While they are still green...

The biogreen calgel didn't seem to help much making up for the lack of Ca in the canna terra and the flores is just asking for problems. So instead I decided to throw in twice the recommended doses of the vega bottle instead of half or 2/3rd. I'm kind of surprised that actually worked... I still have 40% of the terra bottle and 90% of the flores so I used roughly 7 bucks in nutes - maybe a little too much on the low end lol. I can already tell I won't be able to keep them 'hydro-green' till the end but it's going 'ok' for now.

They had about 5 weeks 12/12. I expect them all to be ready before the end of week 9.

While reaching in my closet to water a plant in the back my nose bumped into 19-1... She is slightly thinner and smaller than 19-2 but that one is the only plant I potted up during transition so undoubtedly has filled the pot better.

Getting excited about the possible end results. Not talking total yield, don't care about that at the moment, but the smell... combined with the look (like the frosty CH) makes me look forward to filling jars with these.
These are 5 weeks in huh? Amazing.

Yeah roughly. Flipped around the 10th last month so about 5 weeks and maybe 2 days in that picture. Definitely better than the CH/ICE x CH last round which gave me the impression they were behind a week because of cold or whatever.

CH takes originally 8 weeks (as in really 8 weeks 12/12), the chunk 9 or more. So far in F1 and F2 they finish in under 9 weeks, some closer to 8. They show sex within just 4-5 weeks from seed (during veg schedule).

4 to 5 weeks to show sex? Wow, impressive.

I won't be vegging the second #4 batch any longer but they are 2 weeks old now. Not sure if that's within or without 2 days germinating.

Working on 5th, some on 4th, node. Surely would have shown sex within a few weeks if I were continue to veg.

They've been under 3x18w T8 so far, but barely only under half of that (other half is hydro box atm). So let's say 30-35w of T8. Light mix organic soil suitable for seedlings, received water only so far.

They are in the sun atm, haven't had time to place them in the closet yet (lights out...) so they get to soak up some sun light before they go on 12/12 tonight. I expect them to stretch more because of switching to 12/12 pre-preflowers but they should still show sex fast.

Some frost shots turn out better than others so a bit skewed but geez... I guess I'll be popping those #19 regardless...

I had to double check when I switched to 12/12 and it's been 5 weeks and 3 days now.

This one of the #4, one I did pollinate, the favorite... although...

And here's 19-2, still lovely green (leaf left in the back is from the one above)

And here's 19-1...

Not in the best shape but pretty sure that's me and not the plant... she smells great and is now also the most frosty. Not the fattest but she fills up nicely nonetheless. It doesn't look like it needs 3 more week though but we'll see.

Can't say I mind seeing some burned tips on a couple of the plants because so far it's been a battle keeping up. Looks like I can finally water-only on some days... still using terra vega.

Had nearly 6 weeks 12/12. Main difference (besides the taste/smell variation I mentioned earlier) is yield and frost (some pics are misleading, seems reflective walls have a big influence on how good the autosetting on my camera works). I'm very happy with the rather uniform bud structure so far. Different shape cola slightly but all curly pistils phenos that will result in chunky swollen calyxes like the best P-F1 (I hope :) ).

During the P-F2 round I pollinated the last Late Night I've grown (the single cola fast sativa) with a bushy male from P-F2 just to see if and how it would affect the structure. Only had a few seeds (down side of 7 weeks strain is that it needs to be pollinate very early) which I recently popped.

Cleary more sativa dom leaves (from the start already)

Just moved two from dwc to soil. They had a small spot under 54w T8 so far. Less than 4 weeks old. Male:2.jpg

About 5" tall, trimmed lowest branches. Preflower (above center in pic) appears to be female despite the otherwise similar structure, not 100% sure yet.

I got a small one with 5 nodes of 3" tall that I think/hope is female too. They're just for fun, maybe create a bunch of tests seeds so I don't have to use my oldest. I am curious to see what they produce though.

The late night mom got nearly 3 feet tall in a small bottle. Main problem with the late night (pollen chuck x cannalope haze) is that it doesn't yield well. And as you can see very little branching.

hey sativied, great plants and pix,,unbelievable,,love it!!
wondered if u can give me your opinion on somthing? have you heard of the ceramic discharge lamp? just read a write up in high times sais a 315 watt cdl, can replace a 600 watt hps/mh with less heat than led, better spectrum and par than any indoor light and 1 bulb lasts 20,000 hours..anyways i just purchased 2 of them ill start a new journal and we can see if they are all they are cracked up to be..if you want to check them out and give me your thoughts id really apreciate it..
www.boulderlamp.com
$500.00 per lamp, reflector, ballast, bulb, and 120 or 220 cord.. mine should be here next week, and after i get my room all switched up ill start a journal, probably in 7-10 days..ill be cutting my electric bill in half going from 1200 watts to 630 watts in my flower room, hope it works...id really like to hear your thoughts good or bad?

grow well

@TheChemist77 Thanks for that heads up about cdl light-----I'm certainly interested in your review.

I checked out their propaganda ------if true---- well worth $500.

From what I saw-----things I didn't like:

1) ballast is part of the hood taking up valuable vertical space instead of separated.

2) In some cases-----still may need air cooling.

3) all the other things you may discover

Hope you have a light meter

I hope Sativied doesn't get  at us for getting off track:cool:

I've got the CMH lamps, I use two of them to veg with. They're great... Mine are from advanced tech lighting. I think I paid a bit more than $240 per kit. Each kit contained the bulb and ballast. I had to purchase separate sockets, wiring, and reflector.

My veg plants look great. I got the 4K bulbs, but I think the 2700K would do well to flower with. I flowered with mine when I got them and didn't get much yield, but lots of greasy, oily, delocious buds.

I hope they do well for you!

Mine are Philips brand, BTW.

I hope you have a light meter----at what distance from the bulb is full sunlight intensity (~10,000 foot candles)?

An hps 1K its about 18" (new horitlux in reflector) 16" with glass.

Got any pics?

Thanks,

A~~~

I've no pics on this device, nor a light meter to measure with.

I will tell you that they do not produce much heat at all, and that mine are in batwing reflectors, and that they grow plants very well!

That's about all I can tell ya

i was hoping i can take the ballast off the top to save verticle space, but if not ill deal with it just shorten plant height..i really hope they work as advertised.. changing bulbs every 5 years is way better than every 6-8 months,,pluss i can finally get rid of the cool tube and stop cleaning glass every 56 days!!! no more cuts n scrapes on my arms reaching in the tube to clean..lol

I've been running 2 of these 315w 3100k Philips Elite Agro bulbs, under Sun Systems reflectors for about a year. No shit, these things rock it for flowering:
