Do you know if these pots will be big enough for these "fast n vast" autos ??
They are approximately 5L/ 1.3gal
The plant is supposed to get 1.5m/ 5ft tall.
Otherwise I will be transplanting tomorrow into bigger.

Honestly I don't know. But from what I hear is that you want atleast 3 gallon pots and no transplanting.

But in traditional gardening "usually" bigger pots means bigger yields.

Yields come within time. We strive for 2lbs per 1K..

I just ran my first auto. 150 g of great trophy buds. Fucking killed it. Every bud on that beautiful plant was useable. Thats on par for production with my plants that run 180 days or more, in bigger pots, taking up more space and half the nutrients! Same production in half the time and half the space. Is that worth ten bucks to you? Fuckin eh rights it is to me. Ya just have to find good ones which can be tough, but your on riu so if you asked around youd find some good suggestions. I just popped six for an all auto grow. If you find strong ones that produce theyre fucking awesome. Theyve come a long way from the shitbirds that were around a few years ago. And the whole 150grams took 1 hour to hand trim because the whole thing was bud with almost no leaves. Win win win. image.png

I put my Fast & Vast (contest winner :) ) in a 3gal, you want about a gallon per month of life. While I disagree with the OP on the quality of modern Autos, I have always wondered why they were suggested for beginners. I find them so easy to permanently fuck up, any little mistake anywhere in the grow will seriously hurt yield. I'm just finishing a round of Autos and though they look really good minor mistakes have hurt most of them and I probably won't be running more any time soon. I haven't done 12/12 from seed, but I was always told it takes about 3 weeks to sex so wouldn't it be closer to 11 weeks to flower a photo from 12/12? I'm not sure a photo can be done anywhere near as fast as an Auto, and certainly won't yield as much on a 12/12 from seed run.

My advice for beginners is to grab some White Widow, Northern Lights, Critical+ (2.0 for mold resist) , etc and try to stay out of the way ;)

I couldn't tell you, I've never smoked an auto. But I hear that they are fluffy. But I'm sure the genetics are improving.

But when autos first came out they were extremely crappy.. Lol lowrider#2 .. 10 gram plants, lol no thanks..
I started with autos because they were easy as a first run. I did Russian Rocket Fuel and it was rediculously bomb. Whoever told you autos sucks is an idiot!! The only shitty part about autos is they don't pack the weight that photos do. I agree that fems are garbage, and I personally don't run autos anymore and haven't for years, but there are some auto varieties that kill. Hell in these forums there are some masters that still mess with autos. It's just a different flavor...but back to fems...fuck fems! :bigjoint:

Y'all do know they suck right? They are a horrible idea to even start with.

You can't take cuttings, they yield like shit and they use more light..

Can one of y'all share with me why you would possibly ever want to grow shit genetics?
They are not shit. Autos are not what they used to be. The xxl and other large autos get big.

They are also a lot stronger than they used to be. I've grown quit a few lately that would be on par with any of the top strains. Two hit type weed.

They are good for personal grows. They are very pest and pm resistant. That's from the ruderalis genes.

They are good for guerilla growing because of size and multiple harvest per year outside.

They are good for filling the edges of a veg room out.

Multiple reasons to grow them. No reason to bash them. They can't be that shitty, they are getting more and more popular. They don't get that way for being shit.

A few years ago autos were hit and miss. They were either really good or really bad. Breeders are getting more consistent.

I don't know, yeah definitely bored. I'm a breeder getting ready to launch a seed company. My motto is no fems or autos. I don't care if they sell better. But from a breeders stand point I can only see one reason to sell them and that's for buyers to return to buy more seeds. Great business idea, but I believe in quality.

I'm not saying they are completely trash. But I just think they are a waste of time.
Kinda narrow minded aren't we?

Launch a seed company?????

The fem issue is hotly contested from time to time. I think your narrow minded and misinformed on it...

Most "newbies" know almost, TO nothing about growing anything!
Problem with that is seen all over the site!

Auto's I feel have their place....I don't run them by choice.
I have test run some nice one's!
I do feel they are too fussy for my liking!
I have never been able to find a "taste" difference in them vs. any non-auto strain.....If you do it's because it was cured wrong or they're "looking" for one!

False.

Absolutely false dank.

You are wrong on that and just repeating rhetoric.
Well this is actually correct. Fem beans do have more herm tendencies, as you've either stressed them to the point of reversal, or done it chemically. This is passed down in the breeding process. This is the reason the majority if not all of the legit reputable breeders do not sell fems. I say majority because some contest certain companies whether they are reputable or not.

I'll just put my .2 in here. I bought them since they were cheaper (where I ordered from) than fem. photo variants. That said, I also liked that I could focus more on getting the temperature in check, lighting and everything else on a seed that had more of a "survival" gene pool. Sure, the yield probably won't be as good, but it'll last me untill my photo seeds are ready to harvest :)

Hence, you don't breed with a hermie....fems are made so you can have a version of a strain you really like, without much work. No breeders breed with fems for a reason. i ran tons of fems back in the day that didn't herm. Had lots that did. Same as regular seeds. Some are strain specific, some are from manipulation. Fems just have more of a tendency to do it, especially for people who are new and don't have their environment and feeding lock down.

I got some free with an order. Dinafem White cheese auto. Dwc, started under t5, to a 400 to a 600, 10 wks, 32"tall x32"wide, heavy side branching, frosty, just over 7oz's. Not strong, but does the job. Tasted cheesy. I was hot the whole grow, shit was fluffy.

man I personally feel like there are a lot of strains that were bred with hermies involved. for example chem strains the story goes that there were a couple seeds in a couple ozs what does that sound like to you? or how about how all the strains we have originate out of huge fields that we all know damn well the farmers weren't separating any plants out of. A lot of clone only strains will start throwing nanners at about 8 weeks.
