Super-newb - Aerogarden Grow

Went to Home Depot today, got a couple CFLs and some setup stuff. Couldn't find any "stand-alone" CFL-plugins, except one crappy lamp I found at goodwill, but I found some Outlet-Socket converters, and some socket splitters.
Using that with an extension cord at the moment, looks like it should work alright. I'm concerned about the weight though, seems to be leaning weight-wise to the right.
Got duct-tape to hold it down, think that'll be alright?

Also got some Yeast/Sugar, gonna try that in a couple days or so, give em time to adjust to CFL/Nutes first.

As for my ladies, I topped off with nute-water yesterday, gonna just top-off for the next few days, then flush nearer to the weekend.

Main girl is doing fine, got a nice healthy top on her. Sexy and Snazzy Skunk are doin good as well. I'm hoping the CFL boost can help jump-start their growth, so I can top em soon :)

Lookin good Leova!!! Those top leaves are lookin' healthy. Keep it up and you will be very happy.

I'm liking the new lights, definitely a plus. I can't wait to top mine so I can use them as clones, just for fun. Not really too worried about em. You should look into getting a UV bulb from the pet store. My plants are loving it. I'm bout to post some pics on my thread, so you should come check it out.

It'll be better to have some 6500K bulbs, but I think for now there won't be any problems. You still have the AG lights, right?

You can pick up a 4 pack of 100W Equivs 6500K for like 12 bucks at Lowes or HD.

That 4 pack you're referring to... is that the 4-pack of spirals i've seen already already, or a 4-pack of AG aftermarket, non factory replacements i HAVEN'T??

they look good man... those light will def stimulate growth. I still think you have the hood way too high though. It should be alot closer to the tops..... they will grow alot faster....

actually had it much lower, had to raise to fit the CFLs in there

but got em on a stand next to it now, hood all the way lowered. Out of town for 2 days, see what hapepns

Sounds good. Gotta keep that light low. I'll be waiting for the next update.

how are those new lights working out for you? in my grows i've always been shocked the difference an extra light here and there makes.
im ordering seeds for AG grow soon, and i'm asking around.. where did you get your seeds??

not sure about the lights, have a worry! Gone since Monday night, its now Thursday. Gotta be outta town till Friday night, think my girls will make it?

I topped off the tank before I left, and they haven't been drinking that much. But with the new lights, I'm concerned they might get thirsty!

phew! My girls survived, and are lookin' damn sexy!

Came back after 4 days gone, res was almost empty. Plenty of roots, so little water. Plants droopin like crazy! Topped off the res, went to sleep, woke up to find them like this :)
The light makes a TON of difference, holy cow! All that growth, and in 4 days with poor water/nute conditions. Imagine if I'd been here!

Bought "Grow Big" from Foxfarm, gonna start using that in a couple days. Should I top/FIM these girls now?

Also, seeing some protrusions from the Y-junctions near the nodes. Thats not signs of sex yet, right, just more regular growth?

Decided to go ahead and try to FIM one of my girls.
If it goes well, I will top and/or FIM the other plants as well, gonna give the first gal a couple days, see what happens...

This thing is so frickin sweet, as long as you leave it with water/nutes/power, it almost grows on its own!

could you please elaborate as to why you say topping is better than FIMing?
From what I've heard, FIMing apparently makes more colas, and that's what we're all looking for, right?
