@Randomblame, did you see my post above on the new hlg qb96 v2 elites?

Know anything more about them than the info listed on hlg’s site? Supposed to be equivalent intensity to a 288 301b bd, with red, deep red, no far red.

Got some ordered.

You and @Belko are getting me in trouble now, gonna do my first diy...

Plan on making indiv fixtures w/ 240h-54a drivers. Map them out in a 4x4, like the timbers. See what these red-supplemented cob-like qbs can do.

Thinking about 4x4 side-by-sides with 4 diff cloned strains in each tent, w uv from start and added fr initiators... how bout super lemon haze, gg4, one each of compatible indica-like and sativa-like bodhi strain (indicas one side, sativas other)?

How many growmau5 pucks per 4x4, you think?

Taking suggestions from everyone on the two bodhis....

Ahh, before I forget, I promised to show something when its done...
Its done..
One of the better looking superlemonhazes and a few macro shots to show what you can expect when using UVB.
I just imagine what a gorilla glue lady would look like with UVB.. Insane!

Thanks for the insight guys, yeah the reds were what caught my eye. I may hack it and put some better diodes instead of the blues
Much thanks to you all, a reptile bulb has been added and I plan to incorporate some into my cookie sheet builds which hopefully will be finished in time for the next flower run, So we will see GG4 responding! Hopefully I pull off a clean run, those are gorgeous and GG is one of my favorites already..

Check out that hlg qb96, bd or bd+sink...Seems hella power (54x4.2 upto 6.0=alot of watts in a 4”x3” bd) w/ reds built in, reasonable price...

Yeah those look very tasty! Going to try to budget some in but it might be a bit. This has gone from personal med grow to hobby/obsession lol. This months budgets went mostly to air circulation, and parts to finish out the rest of the strips I have. Always looking for bang for buck and those would look sweet mounted in the sheets lol. 4 2ft strips and 2 qb96 with a reptile bulb per 26x18 cookie sheet sound good? Might get a little busy and I'll have to add a fan....How do these things always escalate?

Cannabis, a gateway drug or road to obsession...?

Do it as it makes sense, i’ll test em out, maybe they aren’t right for what you need, seem cob-like, not “qb”-like...

Yeah, but i’d save up for the 18/35s, true emerson (red, deep red, far red) not just deep red...emerson is one of the things i think is turbocharging this grow.
You're right, looked again it's a single spectrum, cross that one off. I gotta read the specs more and assume less.

A little plant material with your trichs?

Truly impressive, thanks for pics RB.

SLH, only 50cm when done? Tell me more.

Its the skunkpheno, I would say.
She had a genetic defect(one half of the plants had yellow stripes and deformed leaves) and normally I would have thrown her away but I found a few leaves with a 6th little extra finger on some of her leaves and thought it could be a triploid plant. So I kept her and later I took mainly cuttings from the healthy side. I always kept such plants because most of the time the 6th, 8th or 10th extra finger can be a hint on an outstanding keeper pheno.
I flowered her the first time and she behaves more like a skunk strain with a little haze touch. No extra dense triploid flowers unfortunately but very good results. Compared to the trunk diameter she produced enormous amounts of bud and needs to be supported not to fall over.
Thats two leaves of her; one with 6 and one with 4 fingers and you can also see the genetic defects.

Without knowing which diodes and binnings are used on this boards it's hard to calculate, bro. Maybe 6v Nichia 3030 and Cree XQRs..
But they mentioned two numbers 2,35μMol/J at 170w and 2,0 at 200w so the sweet spot is probably around 100w with up to 2,6μMol/J efficiency. I like to have the far-red on a separate driver because I don't want to supply it all the time to the same amount. So from this POV I like them but they are much to small IMO and act like a COB and a 200w COB would need at least 18-24" distance or more. I would probably drive them at 50w and use much of them on selfmade heatsinks. I would rather like to see red and deepreds on the QB120s..
This ones are more comparable to round Chilled boards and I don't like them for the same reason.

Why the hell they did not stick them on 2 or 4ft strips? When do they finally understand that strips are way better suited to distribute light from a small distance efficiently and almost lossless on a canopy?
Solstrips from Cutter for instance you can customize to your needs and are way better. Spectrums from 2200 - 5600°k are available, CRI80 or 90(or a mix) and XQRs you can choose in blue, red and deepred or even in far-red if you want. The 96elite boards are only made to have something similar to the Chilled boards.
They are efficient and deliver a better spectrum than COB and who wants to modernize his COB light is certainly good adviced to use them but I'm more focussed on stripes. My target distance is 12" because of the UVB bulbs I use and to create something useful I would need a lot of them; at least 8 or so at 50w.

For sure! I pre-subbed the future gg#4 + UVB thread already, lol!

Yeah, only make sure to run them low they act like big COB's and need heatsinks at higher wattage. Maybe add a few c-channels to the cookie sheets backside to increase the cooling surface and make them at least part wise 1-2mm thicker. This would allow better heat dissipation and you could avoid using additional fans. Simply use the same doublesided thermal tape to glue the channels on the backside. But its probably not enough when you plan to drive them at 100w or more.. But with 4 strips and 2 boards in series on the same driver(same current) it should work. Probably no fan needed with HLG-240, a light breeze with HLG-320 could be enough and 1 or 2 fans at 5v with an HLG-480 should work too but thats only a fast estimation.

Well, we’re gonna see, cuz i have 4 coming. I’ve heard they need 24” gap, which is what i’m running now.

Thanks, pics make it look thicker than in-person, so many laterals. Only 1-2 pairs of fans per budsite/cola.

I hate scrog, too much fucking work on top of my usual time commitment, can’t reposition, don’t need it for what i do.

I’m not doing it this time, but i get 1/2lb per plant, under blurples, doing manifold and training as my normal tech, that i call swirled screenless scroglines. Basically, training tips down and around to take advantage of apical dominance, without a screen.

You’re looking at 17+ oz, well-trimmed and dry.

I think ssh mains are done “stretch”, colas will elongate as they stack.

My guess is hlg took/threatened legal action. Timber used Hlg bds, customized which hlg couldn’t/wouldn’t do, and then priced below hlg...hope not, but’s my guess.
Agree completely, scrod fucking shits me as well! All I do is LST 6-7 main stems and keep pulling it down and cut off one of the pair of side branches that come up and then flip when I have 25 big stems....I cant be fucked waiting to veg so long for a p a plant so I do 8 and get 2.5

Yeah, for 24" its okay to use them at max. current.
I hope, I can manage it using my pureUVs at only 12".. If not that would really piss me off.

Day 42 of ?84?: Just one question, do qbs do this for everyone’s plants?

Excuse my francais, this is fucking amazing!

And they are still in mid flowering!

Ppfd ~1050, all controlled variables in range.
Yep, Which is why the hps/led argument has become laughable. Nothing like having someone tell you the fat bud you are toking on can't exist lol.
