sounds rockin man , and good plan on the emergency backup , i was actually thinkin about doubling up on my battery stash so that there would be ( ideally 24hours worth) if it so happened my mains was to go.
As for the pole , thats sumthin u only notice with trial and error but i wouldnt want 1 of my finer creations ending 1 falling and fookin up all ur other hard work i hope the weather keeps under control by our standards till u get it soprted . .
i was also wondering about the windturbine turning from its base so it can go with the strongest wind , mayb a tad more work but might be worth it in the long run - at that i did a crap little sketch of a turbine that rotates but has a constantly south facing panel for solar .. im blabbering again, appologies lack of sleep.
have u tested the classic bicycle peddle to the metal output for the odd chance we may have some still days?

Cannabiscrusader thanks for showin that vid. Hopefully that is true, and will be available VERY soon. I would buy one for my home, and one for my op. I would use some of the money I save on electricity to invest in IR blocking film..yeahh.

even if that machine does work, it wont be let out for awhile, or at all. Do you know who killed the electric car? the oil companies, that is a fact. ev1 and ev2 were discontinued because they worked so well. The oil companies literally forced every single person who owned an electric vehicle to drive it onto the car trailers to be destroyed. Its fucking discusting the things our country does.

i aint going to use an alternator for the big blades i`m going to make my on generator/alternator that will take me a week or 2 but fairly simple really all i would need is ..
car wheel hub assembly and disc
enamelled copper wire
NdFeB (Neodymium) magnets
some nice strong wood
10 foot scaffold pipe
and various other objects
found all the info i needed on http://www.reuk.co.uk

had a little accident last night the wind was too strong and blew it down while spinning so my blades are now in lots of pieces
But no problem ive just made some more and will be installing them tomorrow and wiring it up temp to test what voltage/amp is being produced
i will keep u lot posted on the progress

i am in the process of going self Sufficient in my shed.
i am building a wind turbine/generator which will charge a bank of batteries in my other shed which comprises of 10 12v wagon/truck batteries which will then have a 600watt inverter which will power my lighting in my grow shed
i will keep everyone posted on my progress and post pictures as soon as its ready..
DUDE! YEAH MAN! You're wicked cool. :fire: I've had the idea of doing it for years, now if you could just set it up in an old train cargo box. :spew:I'm not up to weather, but if you said that you'de make my day. :hump: I personaly would look into solar, or some other man made generating method/machine.

i`m very nearly up and running
i am going to have to make some smaller blades cos when the wind gets above 15mph or so the blades are bending and snapping
but i now have 1 battery to wire up and test
so al make some more blades (smaller ones) then wire it up and post some pictures
