BOY omega farmer is a big defender of the garden WhatUP

I guess to specify the Transformers overheat, motors have very poor engineering and fails frequently. Omegafarmer may not know the difference between aluminum and steel. IMAGINE
To wake up to all your fire alarms going off because your transformers meltdown or the shotgun blast as the capasitors blow. SAVE YOUR MONEY....

This is a public service announcement
by "transformers" i guess you must be talking about the 600 ballasts made by Advanced Lighting that went into the 10001 models, I doubt vary much that any of those have ever melted down under any circumstances, and if they did you cant blame that on Omega.

The motors are Dayton there buddy and mine have run for years without any problems.

so now what is it going to be? thermal expansion of the twin omega towers? controlled demolitions? terrorists?

you seem to have a hardon for the omega, are you building your own? lolol - you will need more smarts then you are demonstrating here my friend

you seem to have an axe to grind. have you seen the Foodle? looks pretty interesting to me. i think they guy is doing pretty well as far as engineering goes, there are a lot of knock offs of their original designs. in fact its likely the most copied hydroponics system out there.

this quote that you tried to remove shows how good of an engineer you are with the idea of a 4 foot drum moving at the speed of .5 to 1 revolution per hour could make a wobble that would some how dislodge it from its stand or make it move in any detrimental way demonstrates either your lack of knowledge of physics or your contempt for the readers knowledge of same.

WOW,.. do you really beleive that because the other gardens rotate that they are knocking off the Omega ...I must admit the omega is the only gardens I have used, but beware they are an engineering mess, Motor is fine just the idiotic way they have designed the drive. There is no cooling of the towers thus overheating the ballasts... all of these oversites are repairable If anyone has a omega dead in the corner I have re-mod parts to make it usable.
Also the feedtrays can fall Jamming the wheel and balling up the whole system breaking the glass, stripping the gears etc, or as in my case the welds on the crossbar failed causing complete loss and major damage.. pics to follow
I believe that most OMEGA owners give up on their Machine after many failed crops and move to Static growing methods. Although the first,.... Omega has tarnished the rotory markets with their machines Do not rely on Omega Gardens as once you buy ....its yours you figure it out.
or worse you may have to deal with Ted (pompus ass).

May all your days be harvest day....

oh boy where to start lolol

the omega was the first company to build and sell horizontal rotary hydroponic machines and patent the same so i would say that the others are knock-offs cause that is the text book definition of knock-offs DUH.
without ted's innovations the hydroponics game would be so dull in comparison to the way it is now. that guy inspired many and is still inspiring as you can see with this popsci article. you must be a very small minded soul in order to think that way. maybe a little constipated as well, may i suggest getting more fruit in your diet.

i can tell by your post here that you have never laid eyes on any of the other machines and the omega towers have cooling vents so either you have not even seen one or you are just trying to misslead people here.

i call your raise and go all in to see the pictures that you say you have of twisted omegas, im possative you are not telling the truth.

what do you say is wrong with the drive on any of the machines, and please explane what you think is wrong with the new foodle while you are at it. the foodle is briliant, the medium has been eliminated, it no longer has to have a central light, though you can still operate it with one, or it can go in the window and now it rotates as a water wheel, what more can you ask for? the guy has turned that thing into something close to a comodity, that is likely to be disruptive, transformative technology you are witnessing there brother. wake up and smell the genious.

but ya please produce the pictorial evidence that you have reffered to and tell us what specific problems you see with rotary cylindrical technologies. its not like there hasent been wheels and cylinders around for quite some time so conceps are pretty clear so make your case and please spare us the sara palin type of speak that you seem so fond of.

Boy the arrogance
Ted you have resorted to praising your self...my god man you must be drinking your bong water . If your all in then be ready to lose your chips.
I find nothing wrong with the rotoponics tech, I am just against your attempt to sell your poorly engineered equipment as the best, posing as a farmer ... Well no time to help you redesign your mistakes, I have to tend my crop.

PS There is a spell checker for the challenged (up in the corner) Me thinks you must have been dropped as a child

Or perhaps your still living in a van down by the river.

you seem to have a problem with advanced ballasts is all that your picture tells of.

you can thank ted for rotoponics as you call it cause he was the inventor of it

im sure he is in no need of your help in the design world.

both the volksgarden and the foodle are wonderful designs that are making this type of growing easier for the masses to get into all the time.

you sound like one very jealous poor person who was likely never breast feed or something along those lines, how is the constipation?

YEAH TED ..............................lets all give him a collective woopey

"far from jealous further from poor"
FOODLE ....Why Does anyone get it??
AS for my omega
Listen you pompus ass the ballast in my omega BURNT and the resulting smoke
damm near got me busted and I lost that crop and all the rest in the room .. ..........................you see the cooling on the rotogrow DA
When the motor connection to the driveshaft fails and your crop dries out and dies under/over the lights lets see a show of hands from all Omega owners who had this crop failure situation ...great engineering... who do we blame for this ....OSAMA TEDLADIN

the sensor kit I use turns off my lites if the wheel stops,

PS this site is for growers not greedy greasey salesmen...

i would like to hear what an Advanced Ballasts rep would have to say about your picture. i doubt very much that a shorted out ballast would rupture like that. has anyone ever seen anything like that before? it looks to me from the marking across the top from left to right that you or someone had to use some force to bend those plates like that. i guess that is your kind of engineering eh?

i will send this to the people at Omega and see what they say. might send it on to advanced as well and see if have anything to say. doesnt look like something that could happen to a ballast like this. even if it did though you still cant blame Omega for it? you ought to be sending it to advanced if what you say is true and get a warrentee replacement

gees buddy you must be really getting constipated to be getting so angry, the homer in you is really showing.

it takes longer then a day for your rockwool cubes to dry out and it would take months for your set screws to work themselves loose on your drive shaft connection so......i guess if the wheel falls off of your car 5 years after you buy it cause you never checked the lug nuts then its Yugo's fault ok maybe GM. where are the pictures of your burnt crop dude?

LOLOLOL...osama tedladin..lolol thats funny

greasey is spelled greasy

i don't think your claims would stand up to forensic cross examination

Well lets try

*motor shaft and hole in shaft to not align properly, when you tighten the set screw it causes a slight misalign and no matter how tight the set screw is it will work loose. You must check the set screw every day or it slips and then the wheel stops turning, and yes the rockwool can take a day, it still reduces yield. The plants directly over light suffer the most.

I wish I took more photos of the effects but never knew I would have to defend my words.

The cross members that hold the large gear wheels apart, where of such poor quality construction , one broke and jammed the wheel, the gear eat the wheel .... DOA ...PICS 1 & 2
I added a Micro switch that if the wheel tries for any reason it stops the motor so no more run away wheels...

This whole exchange shows the mind set of Omega to blame the operator, please note not a single offer of help .......just Blame
This just shows the greed of OMEGA

Sorry to all other rollitupers but after reading all the bullshit that this madman has posted I had to interveen with a dose of truth and reality.

more then likely you left a cotter pin out when you put a c-channel in the system and the channel worked its way out and that crashed your garden, but you wont admit that.

After the fabricated ballast blowout business your credibility is shot, never mind the wobble that the volksgarden is supposed to make even though it is moving so slowly that you can barely tell its moving. Who are you trying to fool?

how bout a picture of the broken weld you are talking about? and try to make it look real this time will ya...please.

oh ya and the drive shafts have a hole in either end, one for a 3/8 motor shaft and one for a 5/16 so if you have the smaller motor shaft in the larger hole that you are going to have problems and all that stuff is covered on the install video but it all depends on people following instructions.

Thats right keep making excuses .. Now your customers are fabrication ballast explosions .................................Wow Super nut bar...
A proper coupler was a much better fix .. I think Its a "newmega" now as it now runs trouble free.. NO thanks to Omega

I think they make more money selling parts for these than the machine.
I would make few calls and get other omega customers to write in but Omegafarmer would tell you it was all a conspiracy..:wall:

well i am not who you think i am and you are not likely an omega customer, or not likely to have bought one first hand anyway.

what coupler are you talking about now? those machines were all safety certified by CSA and the stickers are on them so if they weren't up to spec then they would not have been passed.

you want to assemble the unit incorrectly then blame the maker of the system, thats like blaming the car maker because you crashed your car drunk.

the marks on the picture of that ballast are so obvious that you must think everyone here is an idiot. the marks are straight across from the centers of the bent pieces. you certainly have gone to some effort i must say but for what reasons i can only imagine.

i do agree that a kill switch on the motor that would stop it if all the sudden the resistance went off the scale would be a good thing to have but better yet a whole new design like the volksgarden makes issues of gear drives a thing of the past, and you add your own lighting so you are not able to blame that on the machine.

so what about your broken welds? where are the pictures? im sure you would have had pics of your bud if you ever had the issues you say you did.

Well, So ya want to call me out ... This morning I dug up my bills to investigate your claims, found the spare parts bill for the parts the first time my omega quit. Large gear, small gear. Found the UPS slip

It was shipped from Canada... Sean.@A company called Custom Steel MFG. I called the number and Sean no longer works there. They do not mfg the Omega anymore I did talk to a fella there
and he says they are in a legal battle for non payment or something like that. Sound interesting!!
Their CEO was not availible for comment left a message we will see where that goes.. more to follow
Got the number for the CSA rep in Winnipeg? Csa has absolutly nothing to do with mechanical only electrical...only proper wiring ..not a design check...
So who is the lier here...

Boy this is becoming fun... One week ago I found this site and only wanted to share some of my "rotoponics experience" but once reading all the info and reading all the crap being feed to u all, from the Omega salesman and being called a fraud causes me to push this a little further ... I am retired and have all day to continue my investigation More to follow.

you are talking about couplers among other shit (which you are not providing pictures of like broken welds) and that the couplers were somehow sub standard and that is where the CSA comes in. i never said CSA did anything about design.

so you have a 5 year old machine that you fucked up and now you are all pissy, so what. Sounds like maybe you are from Custom Steel with an axe to grind.

you have fabricated exploded ballasts so why should anyone believe anything you have to say.

if you where so smart you would have put your shut off switch in the unit before you forgot to pin the channel into place and fucked up your system.

it would likely take days of turning to eat away the gears in that picture with how slow the system turns so you really just look like you neglected to be a good farmer, and monitor your grow.
