I LIKE Early Harvests -- Anyone Else of that Mind?

Finishing 7 weeks of flowering outdoors in Oregon soil for a strain called Afghani x Chem Diesel. I sprouted the seeds a little late (began on May 1) so these two plants could have used more vegging time. I'll try that next year.

I Harvested them today. Strong on THC, little CBDs, CBN. About 20% red pistils and about 5% amber trichomes. Most trichomes are cloudy. Lots of resin and decent cola/bud development. It's what does good for my head and body!

It seems this board favors the late-harvesting side of things.... is that true? How about you?

if you can`t keep the bugs and mould away a bird in the hand and all that

but in 10 to 14 days most plants can be made ready, potassium and a touch of aspirin is my go to when I want to speed things up

sure you don`t get as much as if you go another 4 weeks but in 1 to 2 weeks you can get some extra yield that way and mature the buds so they are almost the same as if they had been growing for 4 weeks longer

I only harvest early mate. But that's because I grow indica dominant strains. If you let them go to full maturity you will end up with some sleepy bud. A few hits and boom yer asleep. Yes it will be extremely potent if you let it mature but whats the point if you get knocked out every single time? Harvesting early gives me the up high that I like but with an added relaxed effect.

Could have waited a few weeks later and given them some more feeding for more weight etc. Forearmed is forewarned for the next round. Have seen a lot worse but good effort ;-)

A good guide line is let the 80%of the pistols turn brown and curl in close to the bud.Then you are closer to a better harvest.

I like harvesting a bit early on some strains , but you harvested wayyyy too early you just cost yourself a lot of weight.

Interesting comments, folks. FYI, just vaped a bit (equivalent of 2-3 bong hits) and it was a fine, energetic high, and surprisingly to me, long lasting (3-4 hours) -- I'm happy with the results, and also, in Oregon, recreational users are allowed to have up to 8 ounces. That just about gets me through the year, if potent. So i don't want to go OVER the limit.... letting those plants go any longer would probably create that sort of (nice) problem!

Thats not early dude thats prematurely aborting, like you really hacked her down in the prime of her life, she had a job, car, house with a garden, she was even thinking of having kids. Think of all those memories you were meant to have now gone just ashes of time gathering in a bowl. Why god damn it, whhhyyyy, how could you do such a thing, i even cried at the last picture...
