Need advice on the setup

Ok I also believe this to be highly possible. There is supposedly a scientific article from Holland they says it does increase thc in some strains. I wanted to try it this time because I don't want to flower them anymore(losing stickiness) and a portable ac I will use to dry them gets here in wensday. I also think the calyxes can swell more and become more amber but I really don't know the cause of the stickiness loss.
If you get five seasoned growers to agree that it's a good idea, and somehow increases potency, then sure. But you won't.

So for the first week is an idea to use some rooting stimulant?
The fan leaves is an indication of good enough root system to start the nute feeds?
No, plants have plenty of practice developing their own roots. They don't need any help. Clones are where you want to look at rooting hormones.

What about uva and uvb to increase potency ?, what do you think ?
Quit trying to make it more difficult for yourself. What you need, in order to grow great plants, is practice. Nothing will increase your yields more than experience. After all that, then try experimenting, when you'd be able to compare yields against each other.

Stick with the basics. Trust me, it'll get you lots of strong tasty buds.

I think I keep it very simple. Promix, folliage pro from start to finish and that is it. my yields have been good If you tell me where I should invest my energy in order to grow great plants then I want to hear. Uvb sounds interesting and there is some evidence that it actually increases thc. I don't think Im complicating things very much, I repeat the thing about the 72 hour darkness was just to wait for the ac but jondajamon made me change of idea and I will wait one week(minimum) more for them to finish. I give you the 72 hour darkness thing ;), you are surely more experienced and I think you talk from experience.

Thanks :)

my advice to growers is this.
Dial in your environment! So that you control as much as possible from Temps to air exchange to RH and air movement.

Then
1. For your first grow learn to grow a healthy plant Until it finishes flowering to ripeness.
2. for your second grow start to learn some training methods such as TOPPING LST SCROG
3. Perfect the training method you’ve adopted and when your reaching 1gpw (a gram per watt of light used) Then look to improve something.
4. don’t over complicate things.

When I first started I had bottles upon bottles of magic elixirs and various nutrients.

now I use

2 part base Nutrient (Dutch pro Hydro/Coco GROW A/B

mono calcium
Mono magnesium
Epsom salts.

that’s it.

UVB attacks the cannabis plant and kills THC but it makes the plant produce slightly more THC to compensate for lost THC.

This is why it has a benefit for THC production.

but again when your hitting 400g dry from a 400w or 600g dry from a 600w or 1000g dry from a 1000w then and only then will you be able to turn your hand to trying new things.

there is only one magic formula when it comes To growing cannabis.

provide a near perfect environment + the right amount of nutrients at the right time + flowering for what the plant requires to finish = bountiful harvesta of delicious nugs.

then comes the learning how to dry and cure properly. Lol.

my last harvest of 1 plant in the pictures. It’s also missing 61g from this container as I’ve already gone through that amount.

this was one plant and I only grew 2 plants total and 1 was an auto.6D05341E-9A45-4F79-9810-EFFFD1A28DFB.jpeg06124235-0F1C-4812-9FD4-16C898750DFC.jpeg73D05EB1-3447-4C94-B724-1E2E9A55D14B.jpeg

I agree with you and believe me I try to keep things simple, simple nutrients recipe, simple training technique(sog) etc. But I don't understand why adding uv light is a bad idea if It is known that there is a receptor(uvr8) that can be triggered with uv light and that it is known to stress the plant I a certain way it makes it produce more thc. The 1gpw does not apply to me because I use Quantum boards and last harvest I got 940 grams from 600 watts of led. I think that with sodium lights that would come down to .75 gpw so I still need some practice to improve my numbers.

I think this harvest will be close to 2 pounds in a 4x4 tent. My yields have been good I think, I want to improve the quality and although I get that keeping a perfect environment and giving them the right amount of nutrients is more important maybe the uvb can help...I don't think I complicate things.

Ultimately I hear what you’re saying and if you want to try it then go for it.

a reptile light can work for UVB but then how much do you need to make it work?

how much is too much?

will you be supplementing UVA aswell as this also has an increase on THC CBD FLAVONOIDS and TERPENES.

So I ask if you do where does it stop lol?

I’d be happy with your yields too.

I ordered some uva diodes from rapid led and I will install them on my quantum boards in a similar way to Tbone from grasscity who did this. I will only add 1 or 2 diodes per board, that will get me a total of 30 watts that is 5% the amount of light I use.

I also ordered some uvb from cutter weeks ago but those are still to be shipped....
I will only add 2 watts of led uvb.

Also to get the right amount of UVB would require 1.3w/m2 for 6 hours per day.

a light that can reach that amount would set you back around $2000

Most of the UVB information that’s out there is outdated with scholar articles etc from the 80’s where tests were done.

theories are flying around about mountainous areas of the world producing high THC contents due to “possibly” increased levels of UVA UVB and UVC rays in the suns light.

I made some calculations based on some randomblame posts and I came to te. conclusion that 2 watts of uvb light for 12 hours a day would give me the same amount of uv he uses "successfully". Cutter sells this, for 25 dollars you get 2 watts of 310nm uv and 1 watt of 275nm uv. I don't plant to use that diode the 275nm diode because it is uvc.

UVB causes cancer, and I think the only thing UVA does is cause the plant to go from veg to flower much more quickly. I might be off on a couple things though.

I think the uvr8 receptor thing is already "proved science" you can even found about it on wikipedia haha.

Isn’t that UVC causes cancer? I’m not too sure but I know UVC can be used to degrade DNA!!!

I was once looking into creating a small T5 style UVC chamber for pest treatment once lol.

But I can just unplug the light before I open my tent. Of course uvb and specially uvc is very bad for humans but being safe Is as easy as unplugging the uv light before you open the tent. You could even put a reminder in the tent door.....
