The tea party has nothing to do with religion. I'm an aethiest and was a strong supporter of the tea party back before it was hijacked by morons like Sarah Palin. You sound ignorant.
I'm just curious Bombur, what makes you think Sarah Palin is a moron, can you be specific please?

The "ad" made an excellent point as does Sarah Palin. She is brilliant and presents in-your-face sound principles based on the constitution and Bill of Rights as opposed to the crap spewed by the Liar-In-Chief.

ahhhhhhhhh, feel the race baiting coming on. For the record, this morning I was threatened with a ban for not being politically correct by using the "thug" word. You see, it's OK for a black to use it but if a white does, noooooooooo. So, if I go, it's now public record as to why.

Political correctness is alive and well in RIU, as is censorship and hypocrisy.

Its a Tea Party advertisement poster, and those guys believe some Demi-God Zombie Jew chilled with Dinosaurs 2000 years ago, so I'd call the factuality of it dubious at best, but if you can show me some numbers backing it up then I support the whole message.

But I also disagree with the notion of increasing minimum wage beyond adjusting it for inflation because I believe it only hurts the lower and middle classes (who it's supposed to be protecting).
You are thinking of Christian Fundamentalists, it aint the TEA party. Taxed Enough Already= TEA, was once a libertarian movement, but was corrupted by the republicans into BS.

I would bet all the money in my wallet Sarah Palin has never read the Constitution and couldn't recite the Bill of Rights

I could personally give a fuck about a religious document which espouses an opinion not my own. It's baffling why anyone would. Try pissing off a cop by espousing your rights and see how fast they threaten to beat the shit out of you.

A State Governor? What a cheap shot! Can she even read? :) I get it, though. All the money in your wallet. Good one.

that's the great thing about facts, they really don't care whether you believe them or not.

i'm still waiting on nodrama and company for the first example of where an increase in min wage hurts, all we have are endless examples where minimum wage increases help by outpacing the rise in cost of consumer goods.

but hey, if you even have one single example to back up your factless claim, let's hear it.

Hurts the middle class? What a curious phrase. From the Latin, no doubt. Asstus Ream.

The bulk of economic studies demonstrate that raising the minimum wage destroys jobs.

You have already made the argument that Wages have outpaced Prices, so we don't need an increase anyway.

In 1977 Congress established the Minimum Wage Study Commission, which concluded that the “time-series studies typically find that a ten percent increase in the minimum wage reduces teenage employment by one to three percent.”

not really.

you're just lacking in facts so you rely on unfounded talking points.

still waiting on the first example from you where min wage hurts the middle class. hasn't it been like 5 days now and you still don't have shit?

Your graph says min wage in 1950 was $7 an hour.

it says REAL minimum wage was about $7 in 1950. that means actual minimum wage adjusted for inflation so that the number is not meaningless.

min wage in 1950 was $0.75

http://www.dol.gov/whd/minwage/chart.htm

in 2013 dollars that works out to $7.25 or so.

you are really, really bad at this.
Graph says based on CPI which was already busted with safeway.com earlier.

Min wage was .75 in 1950?

.75(wage in 1950) x .9(90% silver coinage) x 21.845(silver spot right now) = 14.745 per hour in 2014

funny, i only noticed a single link to a single safeway store, not an aggregation and averaging of prices for consumer goods nationwide.

but then again, i never did expect a dumb fuck like you to be able to evaluate evidence in a rational manner at all.

SO, basically what you are trying to show is that there is no inflation once you adjust for it again.

Nice try, won't work.

clearly retarded.

adjusting for inflation is not a denial of the existence of inflation.
