You rewrite the tax code to something simple and eliminate all subsidies and loopholes. Everyone pays the same flat fee.

That takes power out of the hands of politicians.

Politicians do not take money from special interest groups because the tax codes are too complicated or because of subsidies and loopholes. They take money because it gets them reelected because it buys political influence
