I doubt that, somebody041. If anything, they would speed up... I would think.

OhSo? You are the expert... what do you think?

hey ohso, my growroom sometime gets into the 90's. does this mean i am killing off the spt i put in the pots?
.
Somebody041...... No, not unless that temp is maintained for an extended period of time (like 7 to 10 days).
.
If your grow room temps are dropping after lights off to below 80 degrees, they will bounce back. Bacteria & Fungi never sleep, all they do is bioconvert (eat, shit out NPK in a more soluble form & reproduce). One bacteria, 24 hours later can be a million. There numbers are constantly going up & down.
.
If your grow room is running in the 90 degree plus range, that is working againt you - concerning your plants. Plants exposed to temps above 85 degrees will transpire (like sweating) at a faster rate, loosing more water and making less efficent use of the nutes available to them.
.
You need to get the temp under 85 degrees or you're shooting yourself in the foot. Wasting electricity on a light that's not really doing you much good and stressing your plants which causes more males to show up.
.
Supply some cooler air, exhaust the heat via a fan, redo you lights on, light off schedule or all three.
.
Hope this helps......

On a Green House Co. grow they kept the temp at 77F with lights on and 66F with lights off in all of their grows, so i imagine temps anywhere around those should be pretty good.

Droski7.... Yes, as long as you keep your grow room temps below 85 and above 60...... you are good to go.......
.
Having a 10 degree difference between lights on temps & lights off temps, is best for Mary. Temps should rise & fall......

My grow room is a 10ft by 6ft shed, that i can seal off from any outside air. I have a window unit in there to keep my temps regulated, since there is a window unit that will be bringing in air will i need an additional air intake or will the window unit work just fine??? Also will i need to get a CO2 tank for my babies to breath or will the window unit bring in enough fresh air for them to survive????

you should post in the grow room design. IT is easy answer. First rule of forums, they work best if you post in the right place.;]

I just received my first bottle of SPT. I have a few questions.

1. Can this be used on seedlings?

2. Can I add it to a compost tea to be brewed?
.
Orange Shovel CAGrower....... The anwser to your questions is Yes.
.
For use with seedlings, mix a half strength and give each one only 16 ounces of your mixed up SPT solution, if they are in a one gallon pot. Less if they are in a smaller pot.
.
SPT can be added to Compost Tea, it will enhance it greatly. One ounce will work for 2 to 3 gallons, I use two ounces when I brew up 4 to 5 gallons of compost tea.

Hope this helps....

Ohso,
I just wanted to thank you for all the great info you share with everyone. I do have a some questions for you though. What tea do you brew for seedlings? I brewed up this for 1gal. 4tbls castings, 1tsp SPT, and 1tbls molasses. What would you change or add and why? I hope this helps some others as well.

Thanks in advance. + REP

Really?..... Your tea formula is a good one.... no need to change or add anything... it is completely mild and will not burn your tender seedlings......

Are there any similarities between Super Plant Tonic and Super Thrive?
.
Arizona Dude..... Both are growth stimulants..... SPT is a all natural source of micro nutes & micro-beasties (both benefit Mary).....
.
Super Thrive is a chemical mystery...... it contains some vitamins, synthetic root growth stimulants & other ingredients (harsh chems ?) the maker will not confirm or deny........so who really knows...... :(
.
I prefer to know what I'm putting in my pot......

Hope this helps.....
