Meat Eaters...

So the vegan thread… I want to know if you believe you must have meat in your daily diet. Are you as adamant about eating it as vegans are for NOT eating it and if so, why?

Taste?

Nutrition?

Gives you energy?

*I'm not bashing… (I was vegan and am now mostly vegetarian) and we raise our own beef so no judgement from me. Just curious since it's mostly men here. Men seem to have a strong attachment to their meat (yes, @bu$hleaguer run with it) Why?

I don't eat meat with every meal. but probably a bit every day. I have energy longer after eating a meal with meat, so if I have a longer and hard afternoon, I will get the salad with chicken. After a week without red meat I start to crave it form some reason. Just had a bacon bison burger :)

Moderation with me. I also like to eat local, kindly raised critters. Like Past Times, I don't eat at every meal.

I consume a lotta whole milk. 2-3 gallons a week. One gallon is raw cows milk. I also eat 2 raw eggs a day.

I think eggs should be considered the next superfood

I agree. Eggs are nutrient dense, low fat/cal and great protein. A true super food IMO

i drink a lot of milk too, but don't have access to raw milk, but i could easily knock back a gallon or so in a day if i were trying..

To me, meat is richness: taste, texture and viserally. I've eaten pretty much the food change of meat in my life and enjoyed it all. I'm not happy if I don't have at least 4 meat dinners(suppers) per week. How ever, veggie meals are fucking good too.

I like beef almost raw (primal cut raw and some s&p I am down)

I like to dry age a big rib roast. With ribs attached. 30 days. Cut into 2" steaks. Cooked rare-medium, seared outside on a charcoal (not gas) fire with heavy pre-heated cast iron grill. With fresh cracked black pepper and a lot of kosher salt.

Real essence of meat for me. No sauces, butter, etc.
