Fly a drone over their fields with a sprayer of herbicide. It's Americans against the Vietcong all over again. Gotta use jungle warfare tactics. Just not agent orange this time, and I don't mean the strain. They also like doing whole house grows using special circuit boards they have for stealing power. They're all in it together, SOBs. They'll take over if you just sit around and let em. You ain't gonna let no VCs take over your grow zone now are ya?

Where are you? Colorado's prices are half that, and those in WA and OR are even lower.
maybe it will get that low here in northern nevada in time :):):) the cancer patients I grow for are low fixed income and rely on the generosity of others for their medicine.I just purchase a new tent and grow light so that I can take on another patient but I think it will always be cheaper to grow your own than to buy it. the federal government need to recognize MMJ like canada does and insurance companies need to start paying for it for patients who need it. there are many physical and emotional disorders for which doctors have no effective treatment and I have seen cannabis help with 2 of these disorders after the doctors said there was nothing the can do

A joke in poor taste; it's blindingly obvious they give no fucks about the needs of patients, only the desire for profit for LPs.

Do corporations get to give money to political campaigns in Canada? If so, it's definitely time to outlaw the practice. America is a classic example of what happens if they're allowed to continue.

The good ol USA where corporations are people, according to the Supreme Court. America is the land of crony capitalism. Fascism is the union of corporations and government. What we have in the USA is soft fascism. But the stage has been set for heavy handed fascism compliments of the Patriot Act and other such intrusions on liberty. Americans are the proverbial frog in the pot of water over the flames. We aren't to far from boiling.

I truly understand and respect your opinion, but I also don't think personal profit is not wrong. My self, and many other growers that may earn a living from smaller scale operations (legal or otherwise) will likely have to reconstruct their entire lives as prices fall.
And I will be the first to admit, yes, I am "greedy" in the sense that I want to make as much income as I can any way possible. One shot at life and I dont want to have a list of what ifs and wish I could haves.
Heard on NPR today that by 2020 the cannabis market is expected to be as large as if not larger than our manufacturing industry (factories, warehouses, and textiles) I can easily see people in the industry earning 10$/hourly unless your in a very socialistic area/state. Once big business prices it down to 1$/gram who else can compete?
I'm pretty sure I could still make a profit at $450/lb. There's precious little in the produce section of the local grocery that costs anywhere near that much.

I could not have said it better, myself.

Here, time to join with other like minded people and get involved;

I was born in Alberta, and if this country keeps spinning out of control like it has been for most of my lifetime I'll be coming back.

America has apparently abandoned all pretense of living up to its own espoused standards and ideals, in favor of the naked pursuit of raw greed and power at the expense of its people and its future.

The produce (and other food products) at the store is cheap because of scale and government subsidies though, right? I could see weed getting there but not for a while, especially under this federal administration.

The economies of scale achieved by commercial grow facilities already make this a profitable price.

Hand trimmed top shelf bud for $450/lb?

How dare they, working harder and longer, using organic and pesticide free nutrients, and then selling it at a fair price!

What is this country coming to?

I have a birth right to charge $2k/lb for salt crusted brick weed I didn't spend any time tending.

Harumph.
