Really love this light setup
Very nice. I like the simplicity.
What's the cost on the heatsinks?
Five CoBs per bar works pretty good uniformity wise.
What is the distance between CoBs (x and y)? I can run a PAR map simulation on your fixture if you'd like.

Yesterday I wrote an app to calculate penetration based on height.
Tonight I will compare the app results to real life.

This morning I built a test fixture with six 22" EB series Gen 2 strips 3000K (BXEB-L0560Z-30E2000-C-B3) 700mA test, 1400mA max.
Taking measurements voltages, currents, temperature, and this afternoon I will measure PPFD, radiant watts, and lumens with my spectrometer.

Running them at 1200 mA the temperature is just over 50°C.
Forward Voltages @ 500 mA are 18.88v 18.89v, 18.89v, 18.91v, 18.92v, and 18.94v

Wired 2 boards in Series for 3 sets. HLG 185H-54A
Set forward voltages 500mA (powered individually). 37.77v, 37.86v, and 37.94.
Forward Voltage in parallel 39.4v and currents 472mA, 444mA, 402mA, temp ≈ 32°C

Forward Voltage in parallel 39.10 @ 1200mA each set temp ≈ 50°C
Set currents 1.210, 1.209, and 1.044 (unbalanced)
Currents are not stable, moving up and down ±150mA. Will take a couple of hours from now to reach thermal equilibrium.

The rails are 56 inches long and the first cob is centered at 4 inches from the end of the rail.so 8 inches from the edge of the scrog.
The next one over is at 12 inches from the center of the first one.
The middle one is at 28 inches center from the edge of the rail or 30 inches center of scrog
All 3 rails are spaced evenly across 4 feet.
Center at 24,and the other ones are 12 inches over from that.
Also penetration in the canopy is better than my hps hands down.everything is straight down.no outward shadows

I'm sure your uniformity is greatly improved.
Penetration is a tricky balance of intensity and height.

This is my new height vs. penetration app I made yesterday morning.

It shows the irradiance (PPFD) below the canopy at various (selectable) ranges and increments of heights.
The PPFD is always the same at the top of the canopy.
In other words, it's like you adjust the intensity to get the desired irradiance each time the height changes.
When the plants are small you can drop down closer to the canopy becasue you don't need much penetration.
Can save significant electric, but you need a PAR meter to adjust the intensity each time you raise your fixture.
I'm going to try a vertical scrog and try to minimize canopy depth.



Height 40" is typical for a 1000W HPS and typical irradiance is 400 µmol/²/s at the center of the canopy.


In this small sample below, when the irradiation is 500 µmol/²/s at the canopy and the fixture is at 40" (≈1 meter), 16" into the canopy the irradiance is 255 µmol/²/s
But at 5" the intensity turned down 500 µmol/²/s at the canopy, but only 28 µmol/²/s at 16" deep into the canopy.
If you dropped the fixture from 40" to 5" without turning down the intensity the irradiance would be 64 times what it was at 40". Example, 500 @ 40" would be 32,000 at 5".

Yeah the thing with a single bulb is you get alot of dark shadows on the outsides.
If the bulb is 2 feet above the canopy it helps but you also lose intensity.
Having more light sources over the canopy is better IMO.
Curious to know how many par I'm getting at the canopy

I’m definitely pushed over the edge now to get LED’s. I was gonna run side by side tests of 6-600w HPS in a 93 sq.ft. room (non-recirculating, DWC 18-20 gallon (15 actual gallons with 2-8” round airstones bubbling an average of 10 lpm air through each air stone) with another identical room but with a combination of LED’s to go toe to toe with the HPS room . The rooms already exist so it’s just a matter of changing out the lighting rig in one of the rooms.
I originally planned on doing the side by side test in fall of this year. Now it’s getting done ASAP. The the many points of light as opposed to six is what sold me, as Heisengrow has pointed out. I’m thinking to do Reserva Privada Sour Diesel from seed in each room.

The cobs killed my hps this last run.i had way more usable buds on the lower stuff.the tops were alot fuller and I didn' have no crispy shit under the bulbs like I getvwith the hps in the center.

Buildings good.hoping to be done around the end of april.putting all the insulation up now.all the electrical and plumbing is finished.i have everything wired up exactly the way I need it.all the led drivers will be on a 220 controller.

and yes all greenpoint gear stretches ALOT.

Here's my back flower room.ima post pics when everything is finished and the buckets and everything is all in place.
