question ? in Perlite hempys, do you feed full or half strength every watering or feed full strength and then water twice and then feed full strength ? Trying to figure out some problems Im having late in bloom. Not sure if Im over feeding and creating a lock out or under feeding. I have been feeding full strength every watering. oh and what PH ?

TWS,

Check the pH and ppm of the rinseate.

I ran Perlite/Vermiculite 75/25 but I used GH MaxiBloom and the Lucas formula:

Lucas Formula using General Hydroponics Dry Nutrients (Maxibloom)
MaxiBloom and MaxiGro are dry nutrient also from General Hydroponics. It turns out, Maxibloom, used in a ratio of 7 grams per gallon of water*, is very close to the original Lucas Formula (above.) You do not need MaxiGro, and so this is the cheapest and easiest recipe to use.

Add 7 grams of Maxibloom into 1 gallon of water*, and then adjust the pH, and stir vigorously to dissolve the Maxibloom in the water. I advise putting the 7g of Maxibloom into a cup of warm water, dissolving it, and then adding it to the remaining gallon of water, before pH adjusting and mixing again.

I would feed every other watering and use straight pH'ed water when not feeding. I would also recommend flushing once during veg, at the start of 12/12 and at least twice during the flowering cycle. Be sure and heat some water to desolve the Maxibloom.

I am running Perlite/Coco coir this run and using the modified Lucas formual, or "Head's formula for Coco. Very clean nute program.

And I hope you have a very Merry Hempy Christmas!

yea I have been using Maxsea and feed every watering. I will start feed water feed. Probably switch over to the Flora Nova series next run.I probably have to flush more cause I never do. I hate flushing. When you have a large grow and cant move them all it makes a mess and takes a lot of water. I ran Lucas with the flora series and all though it worked I think it could of been better or it was my short comings. I read a lot of his stuff last night and he says You will have better vegg growth if you use the 3 part in vegg or flora Nova grow.
still dialing it in.

When I last ran my hemp I use specific drain to waste nutes by house of garden. They have a good customer service and I always feed with nutes at every feeding. Though there are some who feed, feed, water with other brand nutrients. What's your ppm's that you are feeding your girls?

Is Hempy typically 'slow to start' compared to soil?
My temps are a little low at times, down to 16°c but I'm sure there's virtually zero growth compared to last years soil run.

Is that normal?!?

My temps are relatively low too .. but I find Hempys take off very fast in comparison to other methods but this will likely be influenced by the substrate you're using. I use Mapito (Rockwool/Coco mix)

Do you go from seed or rooted clone?

...and what are you all doing here? Its Christmas day!!!
Everyday is Christmas day when you're growing your own bud :) ... (OK, not quite lol.)

This was from seed in Grodan plugs (ph'd to 5.5) and in perlite. 250w HPS, watered with ¼ strength dyna gro grow and protekt and a slash of kln rooter. Temp was down to 11 just now! I've added an oil filled radiator...

If the seed germinated well and its growing then you'll probably see a boost in growth a few weeks in ... remember, most of the growth is below ground in the early stage but when the root growth is sufficient then BOOM ... the plant should explode.

It goes without saying that rooted clones help skip a few weeks in this process.

Moe are you still running grandaddy purple?
Hi Rocket , it been a while ... LOL

No ... I lost all those GDP genetics and now can't buy them anywhere .. I do have some promising cheese strains on the go now though. about 3 weeks into bloom ... I'll post some pics in a day or two.

What you got going?

I'm probably just being impatient, but I'm sure I was seeing noticable growth from one day to the next last time...
We'll see where we are in a couple of days

Finishing up some reserva Prada tangie in coco, and halfway through 12/12 of sinmint cookies in coco. Once the tangie finishes I have some true canna genetics purple project (wich has some gdp in them)and super lemon haze. Once my sinmint cookies finish in January, I'm going back to hempy and do a sog from rooted clones with barneys blue cheese and blue dream.

When you go from seed there is always the small possibility that you'll have a slower or faster growing pheno than what you might expect. ... generally you'll be good if the roots are happy and establishing themselves.

Sounds AWESOME! ... so you'll be getting the BBC and Blue dream moms ready now then?. .. I started with 5 moms, after this run (my first in over a year) I will shortlist 3 of the best moms to keep. .. Then depending on flavour and yield I'll cut down to 1 or 2.

I've just got 23 hempy's in bloom atm but want to have an 80 SOG :) HAPPY DAYS :)
