But I thought you were all about the facts, bro?

You can't make fun of a Trump supporter because he supports NAFTA without being a hypocrite for supporting the Clintons when they're the fuckin' ones who passed it, dipshit
LOL

Speaking of facts, Trump is just saying "for now"

Trump says no plan to pull out of NAFTA 'at this time'

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/trump-contemplating-plans-to-let-us-withdraw-from-nafta/2017/04/26/f1e326f2-2ab7-11e7-b605-33413c691853_story.html

The worst is to decide for a "non-decision but maybe make one later". Recessionary no matter what the final decision is. It would have been better to say nothing at all. Why do you always defend Trump?

because the alt-left and the alt-right want the same basic thing: the exaltation of white males above all others.

I'm laughing at Buck for being a complete retard for criticizing someone who supports NAFTA when he also supports NAFTA and both Clintons responsible for passing it. Interestingly enough, Sanders progressives are the only ones who unabashedly oppose NAFTA and the TPP.

So, breaking a trade agreement with your neighbor countries after 20 years is something that should be done without thought?

No, but altering a trade agreement to actually benefit working class people of all nations involved (as the agreement was predicated upon its passage) as opposed to corporations and elites should be done given the years of data collection that proves the latter.

you may want to look into the relation between the telecommunications industry in mexico and illegal immigration. also suggested is to look into the effect nafta has had in making a few americans rich at the expense of millions of mexican farmers. just check some of my posts, i'm sure i have blathered about it before
mexican farmers get about a third for their crop compared to pre-nafta times. they can't compete with heavily subsidized american crops.
you should know about all the factories that relocated there thanks to nafta, leaving americans out of work, then shut down and moved to asia (where human rights standards are even lower yet), leaving mexicans out of work. also, you seem to have completely skipped over the 2-3 million farmers out of work because their $100 subsidy can't compete with the $20,000 subsidy the us farmer gets. the few remaining get about a third for their crop as pre-nafta. yet you call this better than ever? weird, man
while nafta may have not decimated all of mexico, it certainly has devastated rural farmers by the millions.
LOL!

Altering the trade agreement in what way? As you point out the problem with NAFTA is that it's enforced mostly in the breach. We have a thriving trade with Mexico that would be improved by staying in and sticking to the kind of agreements you refer to. The problem with NAFTA is the behavior of the players, not the agreement.

Trump's statements about cancelling NAFTA outright and imposing a punitive tariff was an idiots move.. A recessionary move too.

If Mexico isn't observing the terms of the treaty then it's more the reason to stick to the treaty and work for those improved working conditions you refer to. We want to expand economies in the partner countries and the US and cancelling the treaty to stop trade is a foolish thought. I doubt that's what Sanders purports to do.

In a way that allows prosperity to be felt among everyone involved, not just the top tier

Then that's what needs to be changed. There should be no Democrats OK with this redistribution of prosperity

Sanders support free trade agreements that actually benefit working people. Shocking! I know.. NAFTA and the TPP do not benefit working people. How much did your average American make pre-NAFTA? How much does he make now? How much did America import/export pre-NAFTA, how much do we import/export now? Go down the list. The things NAFTA was supposed to improve have dramatically diminished in value specifically because of unregulated trade focused on benefitting the wealthy at the expense of the poor and working class.

what is it with you and the false bifurcations, curtis?
Not sure why it's such a hard question to answer.. You say pretty clearly here you don't support NAFTA, and your previous posts from 2010 very clearly show you don't.. But for whatever strange reason, you can't admit it here, now.

That reason would be because both Clintons support it, and you support both Clintons

How intellectually honest of you

Do you realize you can disagree on the issues with a politician you support and still support them? For example, I disagree with Sanders on energy, yet I still support him on his economic policy

Because I think it's important to hold politicians accountable, especially the ones you support

nope. if you support a politician you support every last thing they have ever done in perpetuity and throughout the universe.
