything will go full out deep purple ????:)))

I'm thinking of flushing my super soil with a clearing agent like sledgehammer or clearex to see if it improves the smoke. I don't plan on doing this until 3 to four days before harvest because I want to keep the super soil alive as long as possible. I figure there could be salts or some residue from the soil or the general organics and sweet stash feelings. My smoke tastes more flavorful than most stuff I've smoked and I think it is due to the organic nature of it. It is a bit earthy though. It does not have any chemical or metallic taste, or nute burn in your throat on the exhale that I taste in most smoke. I hope to preserve the complex trepine taste and bring it out even more while reducing the earthy taste that I'm tasting in all organic soil grows. Flushed synthetic cannabis has a clean taste but is lacking flavor and ultimately I find it burns my throat one way or another if I smoke enough to treat my condition. Hopefully I can get the best of both world and get the ultimate smoke... Full flavor less earthiness :)
