Agree that would be quite a project but you wouldnt be the first to jump ship. Also the benefits might pay off quickly. Too many variables to make a generalization but skilled growers get well over 1 gpw even with larger set ups.

Pozenn i grew sweet buds with mars. The cheap panels grow bud just not hard, dank big ones.
i do 9 plants under each gavita with an average of 4-5 zips per plant. ill let you do the math.lol

Im not great at math...i get ~3800gm under 3000w. Like i said experienced growers are claiming larger yields watt per watt

Stiil thats impressive. I have no experience in large setups but pretty much all of the cxb growers expect 1.25-1.5 gpw.

yep. a 1000 watts of led willl outgrow a 1000 watts of hps, but what are the benefits of running 1000 watts of led. even the led guys will tell you that they work better when not being pushed. and 1000 watts od led id very expensive and as stated, takes a lot of equipment.

yes thats all true. but running 1000 w of cxb soft will grow mad bud...I think supra has a 1500w cxb @65% efficiency.

I just filled my little room with 2 k5's and they are some brite lights. I started with cheaper ipower hps then switched to the Mars hydro from eBay and now to the kind's image.jpgHuge difference between the proposed 600 watt Mars and the 1000 watt kind.

Since I switched my plants havnt grown an inch. Maybe shock?? Tons of dead lower fan leaves and some nut burned looking tips. Not sure but I did read about overdoing light. K5's cover a 5x5 area. I have 11 autos in a 6x6 with these. I also think I should have raised the lights.

Day 45 on Girl Scout, dinafem critical and vast and fast. The dinafem was the biggest plant last week and now the most yellow

I'm in the same boat as for trying to find a good light. As of now I have a dimmable 600 watt hps in a xl cooltube. This will be in my garage In 18"x76 closetmaid box I build. I don't know if my light can cover my area and I'm worried about heat. image.jpg

The 76" part will be a little of a stretch but the light for that area should be more than enough especially if you put up some sort of reflective material on the inside. As for heat it will get super warm in there. Leds have a higher proposed wattage than they draw so theoretically they give off less heat. One actuall watt of LED is still equal to one watt of hps though.

My room has 2 1000 watt LEDs that draw 650 at the wall and the room is actually warmer than the 2 600 watt hps I was running. Kind led says virtually no heat. That's a joke
