thelittletruck's first grow - 3 WW IN SOIL w/ CFLS

Hello, this is my first grow.

I'm growing 3 white widow seeds ordered from nirvana under CFLS. I currently have 5 40 watt cfls and 3 23 watt cfls that I am going to use.
I posted some pic of my grow setup below.

Seedlings were germinated after 3 days of soaking in a paper towel. Then they were placed in 20% perlite / 80% miracle grow with an inch layer of perlite at the bottom of the pots.

I plan on vegging for about 2 weeks, then flowering about 7-8 weeks.

All comments are appreciated! Let me know how I am doing!

2 days after the seeds were placed in the soil, I got my first sprout!
The next day, I got the two others :D

I had kept 1 42 watt cfl over the center of the pots since I put them in the soil.

I have been watering each using about 3 tablespoons of pH'ed water each day

My soil mix has a pH reading of approx. 6.7, so my pH'ed water is about 6.0.

The miracle grow potting soil has slow release fertilizer so I am not concerned with adding my own nutes to the mix.

The pics are of the plants in the order they sprouted.

It is 3 days since the first sprout.

The CFLs are left on 24/7. Still 1 above each plant w/ soda can reflectors :D.
My lights aren't directly above a few of the plants, so I think i will need to get another Y splitter to stretch a bit more over the plant. I am also thinking of getting some more lights to go around the plants on the sides my current lights wont reach. But that's in the future.

When I'm not staring and my sprouts :D, the closet is closed with a little crack on either side for airflow. I have a vortex fan hooked up in the closet to blow air around. The temperature fluctuates from about 78 F to 74 F.

So far all looks good!

I live in an apartment and keeping odors to a minimum is a major concern of mine. My grow closet is in my bedroom. I built a carbon filter system so we'll see how that works when they start smelling. Anyone have any idea of how much they will smell and how best to deal with it?

Some more pics.

This is awesome. HAHA

So today is the 6th day (i believe) since they sprouted.

Just some info:
I have been watering with 2-3 tablespoons / day since the beginning.
The lights are kept on 24/0 and are within 1-2 inches from the top of the sprouts.

During the day when I'm at home, the closet is left open and the fans are turned off. This keeps a temperature of about 75-80 F. At night, the closet is closed and a fan (on low) is turned on to keep the heat down. I bought a cheap oscillating fan, but it is a little too powerful for the sprouts right now. They wobbled precariously and began tilting noticeably away from the fan. So I am only using my old fan until the plants grow bigger.

Today (day 6), I gave each 1/2 cup of water.
Before I watered them, they looked a little droopy but within 30 minutes they perked up again.

The pictures below are from days 4-6.
Day 4 - plants 1-3
Day 5 - plants 1-3
Day 6 - plants 1-3

Unfortunately, one of my seedlings (plant 2) had a tweaked root system and was unable to support its own weight anymore. I checked it out and the roots grew up to a point, then grew a horizontal stem under the surface of the soil about a cm away to the point where it came out of the ground. WTF? lol.

So, I re-potted it. Just dug out the roots and then buried them in a bit deeper and straightened the bend in the stem. Hopefully, all goes well.

So sad :(.

Aight, DAY 9 of VEG

No water today.
Still only 1 light above each plant (24/0), though I am thinking of adding some new ones pretty soon.

Plants 1 and 3 look very healthy. Unfortunately, the plant I re-potted doesn't look so good. It hasn't grown anything new and is a much darker green than the other plants. But, IT IS STILL ALIVE, and therefore I believe it is just in a period of recuperation after being re-potted. Hopefully all goes well.

More pics, plants 1,1,2,3.
