I live close to a YMCA but dont know if they train dogs or not. I will check into that. Thanks GG
About training dogs. You have to be very consistent, that means when you're high you have to get out of your easy chair and re-enforce the command. That does not mean being cruel, mean or screaming. It, also, means that you will be going for lots and lots of walks. If you're kind and consistent they will do and be what you want.

I forgot to tell you to ask the trainer about hand signals and other controls. If they don't know how they might be good enough for basic training but not much else. If you can, try to find a trainer that will take you all the way through, because they will understand you and your dog without an introductory period. BTW, it's cool to not say a word and be in total control.

My best dog was a Black Lab. Loyal, gentle, good with kids, protective and very smart, everything I ever wanted-in a man. lol

If you have any questions just PM me.

Well I am super bored and figured I would see how many of you people have dogs. I am a pitbull owner and shes the shit. Shes half brendal and half blue. I was told she was reverse brendal but IDK.
I figured it would be cool to have a thread discussing training techniques and other info related to raising and training dogs as well as introducing them.

My dogs name is MaMa. 9 mos old.
What color do they call that?
heres my puppys.

Thanks man! Your dog looks great as well, has almost the same looking spot on his chest as mine. They're awesome dogs and that pic just shows how beastly they are. Its pretty scarry seeing a 100+lb dog tearing ass in the backyard then jumping six feet in the air, dont get in the way lol. ide like to see the pic of the other beast!

I was in prison a couple years back and we had a dog program in there where inmates could train and keep dogs until adopted by the humaine society. I am ok at basic training. She listens awesome and I can walk her with no leash(tho its illegal cause shes pit) I never have to tell her more than once. I wanted to get a biter sleeve but their like 200 bux. I taught her to jump a 5 ft fence and she does without touching it. She loves eating basket balls. hahaha

I'm with ya. I have a llasapoo, aka llaso apso/poodle mix. Little dog/ big attitude/ big bark/ great security system. She doesn't look dangerous, but she's very protective of this house....hell, she's protective of the street, and much like the hulk, you wouldn't like her when she's angry.

Got her because she was a rescue that needed a home, not because of her breed. Turns out she's a designer something or other that is in high demand.

I have an Australian Terrier/Mini Poodle mix. Not big but that's what my .45 hollow points are for.

About training...download Cesar Milans video. The dog whisper guy. He's Spanish. Knows his fucking shit though. Great training exercises. Then once your pit is truly obedient...which she isn't at such a young age...you get special security classes taken. But really no dog should be used to attack. You can kill someone just as easy as someone can kill her. She'd only be a good distraction because if someone hears a pit roar and comes in anyway...chances are they are armed and your pup will be the only victim.

The logic seems correct. U are right. I dont want her to growl though. I had a pit before her and his name was brutus and also like 4 times the size of her. He would just sit in the dark and if you came in my shit, you wouldnt know it until its too late. A black buddy of mine came over one day and didnt see bruto by the steps and all I heard was my dude yelling. I went downstairs and seen brutus standing up and had my buddy pinned up to the wall just lookin him dead in the eye. My dude was so scared.....it was funny. Brutus wasnt going to hurt him, just waiting for me to come and say it was ok. after that he never bothered my buddy again. But he hated black people and I didnt train hiim to do that. Why is this a common trait in pits?

yea I dont want to kill anyone but being a felon its against the law for me to own a gun, like I obey the law though obviously. but anyway I bought a kick ass bb repeater that fires at 1200 feet per sec and unloads over 30 shots in like five seconds. If you come in my house and get shot with it, Im pretty sure you might not stick around for long, them bbs go in the skin deep and god does it hurt bad. Seems childish but its better than doing 5 upstate for a weapons under disability charge or attempted murder. Plus Ohio has no self defense law. They say run and screaming for help is just as good I guess.

thx...I aint even a pit guy either for real. I like dobermans but I was offered her for free so shit. About 6 mos back I got a visit from the dog warden for not having beware of dog signs posted and he found she was unregistered so now with all the shots and tags and 300,000 insurance policy plus a micro-chip, Ive invested alot in her and now love her more than ever since I almost lost her to the pound. But I still like dobermans.

*Cough* Michael Vick & Co. *Cough*

That BB gun sounds effective to be honest. Let's hope it's loud or very accurate. :D Teaching her to recongize intruders wouldn't hurt though. But attacking...eh. You could train her to bark then bolt upstairs to your side and wake you. Then you can be ready.

I dodged a couple felonies...luckiest thing ever. I love my concealed carry permit. :D And my .45 :hump:
