growing for first time with nft setup from seed.

hi ppl

this is my first attempt at growing green(at growing anything if im honest) i got myself an nft setup with 250watt hps light and 205i tank.

i germinated the ww seeds in water overnight then when they cracked i put em in the small rockwool blocks and put em under the light on 18/6.
once i got roots showing thru the small rockwool blocks i put them in the
3" blocks,they seem to be doin ok but as its my first time how am i to know? lol
i think i may have overwatered them coz the leafs are curling down a bit
but ive cut down on watering so i hope they will be ok..

anyway please check my pics and tell me wot u think????

like i said its my first grow so any advice would be great

you should have put them under a cfl 1st cause dey stretched mad

they'll survive alot, they are weeds afterall. you may have to support them with stakes at some point because of the stretching. try to keep your lights closer - check FAQ on this site for specifics. i'd be more worried about the curling leaves if your watering changes don't help.

Yup looks like too much water...any nutes? Sounds like your on the right track. Be sure to give them a light breeze to strengthn those long legs...

hi, ye ive bin watering 3 times a day and i did mist with fizzy water 3 times a day but ive cut that down to just once a day,ive added 1/4 strength nutriant(grow) to the water ive been feedin em.
ive got a 16" ocsilating fan blowing into the growchamber thing i made so temp stays 75-83 when light is on.

ye about the leaves curling down i read sumwhere that its due to overwatering so i cut that down to see if it helps but they still seem to be
curling down so im stuck? lol

the roots are now showing on the bottom of the 3" rockwoll blocks now so cant be long till they go in the nft tank.
i got the ww seeds from seedsman.com not sure if there any good tho?
i think they where £20 for 10.

keep coments n advice coming guys it really helps

ok its been 13 days now and 4 of the 3" rockwool blocks have loadsa roots commin outta the bottom so ive put them into the nft tank on haft nutrients and turned the pump really low so they dont drown.

the leaves are starting to lift up a bit now as opposed to curling under so
the cut down in watering and spraying must be having sum affect

fingers crossed they might actually start growing a bit better now?
who knows????

i think you might be pushing it with the light now. put your hands under the light close to your plants and if the light is to hot for you its to hot for your plants.

ye i did that and it was ok,i could leave my hand there all day lol
its only 250watt so i thought i best put it close so they dont stretch again

hey should i have a fan running 24/7? ive had mine on the same timer as the light

i dont think it would hurt anything either way. i leave my fan on 24/7.

hey im thinkin of changing to cfl's tomoz coz the electric bill is high with the 250w hps, will my babies still keep growing or do i have to keep em under the hps now coz i stasrted em with it?

well they been in the nft tank since thursday and there already growing a lot better

well its been 6 days since i put my 4 plants into the nft hydro tank and they seem to be kickin ass lol

there still on half nutes till thursday so im expecting major growth when i switch to full nutes (fingers crossed)

heres sum new pics i took today so check my babies out!!

oh i took a peep under the lid and the roots have grown everywhere so im gettin excited hehe

not sure your electric bill problem is due to the light - a 250 watt light run 24 hours per day would cost a little over 50 cents/day at the us avg elec price of 9 cents/kwh

Yeah a 1000w HPS uses around $25 per month of electricity

guys im in england, it costs about £10 a week just to run the light and fan. Thats about $20. Plus there on about putting our gas and electric bills up by 70% next year! Yes i did say 70%.
Its a fuckin ripp off over here.

Anyway how my plants lookin lol
