Arizona Dude..... Both are growth stimulants..... SPT is a all natural source of micro nutes & micro-beasties (both benefit Mary).....
.
Super Thrive is a chemical mystery...... it contains some vitamins, synthetic root growth stimulants & other ingredients (harsh chems ?) the maker will not confirm or deny........so who really knows...... :(
.
I prefer to know what I'm putting in my pot......

Hope this helps.....

Hey, just some info I picked up.

More foam and bubbles means a fungi tea I think I read. Also If you bubble past a day the bacteria population increases. More Molesasses will equal more bacteria. They love to eat that N that the molassess gives. I hate spelling molasses.

I think this is right. Also I have beed reading that mj loves the bacteria more than fungi as far as I understand fungi play a smaller role.

This makes me happy as my spt teas have been relatively small on the bubbles. I get a little then just tea. I feed 1 tbsp molasses a gallon.

Where can you pick up the molasses at??
.
Droski7..... The ceral isle at most any grocery store, next to the pancake syrup....
.
Get Grandma's or Brer Rabbit brand....both are unsulphured & work well......
.
Avoid molasses with sulphur in it, the sulphur will kill micro-beasties......

Hope this helps......

Really?..... Your tea formula is a good one.... no need to change or add anything... it is completely mild and will not burn your tender seedlings......

Cool! I have only fed seedlings once with this tea so far. However I have added a tsp. molasses and kept it bubbling. Do you think it's OK to use again? I started debating whether I should or not.

Thanks for the help!

you shouldnt ever use molasses on seedlings. the molasses is only needed during flowering. There is no point for it during veg and seedling stage. Save the molasses and just use water with not nutes for 2 weeks and then start with alittle nitrogen. maybe alittle GH florablend.

Mollasses is to feed microbeasties. I have not seen any negative effects from it. Why should it not be used during youth?

hey, 1 tbsp to a gallon of ro water for your fert tea. just mix in, no boiling. add airstones, the more the better. the molasses has food in it to feed the bacteria in the tea. no gh florablend. no chem at all. only use organic things. gh will kill the microherd waiting to feed your plants. more bacteria, more food available to roots. this is all about organics, natural, read or just follow instructions, lol, this is not superstion or arrogance, lol, but science. The soil has to stay alive for good good reasons.

So can i just add 1 tbsp of mollasses to a gallon of water with some SPT in it??
.
Droski7.... Yes, that will make a nice little pick me up for Mary...... the micro-beasties will " bioconvert " eat & poop out the NPK from the molasses in a highly soluble form (it's about a half & half thing - they consume half & Mary gets the other half), & then they start work on the contents of your grow medium.
.
I have used molasses in veg growth for the last 11 years, from the second set of leaves on, not just in flowering, with excellent results.

I use it on seedlings and clones. Some more advice, when you bubble it, larger bubbles are better. I come from a DWC start and I was used to smaller bubbles being better. Small bubbles will kill micro beasties! ;)

Is it good to airate the water before you mix in the BMO. Like put an airpump in the water for about 24 hours, then mix in the nutes and give to the plant. Or just regular water not airated???

Hey, good news on the large bubble theory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOW!!!!!.

I have made maybe 8 teas so far. Previously I have only had bubbles in one tea. Last night I had huge froth and head a nice amber color. My plants loved it.

So I say the tea is def better. And I guess that would be better if the water was pre aired.

'excellent thread with tons of great info... many thanks!

'question: i'm going into week three of flowering in my current grow (indoor soil) and, having just discovered this thread, have just ordered some SPT... is it too late then in the growth cycle for SPT to have an appreciable effect on root development/nute absorbtion ability? also, if it'd make sense to start using SPT now, should i give the soil a flush period prior to using SPT?

thanks again

.
Georgi345.... You could mix up the SPT at full mixing strength and give it one application.
.
The micro-beasties in the SPT will breakdown the insoluble ferts in your soil and feed them to Mary for one last kick of goodness. What she does not take in, then can be more easily flushed out of your medium. They will also protect your roots from bad bacteris / fungi and generally increase plant health in general. Healther plants put on more budage and finish better.
.
So, with the SPT it's not to late.

Hope this helps...
