Growers Lights Company Review

A quick warning to anyone looking for Quantum Board kits. I recently ordered two QB kits from the website "growerslights" and have had a pretty crappy experience with them as a company and wanted to share with/warn others. The order was placed on a Saturday, confirmation email was recieved. A week goes by with no update. I begin to call daily trying to get a hold of the company to see whats up. None of my calls are returned and it takes another 5 days for the guy to answer. I am polite with him and ask him when I can expect shipping confirmation and he gives me this long winded reply on the high demand for LED lights. Then after 5 minutes of rambling tells me it will be out tomorrow. Fast forward a few days and I have to call off work to sign for the Fedex package, get the kits, woohoo! Open up the kits and practically nut myself looking at the QBs. Then I notice the heatsinks are bent... Oh well they will still work, nothing I can't fix. Go to Lowes and get wire strippers just before closing, drive home and get ready to build these things. I was supper excited. Start putting the boards to the heatsink when I realize they did not include ANY solid core wire for the DC output. They forgot them on BOTH kits. Now the hardware store is closed, Im pissed, and these lights sitting around useless. Now I am doing research on the needed wires (research I payed $700 dollars not to do, regardless of your opinion on DIY kits that is absolute BS). Turns out this stuff isnt easy to find; HLG recomends 18 awg solid core wire rated for 300v or higher. Spent the entire morning calling around and no hardware store locally has what I need. Growerslights, unspurisingly, hasnt returned my call. Now I have to spend more money to get a component that was advertised to be included.

I give Growerslights 3/5 stars. Minus one for very poor comunication and minus one for sending me a damaged and incomplete product. Do yourself a favor and buy directly from HLG and not from growerslights. Capitalism should not reward mediocrity. Vote with your dollars folks and do it somewhere that ISN'T "Growerslights".

… I give Growerslights 3/5 stars ...
Oh man … I'd be major pissed off too. 3 out of 5 is very generous considering the shitty customer relations, damaged heat sinks and missing wiring.

But they did do one thing well - they got your address correct cause FedEx did show up at the right door.:clap::clap:

Although they did fuck up, the damage could of been Fed-Ex's fault. I've had several packages from them come in damaged lately. Some paid for 2 day shipping arriving late and several dropped off at the wrong address. I've come to the point I'll no longer use Fed-Ex

Yeah when you say the heatsinks (pl) are damaged that sounds like in-transit damage. Even if the outside of the package is intact. Rough handling seems routine anymore.

I wonder if this was just an isolated problem. I dealt with growerslight and they were a 5 out of 5 easy.

I ordered two 260watt xl series 3 from Budget Led out of Michigan. These lights are beast! Came basically assembled.
