And the reason is that Trump is a fucking idiot. He was warned by at least TWO people that Flynn was a liability, but president chump was undeterred.

I know the Pres can pardon federal prisoners, do traitors count as federal prisoners?

Draw and quarter the traitor. Then drag his quartered remains to the four corners of the realm. Then strike his name from all public records. Confiscate the wealth of his family. Send them back to their ancestral homeland. If nobody will take them, set them adrift on an old wooden boat with a gunboat to escort them into international waters. Give orders to sink the boat if they try to return. If they should manage to survive, never allow their offspring to cross the borders of this country.
When they die, make sure their remains are cremated and scattered to the winds.
