Harvesting tops first.

Mr sunshine: so just stick to cains or tomato cages?? I thought by scrogging I increased ur yeild massively if done correctly due to the fact your increasing the amount of tops???

Mr stickysissors: they were alwful cuttings to start with dead lanky and the internodes were to far apart but they were the last of this strain headband kush an nobody else had any so needs must

Scrog is a training technique that allows you to fill a wide canopy with usually 1plant.. Even if you did add a screen it wouldn't technically be a scrog.. When you have that many they just grow up and fill the space above them. They are side by side making the canopy. That's not a scrog that's just support..

Well I've just been talking to someone about that and I'm going to go for that do 200 little ones an hopefully pull 1oz per plant wat do u think possible

I scrog this last run I do 50 at a time let me tell you worth the extra work and my tops never looked better. I think the tops get more wind and that's where the co2 likes to hang out. Carpet of buds wins every time for me rather then growing stem I think the whole plants are maturing faster.

Very nice. Nicely frosted.
there smelling pretty good. the gurilla glue 4 is starting to yellow out a little, mainly the fan leaves. I usually don't get that tell around week 6. the blue berry diesel is all green. I push them both the same I think the GG4 couldn't handle it as well. but all the same it's going to be a good harvest.

Really nice looking plants MrStickyScissors.

I just got a GG#4 clone a few weeks ago and I'm thinking it's a bit of a nitrogen hog. It's getting some yellow leaves while all the other strains are medium to dark green.

Yea I agree. I have the blue berry diesel in the same room and its green still

Hey MrStickyScissors, did you get to try this out on a harvest yet? What was the outcome?
I pulled 4.5 pounds. not to great but this sea of green im doing I expect 6 pounds at least. I did harvest the tops first on one table and let the bottoms go tell I was done trimming. It's not worth it. pretty much I feel that if the buds do not get a strong start which is the first 4 weeks then any larf will pretty much stay larf. allthough it did look a little better.

It really depends on your growing style and your needs/goals. If you grow in well manicured scrog with everything below the net trimmed out, it wouldn't make much sense. But if you grow taller more naturally shaped plants, then it might make sense. If you grow for profit and have dozens of plants, I doubt it would pay off. If you are a smaller grower with fewer plants, and you are trying to maximize the potential of each plant, your net result will be a fuller harvest. I've found that the lower buds hairs will turn from white/yellow to gold/brown, and in general the buds will "finish" after I've taken off the top colas and lowered the light. The lower buds won't magically become huge colas, but they should go amber and fully mature if you give them time (an additional 7-10 days can make a big difference).

At this point I've found I can't really do indoor grows in the summer, so if I'm only going to do two winter runs per year I want to get the most out of each plant (I grow 3 plants per cycle, 6 per year indoor). I'm only growing for one patient though, so my overall needs are not as quantity oriented or time sensitive as some others.

but I have a partner that I have to split everything with thats why I need that much. wich isnt even that much. I would really like to get a warehouse and run 50 lights pay 6 grand a month for electricity and call it a day.

I'm not sure I get a lot more yield, but the inner and lower buds fatten up and look nice and finished after a week or two. Maybe it works better outdoors.

my current crop is 60 blue berry diesel and 30 purple berry in two gallon pots. the next crop after that is going to be 210 blue berry diesels
Are you going to keep a journal of you 210 plant grow? I wouldn't mind seeing that.
