How do you pick your strains?

I've been looking for a new strain to grow and I've been overwhelmed by the amount of strains there are right now. Like seriously, there's at least a thousand strains in each category by different breeders that all have the similar descriptions.

How do you decide which beans you pick up?

I am trying to narrow it down to reputable breeders, then reputable distributors, then my preference in strain, then reputable strains.

buying cheap seeds will get you cheap low grade weed. the idea is to get the best result you can.
Everyone advertises their seeds as the best possible, so how would you know if it's low grade or not?
Grizzy seed bank has actually sent me some quite expensive free seeds in with my 'cheap' orders.
I'm growing Amnesia auto, White Widow auto, Red Diesel photo, Lemon Kush photo, Orange Punch photo.
Amnesia is a medium size strong thick plant (produced 1oz of dried weed @63%).
White Widow is larger but a bit frail (needed staking)
Red Diesel (free seed) is a massive beast that's taking over.
Lemon Kush is heading the same way.
Orange Punch medium size bushes, fairly manageable.

I'm OK with low grade weed.

You have a lot of learning to do still. Cheap seeds doesnt equal to low grade weed.
Barneys farm, Greenhouse, dinafem aren't cheap and they suck ass.
PeakseedsBC, Briscoe bargain beans has cheap beans that are fire for example.
i always go for the cali strains like wedding cake, gelato, sundae driver ect ect. they are always expensive :)

I start with where to buy and then pick my strain. So many stories on here about people not getting their seeds from some of these guys.

find a place and stick to it. Then when you find that one strain you been looking for take a chance. But by then you will have a stockpile.

Some good breeders: Archive, AK Bean Brains, Bodhi, BOG, Capulator, CSI Humboldt, Dungeons Vault, Dominion/Duke Diamond's Vault, Dying Breed, Exotic Genetix, Mean Gene/Freeborn Selections, Homegrown Natural Wonders, Karma, Lucky Dog, Prolific Coast, Red Scare Seed Company, Riot Seed Co, Sin City, SnowHigh, Strayfox Gardenz, Swamp Boys, Thug Pug, True Canna Genetics.

Some vendors with good genetics: Great Lakes Genetics, @snowhighseeds, Neptune Seed Bank, Seeds Here Now, JBC Seedbank, Breeders Direct Seed Co, The Seed Source, Speakeasy Seed Bank, Oregon Elite Seeds. I believe all of these except GLG take credit card, but GLG has the best deals and if you get Bodhi seeds he has the best selection of freebies, which you are able to choose for yourself. Like right now they have a $60 for all Bodhi packs, plus buy one get one free. $45 for Strayfox packs. And they also get sent in the original packaging from all these places, although I've only ordered from the first three, and bought from Seeds Here Now in person.

ILGM is the only place I shop. They come super fast and replace if there are problems.
ILGM isn't very good. Most of their stuff is fake.

Examples:

LOL that's not cookies

That's not Gelato...

Oh man that is not Blue Dream lol.

TK is sold in California, doesn't make it a "Cali" strain.

So the weed they sell in California is not cali??? is that what you are trying to tell me? Hahaha

Edit: Either way, sundae driver is an american Strain :)

i see your point, but sundae driver still sells for 80 dollars for 3.5 grams

i guess we can agree that Sundae driver is an American strain although it might not be "cali" right? :)

I don't see your point.

Why would it not be an American strain... lol sundae driver is by Cannarado... etc.. please don't call it "Cali"

Then why did you bring it up? You said it was "cali" weed. lol sundae driver is by Cannarado... etc.. please don't call it "Cali." Then you said it's American, even though that was never a point of contention.
The strains are sold in California dude, you don't see them selling UK cheese weed in California do you??? if it's sold in cali then it's cali weed. go to California and buy 3.5 grams of sundae driver and tell them it's not cali... they will look at you funny dude hahaha

So, because TK is sold in California, does that make it a California strain? And because UK cheese is from the UK, that makes Sundae Driver a California strain?

go to California and buy 3.5 grams of sundae driver and tell them it's not cali... they will look at you funny dude hahaha
Uh... no, lol sundae driver is by Cannarado... etc.. please don't call it "Cali."
