Overkill, just run Hps and a 200CFM exhaust,
100CFM might do it if the hot air is ducted outside the room

an unenclosed metal halide bulb is illegal, just about anywhere
for your own safety turn off the metal halide before entering the grow
how these monkeys are able to sell this illegal halide light without an enclosure
even in such remote places as 'merica is a discredit the the epa

damage assessment.....fuckin shit captain she over heating at 97 degree's...
dial back the watts.....raise the light to the top of tent... aim the exhaust can ducting up and away..... boost exhaust fan to full blast...aim the dinky clip fan at bulb in an upward fashion towards exhaust......
she cant takes no more captain 95 and theres just no way.....
.how can this be o.0? all over youtube people have same hanger and lights?

The cover glass of the luminaire can be used to block the UV,
and can also protect people or equipment if the lamp should fail by exploding.

According to American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the "E" rating refers to lamps that must be used in enclosed luminaires that meet the safety requirements of UL1598.

the wing reflector is optional on most ebay hps and ballast bulbs.....
and still u see everywhere on people medical mj youtube grow they just have the bulbs hanging from the cord in between light with reflectors similar to mine dats crazy when there are rules i guess its just not big enough problem to be noticed...also i didnt know there were rules to using these bulbs o.0 dats nuts
If you have $50 you can buy a CMH All Start bulb. You run it on the ballast's MH setting. A local hydro store has the Sun Systems LEC 315 and it runs noticeably cooler. It's a $500 system using the Agro Elite bulb which requires a special ballast. The All Start bulb works with magnetic ballasts. I assume it runs as cool. I haven't used one. There are people in the indoor forum who use it and say it's the best choice short of spending a lot of money on efficient LED.
