Wondering who grows using hydro to grow there meds. High pressure to low pressure tell about your system. Tell about your success and pit falls.

Yeap. Mulit stage, multi strain, perpetual ebb and flow. This is my business. Not a hobby. Dirt is for outdoors!! Mom taught me that as a child ;)

#1 problem is probably going to be water temp. Almost impossible to do real hydro without a chiller, because room temp is almost already too warm.

Ebb & Flow 2.5 gal grow and Deep Water Culture 5 gal flower here. I'm too old to play with dirt any longer ;)

Tru dat on tibberous' water temp comment, unchecked heat can cause root rot in your buckets that will break your heart.

I have a few Ebb & Gro systems.

I storing beer cans and change for this chiller.

I still want to grow in organic soil also. I find that more practical for misc strains, keeping mothers, shit like that.
I find value in both.
My last ebb n gro run, I invested in Advanced Nutrients Sensi 2-part
with these additives.

I was a huge investment and I am pretty happy with the results.

I would consider my system a custom ebb/flow system. I have taken rockwool slabs cut into three, one per plant then into a common tray that I hand water daily. This has eliminated the need for a chiller and I can hand water 30 plants in an hour or so.

The downside to this system is they require water every day, when I planted three to a full slab you could actually go a couple of days without recourse.

I run an ebb-n-grow. 24 pot under 3 1000's. I also have a 3x6 ebb-n-flow table under 2 400's. That table actually has been converted to a top drip system with coco for the time being.

After this harvest I'm planning on converting to 3 4x4 ebb-n-flow tables, so I can harvest every 3 weeks instead of one big awfully tough harvest.

I've got anohter coco setup too in a seperate tent. :). Not true hydro though.

That wouldn,t be an ebb or flow. I completely follow what you are saying though. To make you style easier, IMO if you hooked up a drip system you would be doing the same
thing, without having to do the watering. I have a manifold that has 6 spaghetti tubes going to drippers in the rockwool partial slabs of yours. If I didn't have the ebb and gro
system, that is what I would be using. The stuff to do it is cheap also. If it's handy I'll grab some pics.

No u are hand watering in RW. That is not a ebb and flow system.

Cool thanks for the help i am growing dwc vertical right now with twin stacked 1000 watters. I just built a 4x4 ebb and flow table would like to know how your prepetual grow works with flood tables how many tables do you run. Thanks again for the help.

I run a perpetual DWC using the Lucas system as well. I haven't found a way to get better yields with less work. The only drawback to me is having to pick up the lids to feed then when they get bigger. I get i could solve that by hooking the buckets together but I've done that before and it takes the simplicity out of DWC IMO.

I also grow in coco Hempys.

I have always entertained the idea of hydro but have always had my soil/soiless setup dialed in so have alawys been a bit hesitant to change... what you guys think would be a good way to ease into hydro because in all reality most everything about hydro seems more efficieant and practical... any help or advice would be nice.... not meaning to thread jack here if any problems i can start a new thread thanks...

Ebb and Grow style bucket system is a fantastic way to ease into hydro. Not just in Michigan forum but all over rollitup people are using bucket system.
I find having both hydro and soil better than one or the other.

DWC will get you where you want to be. Good thing about it is the plants are separate so you can try 1 at a time until you see if you like it. Plus is very cheap to get started, maybe $15. I'd recommend trying a bubble bucket with the Lucas system for starters until you get used to it.

I run a DIY built high pressure system using 6" square PVC fence post at 54" long x four of them. 3 plants per post with 8 spray nozzles each. Run my pressure at 100-110psi. My reservoir is a pelican case that is air tight with a o-ring seal with a large ceramic stone bubbling the nutes. Interesting thing about running a sealed system is that roots do not enter drains due to air moving from reservoir to post via 1 1/2" drain pipes. This is my first run on this system so far so good need to pick up some cal mag running into a issue with that.
